- We hiked to the summit of Camelback Mountain via the Echo Canyon Trailhead in March of 2021. This was a fun but difficult hike that offered up some incredible views of the Phoenix area! The parking lot at the trailheads fill up fast so get here early to find a spot. If you are visiting Phoenix and up for a challenging workout, this hike is for you!

I tend to leave my big bongo drums at home when hiking up mountains. I love rocky climbs. Looks crowded, but that is to be expected, even with active bees. Lol
Awesome hike. We thought about doing that hike last time we were in Phoenix but we ended up doing the Flat Iron Mesa trail instead. This trail looks great. Rugged, steep, and great views. Take care.

Looks like a busy trail. It must be hard to climb with all those rocks but it’s all worth it , the view from above is amazing.
It was super busy! There were quite a few people on the trail that likely got more than they bargained for!

This is an amazing area, I love the geology, it is like been on another planet. Loved it 👍
You really did get some great views of the city from that trail. It does look difficult scrambling up and down those rocks in some places. But the view makes it worth all of that. Thanks for taking us along on your hike!

We drove past there on our Brewers-DBacks trip, but we were NOT going to try it in July with a nine-year-old. Sooooo cool you got to do it!

Yes, running with anything on this trail seems dangerous! We lucked out and had temps in the 60s with some clouds and even got rained on afterwards eating lunch!
