Unfortunately, I don’t have any more of these particular belts in stock at this moment as I am focusing more on my custom orders. I typically only ship within the US, Canada and Mexico.
@@Girtyleatherco I understand, for the first time prbat least once, I believe you it exceptional and ship two custom made belts to someone in East Africa.. someone who has admired tour great work. I would love to pay for the two and give you my specifications. Please 🙏
I did not do anything to the inside of these belts; however, you could burnish the flesh side if you wanted. Similar to burnishing edges, you can use gum tragacanth, water and saddle soap, etc. with some canvas or a wooden slicker and burnish the inside fibers. I hope that helps!
I use water and saddle soap as a lubricant to help the edge fibers lay down and seal up as I burnish them. I have a full length video over how I finish edges that explains more in depth!
Have you tried sewing your belts without the stitched groove then hammering down the stitch.. I hand sew and can pull the stitch below the surface. Not sure how tight the machine can pull..
I don't think I have tried that. I still hand stitch a few small projects but for the most part I just use my Cobra and groove the line. I don't groove a line on thinner projects though.
Yeah I'm trying to convince myself I need a sewing machine.. I'm really looking for a landis 3 needle and awl. I figure it's a compromise between old school and new school
@@JohnJohn-xb1sn I love a good hand stitch, but from a business perspective, it’s hard for a lot of people to understand the cost behind it when you do it on larger projects that take much more time to complete because of it
Wow, this is amazing 👏
Thank you!
@@Girtyleatherco I would love to get one or two, Can you export outside the country?

Great video - thank you. Questions: (1) Did you treat/finish the flesh side of the leather? (2) If yes, please, what product and steps?

It’s just water, and then after that was glycerin saddle soap! I will try to add an updated list in the description soon!
Great video! When you make your border lines, how far from the sides do you make them?
I usually come in 1/8” from the edge!
