I have a 2000 mercedes benz e320 but I live in SoCal and want to cut the mufflers and resonators out but don't know if I can take them out, especially when trying to pass smog testing. Do you think I should do it and will pass smog? If so, should I just cut the mufflers or resonator and muffler?
Saahim Siddiqui hey bro, honestly as long as you don’t mess with the cats, i feel like you should be good with passing smog. however, if you want to be safe just cut the mufflers out, you’ll for sure pass smog; won’t be as loud as the muff & res, but safer. also you just gotta look around for shops that advertise “no pass no pay” those guys usually more chill and should pass you for the right price. any other qs lmk below, i responded quicker to my Instagram dm @oc_lexus
@@mikeyjimenez6054 the reason i said its obvious is because its sounds better than my car, this one sounds more like a hot rod, and mine is also straight piped, i actually have a video its in my channel if you wannt hear it and see the difference

OC Lexus awesome bro, thanks for the quick reply. I just uploaded my stock sound. I’m definitely giving you a shoutout when I get the delete done. Appreciate the quick help 💪
MilanSerb for sure man, glad to be a help to your probably first mod, you'll love it bro but I'll def be on the lookout for your vid when you get it done!
So I had my middle resonator deleted and he put straight pipe. Literally didnt do anything. Then i removed my muffler also, now its too loud: what do i do bro. Too much rasp now. He said I still have 2 small resonators ( kinda like cats)?
Gainsbruh Yes so if you deleted your muffler AND resonators it’ll sound like the one in the video... really loud and raspy at higher RPMs. In order to have at least some sound but still not be too raspy and obnoxious, i’d suggest to put back your resonator you deleted in the middle and just have a “muffler delete” Stock everything, just mufflers deleted. Good luck 👍🏼
OC Lexus i was thinking that too bro. What would be the differnce between doing that vs putting muffler badk on and deleting the other 2 small resonators? Im asking cuz yo when I removed the resonator literally nothing happened. Sounded like stock. So im hesitant putting it back wouldnt do shit you know? Alot of $ back and forth
Gainsbruh Gainsbruh So with muffler delete you still get sound. If you decide to put hack stock mufflers and leaving the resonators straight piped, it wouldn’t be too loud at all, like when you first heard it you said you didn’t hear anything. it’s solely preference so just do whatever is best for you! I am sure putting res back and keep muffler deleted there will be sound still. just look up videos of muffler delete on the benz so you get a better idea what it’ll sound! Do research before you spend of course.
“Rev it, it’s a piece of shit anyway” what a good friend!
Hes joking
Only a true friend would say something like that 😂
the cameraman that called this tank a piece of shit, he got no clue about cars, w211 the best✌
For real!
I owned a e320 with 145k miles and it was one of my favorite cars i ever owned reliable and super comfortable to drive i would definitely buy another

Dude put the mufflers back on, leave the resonator out. and take care of your car. E500 sell for the same price so maybe try to upgrade.

head to a muffler shop and ask for a ‘muffler delete and resonator delete’

What type of engine is it 3.2 l V6 and what exactly did you do just take off the muffler and resonator
