I finally made a comparison vid of the EMG 81-7 and the Fishman Fluence SRC pickup. 🎸🎚🤘😎 To my surprise they sound pretty similar … there`s no better or worse … just a matter of taste! 🙂

EMG 81-7 is indisputably winner !
Ya I gotta say, even over crappy UA-cam audio the EMG is the clear winner. All settings being equal I hear a faster attack, more raunchy mids, and an overall tighter & more full sound coming out of them.
🤘🤘🤘😎
EMG 🔥🔥🔥
I prefer the EMGs but in my level of guitarplay any pickup is good
👍 ... and having fun on guitar is more important than the level of playing 🤘😎
The real way the fishmans shine is when doing complex chords , the note clarify of each string rings out , you don't really get that with the EMG's.
… agree! Each pickups has it`s own character… just a matter of taste! 🤘😎

Dude, this video was a massive help for me as I'm deciding between the SRC or the 81-7. Thanks for this!
Glad to hear that. Thank you. Keep shredding! 🤘😎
EMG because are cheaper and sounded for me better I mean more precise and a little less compression than Fischmans.. but this iis my personal taste
I also prefer the EMG, but both are great pickups… just a matter of taste! 🤘😎
E M G - like mangy dogs! simply beautiful!
hahaha … fact! 🤘😄
Emg is the man!
hey I currently have the SRC fitted in my LTD and might consider swapping it out for the EMG - how easy was the swap??
It`s supereasy! You just swap the pickups, the cable connectors are the same and you can also leave all the wiring and pots there. 🤘😎
Selten das mir doch der EMG besser gefällt 💪
unverhofft kommt oft! hahaha 😄 der 81er hat einfach seinen charakter 🖤
Did you change the guitar strings when you changed the pickups?
… i used the same strings. 🤘😎
81 is having the biggest balls, for me is also about the preset, but playing straight metal i do use it in both shapes......
🤘🤘🤘😎
For me it's a toss up but at gun point I would say the emg sounds a tiny bit more sharp and crisp . Somebody else may say the opposite though.
Yeah, they sound pretty similar, just a matter of taste! And yeah, the EMG has its own sharp tone! 🖤😎
fishman :)
This fluence sounds heavily compressed. First time I've heard an 81 sound better than fluence but as stated in another comment, this isn't a Modern. 81 definitely sounds better in this battle.
Yeah, it`s the SRC, not the Modern. Both are great ... the EMG has its own sharp tone! 🖤😎
The modern dijnda compressed AF. It makes dome if my pedals even fart out. HOWEVER, you can put a jumper on 2 pins on the back of the pickup that lower the gain, giving you improved dynamics with less compression, more clarity and stop the pickup from distorting itself into a ball of mush. Pick attack becomes clearer and distortion less fuzzymturnijgbyiur amps gain down does do exactly the same thing.
Src??
Yeah, it`s the Stephen Carpenter Signature SRC Humbucker
In reality, there's negligible differences between the two and the EMG shortcomings ( if there's any) can easily be buried in the mix. Fishmans are overpriced for what they are
Yes, pretty similar... but each pickup has it`s own character… just a matter of taste! 🤘😎
The first Fishman fluence 7 set i got was the SC set, what a terrible bridge pickup. And thats the only one thats different from a regular modern 7 set. I changed out the bridge pup for a regular modern 7 and couldn't be happier. With the SC bridge i thought the pup must be defective or something, i tried for over a year to make it work but its just terrible. Terrible terrible pickup, way to much low end and scooped so you cant dial in anything different. I dont like to give up on gear. You can pretty much make anything work for you if you try hard enough but that was not the case with the SC bridge pup. Im so glad he didnt decide to fuck with the bridge pickup or i would have been out even more money. Now i just have the bridge pickup collecting dust.
Oh, too bad! :/ Hmmm, maybe there was something wrong with the pickup? I cannot say that this pickup has too much low end, the EMG has more bass.
@@HarryGandler1 Im really glad it works for you. Your actually the only person ive known whos owned one and didnt dislike it. Theres a video ill refer to at the bottom where the same thing that happened to me happened to somebody else. It was his first fishman fluence pup and he hated it but got a regular set of moderns and loved them. They also go over all the different fluence pups and show why the SC pup doesn't work in most situations. Hold on ill find it....ok found it. I really recommend watching it. It finally freed me from the frustration i was experiencing and now im back to loving my tone. Oh the video is demoing the 8 string version but its the same with all of them. Everyone ive met and talked to on forums agrees so it cant be a defect. But if it works for you that is absolutely all that matters. The part im talking about is at 20:00

ok, i got it, interesting! I go for EMGs anyway! EMG 81 🖤🙂
@@HarryGandler1 Don't forget Fishmans other sets are much better. So if you like the SC set your gonna love the others!
fishmans for the brighter high end
🤘😎
Modern is better by far. Those are the classics..
Fishman Modern sound bit different yes ... both great! 🤘😎
Gawd i hate when poeple show off there mixing instead of just showing the sound itself
It's the sound itself and u can hear the isolated git tracks. What r u talking about?
