If I'm being honest with you, your pricing is way too expensive. a lot of us don't have enough income to even pay what you're asking. Some of us don't have any income at all. If you could offer sliding scale payment options or even full ride scholarships to a few people a year who really can't afford it, that would be amazing.
You know what I think is critical? Other children in school, and parents often have too negative expectation and so it doesn't work. It needs to be people who you can "look good" for. When it's people that don't expect much from us or who give us negative vibes (steal Dopamine) it just doesn't work. And this is why in class in school I couldn't do anything and mothers want to dominate and we want to avoid domination and ourselves, well we are to easy or dismissive of our own view of ourself. This is what I wanted and didn't know existed like this!
Bro people rarely make such detailed videos and give every step of their story the way u did. Dont ever stop making these types of documentaries just because 90% of the people arent interested in them. The rest 10% hugely appreciate it and it gives them a sense of security and believability
being called "smart" but then "lazy" (or similarly contexed word) in the same breath throughout life, has got to be up there in the top 10 ADHD traumas that messes you up
31 minutes in and I am BLOWN AWAY! I used to call people to “body double” to get things done housework wise but as a musician/producer it’s HARD! You put into words a struggle I could never quite grasp. THANK YOU!
The Limitless Pill moment is 100% accurate. I spent 5 years at uni struggling through the first 3 years of law with SHIT grades - pre diagnosis. My favourite tutor said im not a bad student, she recognized my adhd behaviour bc her son has it and told me I should see a specialist. Then within 1 year of getting diagnosed, i finished 2 years worth of study with great grades, completed 2 placements, got my first good job, a huge promotion and first job as a lawyer. My relationships are better, I feel more like myself, I've started actually working on my hobbies and I'm even better looking too, because I don't get stuck inside playing games all week long now. The difference is unbelievably huge. My life went from a 6 to a 10/10 almost instantly. Life is easy, its fun and you can just do everything you want to now. If you think you might have adhd please get dianogised, you won't understand how much better everything is afterwards. Vyvanse is a huge part of how I deal with it, but I've seen others have an experience using it that's similar to the author's.
I hope you are right. My situation is quiete similar. I study law too and it sucks, my grades are down the drain bad, I dont even pass most exams on first try. My parents were holding me back at receiving help... but I have to admit that I need a diagnosis and help.
I study at a target university and was recently diagnosed with ADHD. I initiated the process because of my first ever panic attack caused by the enormous workload I had to tackle. Since then I changed my life around: I exclusively work in co-working spaces and choose my friends very selectively. In addition I purposefully tap into my natural curiosity for almost everything. Topics that seem uninteresting at first glance can be intricate and beautiful on close inspection. All in all this helped me achieve great things. But I still feel down a lot as everyone does and especially we do. But in these pits I try to picture my dreams and compare myself to people that inspire me - this gets me going like it's a matter of life and death. I do not let ADHD dictate my life. Telling yourself over and over again that you are great in what you do and that you can achieve what you want to achieve, even if it seems absurd from an outside perspective or you're not there yet, but who tf is gonna believe in yourself if you don't even believe in yourself. ffs as someone with ADHD you have to be a bit over-self-confident. Because we tend to be the opposite. My Why in this world is not your Why, but when you finally find yours, you'll go to the moon.
I saw this happen to myself but didn't realize how essential it is. For me it's simply going to the electronic library at college and sitting near people who are doing homework. Didn't realize how powerful it was until I watched this. Thanks.
I was diagnosed with ADHD (combined)this year. I am 52, the only benefit I can see about my ADHD is my lack of caring about the future. I have had the following jobs, policeman, private security contractor, bodyguard, night club bouncer, salesman and chef. With a brief stint as a bus driver. One thing I have had an ephihany about. You can never be anyone but yourself. I have an extremely strong attraction to jobs or activities that are potentially lethal. I have no fear of death, it doesn't even factor into my decision making process. My entire life I have been masking trying to fit in and please others. When all I want to do is be in the most chaotic places facing danger because that is the only time I feel normal and be myself. I refuse to medicate myself.
* not caring about tomorrow * no fear of death * nowing answers/outcome in advance * 6th sense * talkativety/communicativity * fenomenal fokus on very interesting tasks * unlimited sense of justice so so so relatable 🤘 (50 y.o., not on medications, still me...and have the job the same as one of yours 🫡) 💪😉
Funny, I can relate to the many different Jobs. But I have a strong fear of death and a potentially catastrophic future, yet I still have risky hobbies and do dangerous/stupid things on a regular basis.
I am 51 and feel the same. ADHD diagnosed in Psychiatric Hospital few months ago. It was that bad with me. Now additionaly menopause. A litteraly think that my life goes to the end.
Thank you so much for all the work you have done for so many. I've just been diagnosed, and I am going to start on medication. From what I have learned ADHD'ers typically stop using drugs after 1-2 years. I asked my psychiatrist about this, and he said it often was because of depression, that was linked to not regulating the doses along the way. I will give it a try. But I am no dreamer (anymore), and I love my ADHD-traits of creativity, multi-ideamaking, being present and funny, even if nobody else does. Well. I watch your videos with gratitude and interest. You have already taught me a lot. Keep on being real to yourself. Respect.
Personally I’ve found (& also my adhd friends would agree) that Ritalin, Concerta and mediknet cause emotional flatness to the point of being a zombie, whereas Dexampetamine and elvanse (the slow acting version of it) give you a lift (not a high) and it eliminated my depression immediately. Seeing as I’d been wrongly diagnosed with major depressive disorder for over 30 years, to have it instantly obliterated in one tablet and to just feel ‘normal’ was a true miracle. The reason they prescribe the first lot first is down to cost only. (At least in the U.K.) So don’t be afraid to try them all if need be! Never had adderall so can’t comment on that. Elvanse keeps your brain awake and ‘on’ but you should eat a protein meal before taking it, it takes up to 2 hours to kick in and you may find you go off food and can’t sleep on it. For me Dexampetamine was much better as when it wore off I realised I was hungry and could eat, and I could also sleep fine! Elvanse is just Dexampetamine with l-lysine (an amino acid) that slows it down - however you need l-lysine to stop cold sores and if you’re prone to them I found it can make them come back. Not seen that info anywhere else though! Good luck! 😊
how comforting its to hear that there is hope, and a way to manage this. when your prime years are behind you and have nothing going in life and just found out You have ADHD to realize that you had it for long and had been growing to be worse…. you desperately need to hear these hopeful voices… Thanks for those videos!!
Just wanna say, haven't even watched this video particularly yet but I saw your other one and it's very rare a video can fully capture my attention span. You basically described my entire life in that other video and it's insane to think that there are thousands of others, JUST like me.
I cried a little watching this. I have ADHD and other disabilities. I am late-diagnosed. I’m on medication, in therapy, and am still struggling. My son is also struggling and it breaks my heart. I’m definitely looking into this. This is the first program that looks both affordable and effective. Affordability is very important to me, since I am currently on SSI .
You know you've reached your target audience when most comments complain about the length of the video, perfect! 🤣Gonna be listening as a podcast when I meal-prep or something xD
Bro this is literary my story, your past is my present , I'm 28 years old now , I feel that I wasted my youthful years forcing myself to achieve something doing handwork, took a lot stress , put all effort to keep myself focus but still i didn't achieve anything till day. God knows what future hold for me
I just quit my job today and UA-cam recommended your videos and I was confused about why. But after watching this one I know it’s because UA-cam just found a new job for me. Thanks bro! I never would’ve considered to market myself this way but it’s so crystal clear. You are a lifesaver!!!!!
I have ADHD, and Tourette’s syndrome, I’m also a Christian and I honestly felt spiritually, mentally, and emotionally lost because of what my adhd has been putting me through. I thank Yeshua, for every doctor, specialist, and teacher that has helped me and I just want to say thank you for helping me understand my ADHD through your videos and God is seriously working through you to help people. God bless you brother 👌
Amen 🙏 I think that god has placed me in the perfect timeframe because had I been born earlier and wasn’t able to find resources/relatability for what I am going through idk what I’d do with myself lol. Sometimes it feels like things are hopeless, but it’s always the little things that god does for us that helps us in the end. God bless brother/sister
@@madj7152He hears and answers - in His way and His time, not ours. 😔 But His way is always best and with a purpose. Hold on to the hope you have in Christ. Before we know it, we will be in His presence, and all these trials that bother us now will not even be a thought in our minds. "He makes all things work together for good to those who love Him." 📖🙏✝️😇❤️🐑🤗
@@madj7152hey, I struggle with this. He can heal you but have you considered that your adhd isn’t something to be healed? It’s been long known now that ADHD is just a different pattern of thinking from the neurotypical. It also means you probably have a calling that requires the traits that come from ADHD. Even if that’s not the case, God has a will for our lives. If mines to deal with this neurodivergent brain then alright. Just let God have it and never, ever think he isn’t listening. He hears you, it’s just going to be on his timing. The prayer will get answered but it’ll be through his will and that means maybe you’ll gain the understanding of why you have this or that it’ll be healed. Just trust him and you’ll find a solution.
Please make a video about ADHD and social interactions. Why is it so hard for persons with ADHD to find people to vibe with ? I have a huge difficulty in this area . How can we make social interactions more appealing through our non neurotypical brains ?
Best hack is, go to wired places and find the strange people. Other Neurodivergents are supreme choices and the highly extroverted open minded ones as well.
Find other ADHD'ers. In my experience we uncounsiously attract echt other. Got diagnosed 2 months ago and found out a lot of my friends have been diagnosed aswell
ADHD can be basically broken down into your inability to focus on things that do not give you enough dopamine/happyness. Thats already the explanation for your issue, I believe, but the important thing to note here is that the person you are trying to vibe with doesnt really matter as much in this regard. If you, at that moment, are not immediately impressed or drawn into by that person, then its hard for you to vibe with them, because your brain is already trying to convince you to look elsewhere or listen to that weird sound or was there a cat? Etc. Best trick that worked for me was paying attention to whoever I'm talking to. I'll try to find something interesting, either in their looks or in what they talk to me about and focus on that in the conversation. Smalltalk is just really painful for people like us, so try to skip it whenever possible and talk about something that interests you. If there is currently nothing interesting to talk about, but you still want to like this person, maybe their reactions are cute enough whenever you trigger them. I like to do that sometimes. Very important to let THEM do the interesting talking though. If you just talk about whatever interests you, it can be quite bothersome for the other person and if anything you're more vibing with yourself at that point. But if they are able to talk about something thats new and exciting for you, thats a great way to enter a new relationship. Because you have it technically easier to hyperfocus on something that interests them as well, its very easy to make new friends thanks to ADHD (sounds weird but its true), especially if they are driven by something that you can empathically latch onto. tl;dr: Find people who are interesting or have hobbies/dreams/ideas that you would enjoy learning more about. Its simultaneously educational, sociable and works great with your ADHD hyperfocus special ability.
Everything about the format of this video screams "It's just marketing. Don't fall for it!" but so much rings true, and and seems like it's coming from genuine personal experience, I think I have to try it. If you're just another con man in this community, it will be the last straw for my ADHD brain (45 years in), and I will lose all hope.
Had actually hoped this would tell something useful but halfway through start talking about a service he sells 🙄 The method itself might actually work or not, but this is a giant red flag. It almost certainly would not work for me anyways, being somewhat on the spectrum peer pressure does not work for me, it just makes me feel miserable.
Thank you for this video. I recently just got diagnosed with adhd and these types of videos are so helpful especially since mental health resources are scarce in my country.
i got ADHD so bad i just binge watched loads of these videos. Its like watching the last 10 years of my life. These days im a trader. Perfect for me. The market open in the morning - set time each week day, does not care if you show up, it will start without you. Fixed times, fixed tasks, focus all day. Also if i dont cycle 40km in the morning - might as well have the day off as my brain gets stuck in the **** it loop.
I have not been diagnosed with ADHD and for real I don’t give a fuck about a Diagnose. I just want to live my life and be happy. I can relate to so many difficulties this guy spoke of and watching this made me feel like crying, but I can’t because I am so overwhelmed, that I feel nothing. I hope ya’ll find your way to be happy about what you will be doing in your life and be able live it to the fullest. I know that one day I will make it…I hope y’all make it and find your peace. Because we can’t give up man Wish y’all the best!!!
Definitely don't give up! And do your best to engineer your environment to not allow you to do anything else besides work on what you need to get done.
Dude. I clicked on this video on a fucking whim. I always knew something was going wrong with me and it took until you explained the questions your psychiatrist asked to realize it was ADHD, you literally had me on the verge of tears. Thank you.
I’m surprised and having a hard time believing it myself, but what happened to you and all of your experiences mirrors what I’m going through right now. I was also academically bright when I was young but struggle to apply myself in daily life and achieve success. I felt a sense of relief when I started subscribing to your channel and watching your videos. I was diagnosed with ADHD three years ago and still taking medication but I am still not doing well.I am planning to watch your videos, shorts and tips. I hope you can help guide me to overcome this weaknesses and unleash my productivity self so I can become a better person than I am now. I stay in your channel for a while. Thank you Nick.
Wonderful video. I have severe ADHD. Have mastered many random things in a short time but then I completely have no other interest in it (other than my external job). Literally used to take a ton of my Adderall and try to master meditation. I’ve learned its best to just start completing tasks before I even acknowledge that I’m doing it. Once I get started, it seems to flow easier.
The only way to avoid procrastination is to go to a Library/cafe/join a study with me session on UA-cam. Aka don't be alone when fighting procrastinating
As a writer with ADHD, I totally agree! I go to bookstores, coffee shops, etc. I am productive in these environments. Home is not a productive space unless it's late at night. Why is this? Any thoughts? Thank you!
I just wish we could have internal motivation like a neurotypical but we cant. We are externally motivated like a child because our frontal lobes haven’t matured as well, group accountability just makes sense.
I don't have ADHD but all of that typical stuff to get organized, planners and meditation and stuff never worked for me. So I decided to watch something different, and I'm thinking of doing the group accountability but I've bad social anxiety 😭
I now understand why my "study beer" strategy worked so well in college. The night before an exam, I would open ONE (it's important to not drink more than one) beer while I studied. The beer must have fed my brain just enough dopamine to keep the info interesting.
hey man im turning 19 soon, i am so glad i watched this entire video. you are such an awesome human, so damn talented at content creation. i need a turning point in my life where i truly grow up and make the world my own. it takes hard word, which is something ive struggled with so much from this condition. im going to join your group. thankyou
Just wanted to say thanks, I am happy you have been able to become a content creator and have a bit of success. I am also a recently diagnosed ADHD and realize most of the problems in life are directly related to being ADHD as a kid. The first 10 minutes of your video seemed like you were (mostly) describing what I went through also.
Woww, I'm mind blown by the work you've been putting in getting a fix for us ADHDers and yourself. I've been following you since quite sometime and I can clearly see the ADHD frustrations you've been through as you described in the early parts of this video which is my current state also and then see you transition into finding success after you trying 'n' number of methods and finally finding something that works is so so inspiring that yeah, we def can find success, we just got to keep tryinG!! We can def sense the energies changing through the video in a positive way and hopefully want to join soon! Thank you so much Nik for all that you do for the community!! 💫💫
@alexchow9629 Yeaaa I'd do that a total of 2 times before purposefully chucking the damn timer across the room in a way where it would slide under a piece of furniture to be found again many months later.
@@alexchow9629 Now and than I reinstall Brili on my phone. The routines version. Like preset flashcards every card has a time limit with a "you're halfway your task"-sound, a "one minute left" sound and a "finish task now" alarm. I whipe the card and next task shows up. For the cleaning bathroom deck it starts with 'Put towels & Mats into wash' for 2 minutes. I just installed the free trial for 10 days again. It's moments like this I remember this app.
It’s gotten really bad for me currently in college and if I don’t respect the teacher, don’t care about impressing them, or won’t receive any repercussions immediately following not getting an assignment done I’ll have absolutely no urgency whatsoever to finish them, weeks later I’ll get a 0 and convince myself it’s ok there’s still this this and that to boost my mark I can pass no problem next thing I know cycle repeats and I fail a class yet when it comes to someone who I’ll feel insanely ashamed of letting down or there’s an instant repercussion to it a switch clicks and I can power through it, regardless of that it’s typically rushed and hardly my best work but I still finish
I have ADHD and procrastinated since first grade with the Nuns at OLG in the Bronx in 1957. As usual I won’t watch your video but will save it to my playlist and MAYBE I will look at it later. Haha, get it?
😂just stopit‼️ I've created a playlist 🎉 I have many. I also like to collect things to do later. I love pinterist. Full of great ideas to collect 😑 and save for later. I need someone to shake me. I feel hopeless it's all just getting too much
it's tempting, but isn't it another thing we get started with and get bored with after 3 weeks? will probably try this anyways... anyone else watching the video at 1,5 speed feeling they are more productive?
Exactly, I know I will procrastinate logging on to the group, because I will feel like I’m unmotivated to do the task, that I need to share with the group. I will feel guilty wasting time in the group in case I’m not productive or embarrassed that I am not doing it fast enough.
Yeah as someone who has tried the study buddy method, I’d suggest whatever app you use to simulate this you have notifications turned ON for that person (your accountability partner) specifically AND make sure there is an innate trait that you really like about them. The high regard you have for them will cause you to want to put your best foot forward for them. If you interact with the person beyond studying (like, talking about life and whatnot) it shouldn’t get boring. Chances are, for him, there may have been a sense of financial guilt if he didn’t check in because of how expensive it was, so that may have helped him as well. The financial guilt probably went away when he split the price but at that point he had a whole community counting on him so the personal accountability was tenfold. Also, honestly sometimes I don’t get bored of something as easily. I used to have a planner that was undated and it had a unique layout. I kept using it until it started falling apart (only a couple months in 😔). So usually the boredom kicks in and sometimes it doesn’t which is why I give everything a try. Because you may have found that one thing that will never bore you. If it’s something you’re really worried abt, I’d suggest alternating between study methods. Usually after 3 weeks, the previous “boring” method may have gained some novelty or “nostalgia” to it.
Please keep up your great contribution to ADHD understanding and coping strategies and also THANK YOU. your video sounded like a flash back i graduated from medical school in 2010 without knowing i have ADHD after a peroid of struggling i tried to study in campus halls surrounded by other students studying and it worked every time although i had trouble revising before exams because of Anxiety but i managed to pass allmy exams anyway. My tip for this is frequent breaks with light excercise like walking and small meals and snacks. You need also to change sceneries and try different halls and group of people.
I have found a great many of your tips and insights very helpful. I'm asking this respectfully and with genuine curiosity, and I know it's going to probably come off otherwise so... here goes the question: What can introverts with ADHD (+ other conditions) and social anxiety (like myself) do to get the same effect as your focus group? I see some potential anchor points in what you said here, but it all fell apart for me when you suggested involving other people. Any thoughts?
I was searching the comments for this very point. Everything sounds amazing and I know the session isn't inherently social as most of it is spent working, but I don't want to swap my executive functioning anxiety for social anxiety either.
@@lilliereadsalot I think there is no easy answer to this. Probably just have to find a different source of 'pressure' that makes our gears turn into something productive.
First off, you're the first person to actually describe what having ADHD is like. I'm an artist and dj and can attest to the social facilitation theory and the audience effect. Sometimes just thinking about people watching me gives me a boost of dopamine and sometimes go live illustrating and the audience effect happens,. You want to perform at your best and impress others that are watching you. If im in the room with someone doing work its not the same, but if someone is actively watching me do something I get a sense of performing like when I would dj in front of an audience. Unfortunately I do my work alone in my office and have fell of social media where I would do art releases so my sense of social community is also gone and I have been struggling with executive paralysis because of this.
If this video seems long for someone with ADHD, check out some of his shorts. They break down his content in digestible incrimiments. Then you can start learning now, and come back to this video when your brain is ready for longer content and more submersive learning.
All the comments are people saying how this video describes their life. Okay, same, but is there anyone who this doesn’t apply to? It feels a little bit like a horoscope. Is there anyone actually doing work on time, not feeling anxious about upcoming deadlines you’ve been ignoring, not being creative and thinking they’re right where they’re supposed to be in terms of their achievements?
I find it absolutely hysterical that these videos are so long and verbose. I put that shit on 1.5 and get to it because they are full of pure gold. Plus I LOVE long form video essays so this is my JAM!!
Sadly this is me and I so need this .. but I am unfortunately hit with severely dyslexic, so I really want to do this but I have to get a job to get my stuff together so I can afford it. I can't even afford my life but thank you
"Why am I like this" and all those exact questions I keep asking me. It's crazy that how your journey is relatable to my situation rn. But your video is like a new hope for me I really want to make it work
No joke. At 40 I went to my doc in a major depressive state. I already had an adhd diagnosis and was on medication so we started antianxiety meds. We tried so many different meds. Nothing worked. Then one day she suggested we go on adderall. I had been on all these other meds but no one had ever suggested adderall even though I had the adhd diagnosis. After taking those meds my whole life changed. I couldn’t be without my meds. It was such a switch up for me. I purposefully take breaks from the meds. Let them over prescribe them for me so I always have them when I need them and I used the burst it gives me to change other habits in my life that make everything better. But if I took the amount they say I need then I would never sleep again and I’d be an aggressive jittery mess.
@@dc345601 Well, on the basic level i see myself and my own ADHD issues in his stories, and it motivates me to see them for what they are - and look for solutions. 1. Notice negative self talk, but choose not to believe it 2. There’s no failure: Just progress 3. We need the challenge that comes with growth. How about you?
Not many people know about non stimulants for medication treatments. Guanfacine has been a game changer for me. It is not covered by my insurance for mediation. So I have pay $160 out of pocket for 30 days. But it has been so beneficial for me. 🩵
Thank you so much for sharing! You are a freaking legend! God bless you! 🔥 You gave me an idea to try this with my fellow uni students 🙏🏼 and I`m so proud of you!
I can relate to your story 100%. It literally feels like the story of my life. I have spent so much money and even more time myself in so many tricks and techniques to overcome my ADHD symptoms including medication(ritalin, aderall, strattera, SSRIs), 10s of meditation techniques, so many tools like pomodoro, journaling and what not. I dont think i have left out any domain of solution discussed in reasearch papers or even generic websites. While I appreciate the work you are doing and your intentions but from my own experience this method is very impractical and would fail quicker than all of the techniques. I dont mean to discredit the hard work and effort you have put but there are some techniques that genuinely help managing my severe symptoms of ADHD but this is definitely not going to work atleast for me. I would be happy to discuss these techniques that work for me if you’d like. My techniques have helped me focus and work all day long

4:27 reminds me that, I often say that I am a Mac in a Windows world. Windows doesn't understand Mac files and Mac doesn’t understand Windows files without converting, and it's almost always the Mac that has to convert its files because Windows rarely bothers to try to understand the Mac. It's funny that, even though we make up only a small percentage of the population, it's often those of us with ADHD or other neurodiverse brains who are behind the most innovative solutions, especially in technology. Many of us have probably experienced that feeling of being able to 'sync' our thoughts with a stranger, only to find out they also have ADHD. I consider those situations very rare among neurotypical to neurotypical. We struggle with structure and planning - things that are quite necessary to bring good ideas to life. Often, others end up taking credit for our ideas or shooting them down because we can't completely 'convert' them to their way of thinking. Even if we get 90% of the way in understanding their system, we still feel like it's our fault if we don't make it the last 10%. With ADHD, you often have unique perspectives, especially when combined with high intelligence, but creating structure, planning, and consistently bringing an idea to life can be a significant challenge for us with ADHD. Society generally looks down on these difficulties - you can easily be perceived as lazy, for example. Ironically, it’s often the same people who criticize us who could greatly benefit from our perspectives. Their strength lies in acting on a good idea, but they are rarely the ones who come up with them. Imagine an invention created by an inventor who has spent years developing a brilliant prototype. The inventor has a unique vision and talent but struggles to find the right resources or team to take the idea the final step to market. Another person - let’s call them the “producer” - sees the potential in the invention and takes it under their wing. Because the producer has the necessary contacts, resources, and the ability to structure a business plan, they end up receiving all the credit, money, and recognition for the invention. But the invention would never have come to be without the inventor’s unique vision and creative effort. Even though the producer might not have been able to come up with the idea themselves, they still get the credit because they can navigate the system, follow processes, and take the lead. What is often forgotten is that it was the inventor who created the original concept - and without them, there would be nothing to realize. Or in a group setting, whether at school or work: The “ADHD (Mac)” person presented an idea that the “Windows people” once agreed to dismiss, but it may resurface later, once their subconscious has processed it long enough, and suddenly they feel like the great inventors of something groundbreaking. Forget about getting the credit you deserve - it’s one of those situations where ignorance and lack of understanding get rewarded. Ironically, these stories almost always end with only one loser: the person with the creative mind. When the idea reappears, and they present it as something brilliant, the person with ADHD might say, “That’s exactly what I suggested two weeks ago.” But that comment is usually met with indifference, and if the person insists on receiving even a small amount of recognition, they are often seen as petty or childish. This makes it harder for them to be acknowledged in the future within the group, as the social hierarchy takes over and downplays the significance of what the person with ADHD has to say. It’s an incredible injustice to experience. When you’ve been criticized your whole life for your difficulties, and when you finally bring something valuable to the table, you are still denied the credit. In many cases, the only thing left is the stigmatized image of the person, and that is something that intelligent individuals with ADHD, after experiencing this countless times, grow extremely tired of. What do you suggest, Nick @ADHDVision ? How do you protect your ideas so you don’t end up just helping others with all sorts of problems without getting any credit for it?
How’d you even write this essay and have ADHD? It would’ve taken me a month to do this 90% of the way and then another week to procrastinate it, forget it, and never post it.
I love your videos thank you for putting in the effort for us! Although the videos are very entertaining I had to come back a second time to finish the 52min video 😂❤
I don't even know if i have adhd or not.. I just really know the cycle, of trying everyday, telling yourself that everyday is a new day, using every grain of your willpower, and even succeeding.. until you realise that to achieve that so called "perfect day".. a day without mistakes, in which everything is done on time exactly how it should be... It was taking an insane amount of effort, so much so that i couldn't sustain, and i ended up in severe burnout.. Now I am scared of putting more effort than is necessary.. I find it difficult to organize myself and am anxious everyday
IVe never been diagnose yet. My brother and both sisters are taking meds to keep focus. IVe never asked myself why i was forgetting stuff as i was walking in my house. IVe always felt like all chores in Life are a mountain of efforts. My evenings and free time are now reserved to read and watch tips and tricks on UA-cam.😅 Im still evaluating the best calendar and task solution to apply. I feel like im always changing my mind about the tools to use.

Search for someone who can hold you accountable for the next 30 minutes up to an hour. Can be family or friends, can be remote with a call / video call. Tell them what you want to achieve the next 30 minutes and start working under their supervision. After the time is up review what you've accomplished in that time with the supervising person.
Is it nessesary to get dependant on somebody? Because I think some of us like to be self bonded... We don't wanna tell anybody what we r facing because the might judge us or they won't understand us... Cause they r not facing problems just like us adhders
Does using an imaginary friend or object like plushie worked? Or is it still will be a strong struggle? Like mr. Bean for example doing his tasks with his teddy
@@Ash_NOVAHQhyper independence can be a trauma response (I do it, too) but if you have someone in your inner circle you trust, body doubling can be kinda fun & a weird way to bond with your favorite people
I love this but how about the people that struggle with things like working out and going on walks? Do they carry around a computer or phone to be on the calls to do this?
i have ADHD too, and want so desperately to better myself, especially after how much of an impact the first video had on me. And while i do understand that it's hard to sit and focus for 52 minutes straight (Trust me I will struggle a lot too), it's an insane amount of ungrateful people in here complaining about the length & holding the uploader accountable as if he's done something wrong? He's literally made an in depth tutorial on how to drastically improve lives and all i can i see so many negative comments pertaining to the length? Like at least take a minute to appreciate the level of effort; i'm sure that MAKING a 52 minute video wasn't easy on someone with an ADHD brain either. thank you for your efforts, i'm gonna watch this video in shorter, more digestible chunks to make it easier for myself :)
Nik, Thank you so much, my life is actually starting to make sense after 26 years of struggle, and it's all because of you. for years I used to say if I became a millionaire the first thing I'd do is hire an army drill Sargent to make sure I get stuff done, seems I wasn't so far from reality. once again thank you for improving lives 😀
German here as well, and same, everybody always told me I was lazy, that I didn't want to do things I had no interest in. yet my grades were okay even tho I rarely bothered to do my homework and rarely learned for tests. now I'm in therapy (at nearly 40yo), let's see what we find out. but these videos are already super helpful to feel better and to learn some tricks for learning and doing that paperwork I never understood (I also got help from a social worker with that), etc. so I'm defo not lazy, or I wouldn't be where I am now. so for those who got that kinda feedback: look at your lives, and assess, with honesty and kindness toward yourselves, what you already achieved. including the small stuff; sometimes life is super hard and even the smallest accomplishment is a huge victory in context.
I believe that adhd is something that develops in a child's developing brain. To high negative reinforcement and to low positive reinforcement locks the child's brain in a defensive state. When a child become to focused on not doing things wrong instead of doing things things correct. One might think does two things are the same but they are not. There are endless ways of doing things wrong and usually only a few correct answers/ways to things.
Ole, it took me a few minutes to understand everything you wrote. but your comment was worth deciphering - the issue was spelling. “To” should be spelled “too” in three places, and “does” should be “those.” Good comment.
i think you're on to something.. how many ADHD kids had narcissistic parents that "Nothing was ever good enough." rarely ever recieved praise when they did requested task, but God forbid they screwed up because they absolutely would get punished but rarely praised or rewarded.
I love this kid. He knows his sh*t and I believe that he genuinely wants to do good and build an ADHD community. It’s spooky how relatable his anecdotes are and his ADHD hacks rule. However, I’m getting major Trudeau, Mega-Memory vibes? (you know you all have a memory palace) And it was way too long, read the room young man. …with love, big fan.) 🐶++
Sometimes I've questioned if my diagnosis of having ADHD is real and then these videos remind me what I'm like, do you use these tools with meds? Can't imagine I could do without them😩
Wow, thank you for this video, this is exactly how I feel, like I live in a world that is operating on a different operating system that is not compatible with my internal operating system. thank you, hearing that others feel this way and have gone through this gives me hope.
First. You're videos are great! I have ADHD and your videos are really helpful. I'm trying to start my own UA-cam channel or Podcast soon and I think it would be absolutely great to perhaps, just maybe have you in one of them? I know it's a far leap from a random viewer. Nonetheless, I will continue to watch your videos :) Saviour for sure. Guys. This is a random request. I would be forever thankful to everyone who might be able to get attention to this comment. Ok, let's give this a try!
@@laureninstlouis Did it work as well as they advertised?
Bro people rarely make such detailed videos and give every step of their story the way u did. Dont ever stop making these types of documentaries just because 90% of the people arent interested in them. The rest 10% hugely appreciate it and it gives them a sense of security and believability
I appreciate you💙
@adhdvision I've just found you, I'm 48 and you've explained my life in 2 videos so I'm here for the 3rd. Thank you & please never stop this 🙏👑💯✨️
Hey, "gaming high priest ".... Maybe that 90% are the ones who are plagued with ADHD and are the ones who just get DISTRACTED! 😂😂😂..... That's ME!
being called "smart" but then "lazy" (or similarly contexed word) in the same breath throughout life, has got to be up there in the top 10 ADHD traumas that messes you up
DOH 😂
❤
My childhood in a nutshell! Ohh he could do much better, he's terribly smart, but lazy. I JUST COULDN'T (and still can't) FOCUS!!!!
Yep 100%. The trauma from how I was treated is worse than the adhd itself.

Listened to it in the background while on my motorbike
It’s very listenable! 😅

Today I took medication for the first time and I cried because I have never felt so peaceful. I can relax myself physically but this mental peace.
Hey^^. Can i ask what type of medication do you take? For adhd or something else?
* not caring about tomorrow
* no fear of death
* nowing answers/outcome in advance
* 6th sense
* talkativety/communicativity
* fenomenal fokus on very interesting tasks
* unlimited sense of justice
so so so relatable 🤘 (50 y.o., not on medications, still me...and have the job the same as one of yours 🫡)
💪😉
That's right. I can usually only work in dangerous jobs, where there is an increased risk or very unusual and interesting work.
Funny, I can relate to the many different Jobs. But I have a strong fear of death and a potentially catastrophic future, yet I still have risky hobbies and do dangerous/stupid things on a regular basis.
Yes. Not “caring” changed my life too.
Check out Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.
I am 51 and feel the same. ADHD diagnosed in Psychiatric Hospital few months ago. It was that bad with me. Now additionaly menopause. A litteraly think that my life goes to the end.
Who here watched all 52 minutes because they are procrastinating on doing something? 😂

I knew this video existed. I procrastinated it and then used it as a weapon to fuel my procrastination.
Touche!
(At least in the U.K.)
So don’t be afraid to try them all if need be!
Good luck! 😊
You'll never guess what I'm doing right now to avoid doing work
How it even possible:while procrastinating ,I just turn on UA-cam, and there is this video, that I've been seeking for last month.😅
Glad I caught your eye 🙏🏼🔥
I'm here at 3am, knowing i have to be up at a quarter to seven, trying really hard NOT to feel revengeful about procrastinating bed time 🤦♀️
I have been seeking 1 year lol

how comforting its to hear that there is hope, and a way to manage this. when your prime years are behind you and have nothing going in life and just found out You have ADHD to realize that you had it for long and had been growing to be worse…. you desperately need to hear these hopeful voices…
Thanks for those videos!!

This!
@@sjengsnackers7501But how to do that
ADHD can be basically broken down into your inability to focus on things that do not give you enough dopamine/happyness.
Had actually hoped this would tell something useful but halfway through start talking about a service he sells 🙄
The method itself might actually work or not, but this is a giant red flag.
It almost certainly would not work for me anyways, being somewhat on the spectrum peer pressure does not work for me, it just makes me feel miserable.
Hey how did it go? Shall we as well take subscription?
I'm grateful for this material. I'm even more grateful that I can speed this up AND hit Pause!

Thank you!

U have no idea how much you are changing someone's life. Thanks my brother.

If this works, it’s exactly what I need. If it doesn’t really work, I couldn’t afford it.
Being able to switch a task to urgent in our heads would be the solution. But this can't be faked. If there is no due date or time, it's not there.
Sometimes you can do it by starting a stopwatch and timing how quickly you can finish the thing. And you race to the finish. Like a game.
I'm in this picture and i don't like it
Heh. I use 2x - it really helps
Uptown!
Haha 🔥 feel u. Ya it's like a group zoom meeting accountability coach tactic.
Me who would never , may actually do it lol
😂just stopit‼️ I've created a playlist 🎉 I have many. I also like to collect things to do later. I love pinterist. Full of great ideas to collect 😑 and save for later. I need someone to shake me. I feel hopeless it's all just getting too much
it's tempting, but isn't it another thing we get started with and get bored with after 3 weeks? will probably try this anyways...
anyone else watching the video at 1,5 speed feeling they are more productive?
RIGHT !!! Video tooooooo long…
Exactly, I know I will procrastinate logging on to the group, because I will feel like I’m unmotivated to do the task, that I need to share with the group.
Thats the shit we gonna do, everytime xD@@MissEAG
Its like school but for life

@@kodakadenza Do it through DMs with someone likeminded.
By "shorts" You mean... shortcuts or shorter videos?
Man story of my life!!! Thank you for sharing to help me better understand. Diagnosed at 43!!
I'm looking to seriously solve my problems so 52 minutes compared to a lifetime of mistakes is an easy trade

@motc8238 thank you
I find it absolutely hysterical that these videos are so long and verbose. I put that shit on 1.5 and get to it because they are full of pure gold. Plus I LOVE long form video essays so this is my JAM!!
Thank you, my chaos life, finally getting a teacher that really helped my life
Sadly this is me and I so need this .. but I am unfortunately hit with severely dyslexic, so I really want to do this but I have to get a job to get my stuff together so I can afford it.
This really motivated me to get up and try again! Thank you!
What exactly was it that you found motivating in this video?
@@dc345601 Well, on the basic level i see myself and my own ADHD issues in his stories, and it motivates me to see them for what they are - and look for solutions. 1. Notice negative self talk, but choose not to believe it 2. There’s no failure: Just progress 3. We need the challenge that comes with growth. How about you?

Dear sir, I'm changing my ideas on ADHD today. Many thanks.

Or in a group setting, whether at school or work:
The “ADHD (Mac)” person presented an idea that the “Windows people” once agreed to dismiss, but it may resurface later, once their subconscious has processed it long enough, and suddenly they feel like the great inventors of something groundbreaking.
See the rest later, it took me way too long to formulate that message above 😅
How’d you even write this essay and have ADHD? It would’ve taken me a month to do this 90% of the way and then another week to procrastinate it, forget it, and never post it.
I didnt read but i do agree with the most i took..
Totally get you. This had happened to me over and over again. Can't believe you just summarise a sort of story of my life.

Minute 26 and I’m feeling emotional pain because of this never ending talk. Great content, but I have to fast forward, sorry.

Search for someone who can hold you accountable for the next 30 minutes up to an hour. Can be family or friends, can be remote with a call / video call. Tell them what you want to achieve the next 30 minutes and start working under their supervision. After the time is up review what you've accomplished in that time with the supervising person.

Can you tell US the summary?

I was 10 minutes old when I think I found out I have ADHD. Thanks for your videos.
I don’t watch 52 min vids but I did this one. So desperate for hope. It’s been a long journey.
i have ADHD too, and want so desperately to better myself, especially after how much of an impact the first video had on me.

Hey, where's the promised notion template?? :(
This is an absolute carbon copy of what I'm going through. This is incredible
Your struggles…it’s like you are telling my story too.
So it’s the parents fault ? And how to get rid of it?
i think you're on to something.. how many ADHD kids had narcissistic parents that "Nothing was ever good enough." rarely ever recieved praise when they did requested task, but God forbid they screwed up because they absolutely would get punished but rarely praised or rewarded.
