I am very humbled to say, that is my Bowie! I commissioned it and he knocked it out of the park. Looks exactly as I planned and I cannot wait to get it in my hands! You are an artist Freerk. First class work and second to none communication through the process. Having a video of your knife being hand forged is icing on the cake. Thank you again for allowing me to commission a blade from you.
Man, you are an artist. I'm a surgeon and I appreaciate a quality job like this... It's beatiful to see a person like you in action. Have a nice day, cheers from Czech Republic !!
Amazingly impressive. I am so glad to finally find someone who can actually forge a knife from a piece of steel. So many that I have seen will cut an unfinished blank then polish and sharpen it. Then try to say that they forged it. It is just too disturbing. I am just starting out and trying to learn from as many true blacksmiths and metal workers as I can. Thank you for a great tutorial. Many blessings to you.
Freerk I am in awe, I watch all your videos and I’ve learned so much. I’m just a beginner without all your equipment, but your work is what I’ll always aspire to!
I watched (how you work) more than the knife. Always paying attention, taking feedback. That is true working with the materials. Not just "intending" for it to happen. Very Cool.
what I like is the templates you have just knocking around your work shop! I am making one but only with a 4inch blade and 5inch wooden handle made from Rosewood, a good solid carvable wood. I just haven't got anything I can hold and carve things with. Enjoy watching. thanks for sharing.
OMG! I’ve watched some forging here on the tube but that my friend is simply awesome! I’m in total envy of the guy who commissioned this lovely piece. Enjoy.....
The most BEAUTIFUL work of ART. I was stunned at your workmanship. I did 30 years in construction and 4 years in the AIR FORCE as a mechanic. I would love to buy one of your BOWIES. 🙏👍✌️🌞😎🍻
Congratulations my friend, your work really is of excellence ... I would like to know if you would send a knife of this to the BRAZIL? and what would be the cost? thank you so much KIRK
Congratulations, Sir. Beatiful Bowie knife. Greetings from Brazil! In your opinion, what's the most appropriate stainless steel type to design a Bowie knife like this focused on high resistance and hard working? Congratulations!
A blued steel Bowie knife huh.? I have to admit I have never seen anyone a Forge a Bowie knife with that much skill. Even here in Texas that takes a minimum of a week the forge of Blade that big. It appears only took you maybe a day or two. How much do you want for that Bowie?
You'd be surprised how much these can actually run for! I don't know if much has changed the past two decades, but knife making has always struck me as a pure cottage industry with a niche market. If you ever get the chance, head on over to a knife/gunshow. You'll see really sturdy, hefty Philippine machetes running for less than $20 to intricate D-guard bowies with some of the most gorgeous inlays running for a few grand. One of my most favorite shows are the Tanner Gun Show in Denver.
on est face a l'extrême solide efficace et magnifique je vous dit un grand bravo pour cette fabrication parfaite a mes yeux j'ai le sourire face a cette vidéo un couteau a tout faire
You should leave some information in the description on how we could possibly buy your stuff, or commission some work. You seem to always produce great products. As said below - class act.
stunning as always. ps: I think that if you would forge some Fortnite maces you'll get easily millions of views, just to advertise yourself. love your work
lol , there are some cool blades. Even in world of warcraft i've heard of a collectionist who spent 20000 $ years ago for a reproduction of shadowmourne
Thank you. This is THE Rolls Royce"" of the Bowie's. Jim Bowie would throw away his current knife after seeing this one, and order himself one. No doubt about it. This is THE Bowie of tommarrow.
Truly a comment made out of ignorance. Unless you know what the person had in mind who commissioned this blade, you're not in a position to pass judgment.
@@InGratitudeIam well, do you know what he had in mind? Good for fighting perhaps, or to chop wood, or as a meat cleaver, or bone cutter. No good for anything else. You tell me. Like I said no slight on the craftsman that made it. An expensive wall hanger perhaps.
John James McCartney: I suspect yours is one of the most honest and accurate comments given. Like you I appreciate the man's talent and the finished product. But if I were going bush I would pick up a machete; a good Tomahawk; a skinning knife and a good knife with a 6 to 8 inch blade of at least half the overall weight of that particular knife before I would choose to take that overly heavy knife. It looks big and scary and maybe really cool but knives generally have specific functions; and some can serve several functions well; but I agree with you that that is a knife more for a man who could not decide between an axe or his Sword. And nothing I have said is in any way meant to be disrespectful to the talent that created that really cool gigantic knife. Thank you for the video and the talent.
Absolute Art and expertise in metal. I am sure that a lot of sweat and tears went into your ability to craft such a knife. Thank you for your video.

That’s awesome brother! I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
You need to take a video when you do, we wanna see it in action!
Absolutely. Will do. I’m excited to give it a good work out.
WOW! is that a nice knife! So much hard work! THankYou for sharing! very insightful of what goes into a superior quality knife.
That definitely is THE ultimate Bowie knife. Your most beautiful work when it comes to Bowies, in my opinion.
Man, you are an artist. I'm a surgeon and I appreaciate a quality job like this... It's beatiful to see a person like you in action. Have a nice day, cheers from Czech Republic !!
Freerk, that is one beautiful knife and just think it will last hundreds of years after you’re gone. What a legacy you are leaving the world.
Yes sir

There are no words to describe it.
You, sir, take the term "Artisan" to a whole new level.
Arthur, John and the gang would be amazed by that knife you made
what I like is the templates you have just knocking around your work shop! I am making one but only with a 4inch blade and 5inch wooden handle made from Rosewood, a good solid carvable wood. I just haven't got anything I can hold and carve things with. Enjoy watching. thanks for sharing.

I can fucking hear this comment
I heard this comment
This is definitely the ultimate Bowie knife. Awesome work.
Congratulations my friend, your work really is of excellence ... I would like to know if you would send a knife of this to the BRAZIL? and what would be the cost? thank you so much
KIRK
That's BEAUTIFUL man! Jim Bowie would be proud.
Bad ass knife good job.
What a huge amount of effort for such an impractical knife.
Congratulations, Sir. Beatiful Bowie knife. Greetings from Brazil! In your opinion, what's the most appropriate stainless steel type to design a Bowie knife like this focused on high resistance and hard working? Congratulations!
I learn so much by watching you create these works of art.Thank you for sharing I wish could afford to buy one of yours knifes ..

You never use cooling liquid for your drillbits or sawmachine??
watching you from Europe Belgium, great job
What an amazing knife as well as the video!!! Was so fun watching all the hard work and detail that went into making that beast!
Mesmerising and impressive. Good to watch a craftsman at work.Well done! I want one now...
That's not a knife that's a short sword pretending to be a knife.
Jon Goat aren’t knife fights great?
actually it's a knife, the guys is just too small, he's a dwarf
The original "Bowie" knife was actually made from a broken cavalry sabre, so it is actually a shortened sword.
Lol I literally thought those exact words before seeing this comment
I just call short swords daggers.......wait.............do people use knives or daggers.........wait aren’t they the same thing? I’m confused.
that knife is georgous what workmanship wow im amazed !!
Watching this makes me wanna learn how to forge weapons
3 months into bladesmithing, ive made 5 knives, 4 smithing tools, and an axe. You can do it. Its challenging, but worth it.
Jus made my first Bowie today, you should definitely get into it, if you haven’t already!
An artist. Very talented. Magnificent work and knife. Chris from Greece.
Go Big Or Go Home... Jim Bowie & Crocodile Dundee Would Be Proud, Now That's A Knife!
you took the word right out of my mouth
Wow! Great knife, vlog, thanks for sharing this beautiful knife and the personal effort you displayed in its making.
A blued steel Bowie knife huh.? I have to admit I have never seen anyone a Forge a Bowie knife with that much skill. Even here in Texas that takes a minimum of a week the forge of Blade that big. It appears only took you maybe a day or two. How much do you want for that Bowie?
@Jay M whoa calm down, let the man estimate you prick
WOW!!! AMAZING SKILL AND CRAFTSMANSHIP!!!!!
how much would that cost?
You know the old saying, "If you have to ask, ...........
Wow, that was beautifully constructed
It's so big that it could have a leather sheath with an extra compartment to hold a gun.
SatanSupimpa hahahahaha
SatanSupimpa in all seriousness a derringer would fit well
Aaron Wag maybe even a Boberg
SatanSupimpa that could work
Muito linda a faca !!!!!!! Parabéns 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏!!!!!!!
That's a beautiful piece that will last a thousand years.
And i'm ready to bet that it costs much less than a Cold Steel or Fallkniven series products

Naza Gesu something with a toilet plunger on it?
lol , there are some cool blades. Even in world of warcraft i've heard of a collectionist who spent 20000 $ years ago for a reproduction of shadowmourne

zombie apocalypse is what comes to mind
Very nice looking blade. I've never produced anything that looks that good to date. Moving leaf spring by hand is no easy task. Very well done.
For someone who really needs an axe. I'm not saying it isn't good workmanship, but for practical purposes it is next to useless.
Truly a comment made out of ignorance. Unless you know what the person had in mind who commissioned this blade, you're not in a position to pass judgment.

Well...if you hunt and prepare your own meat then I nothing is useless. I love a good knife....I thinn thats why I am divorced.....hahaha
Молодец! это лучший отзыв. Well done! this is the best tip.

Very nice shop. Good clean work. I must say I'm not a huge fan of Bowie knives, but this one is very nice. I actually like the way it looks.
Absolutely spectacular craftsmanship.
Now that my friends is an anvil! Superb craftsmanship.
Beautiful well done great craftsmanship not too often I am impressed but I am with you
