    The Agincourt Defence against the English? It didn't work for the French in 1415 and it didn't work for Anand in 2013.

    The way I see it, Carlsen plays beginning and middle game simply to make sure going into the end game his opponent either doesn’t have an advantage, or if he does it’s slight (both in pieces remaining and position). Because in the endgame, when there are less pieces yet more space to move, his brain goes into ultra instinct. It amazes me every time, it’s like he makes his move knowing how his opponent SHOULD counter until they don’t make the right move, and then knocks them out, where they realize several moves later and wonder where it all went wrong... good example is here with vishy and his move 40

    7:22 Maybe Carlsen should've played Kd6; C pawn prevents king from capturing, and after black bishop takes the C pawn, go Kb7? I may be wrong but that would've saved the knight?

    I have a suggestion that might be able to do the impossible. Yes, this suggestion might make your game analysis discussions even better. Here's the suggestion: While you are describing a line of moves a player could have made but didn't, change the board color slightly to communicate that you're in imaginary mode. That small visual difference would make it easier to follow for less experienced chess enthusiasts.

If the black king approaches to do anythng there e5-e6 (discovered check) and that pawn will queen before black can do anything? Am I wrong? Considering I'm drunk right now! :P

    i have question
    why the "touch rule" is invented and why is still on ?
    if u touch a piece u must move it ? .. why so

    • @elegomeskin
      @elegomeskin 6 років тому +5

      Touching and hanging on to a piece is annoying : it leads to arguments. It's the second most annoying thing in chess. The most annoying : smoking a cheap cigar while playing...

    • @MoiMagnus1er
      @MoiMagnus1er 6 років тому +5

      Why is this rule invented?
      Because that's a "discipline" rule to prevent players from "playing" with the pieces while thinking. You want the board to remain static as long as nobody is making a move, so that both player can think without being disturbed by a stressed opponent that move pieces in randomly while thinking.
      Additional reason to keep it?
      In a world without this rule, here is a strategy you could use: take a piece, fake to intend a move, look at your opponent face, and backtrack.
      So it would add (or significantly increase) the "bluff" part of the game, which is not a insignificant change.
