The World Chess Championship 2013 was a match between reigning world champion Viswanathan Anand and challenger Magnus Carlsen, to determine the 2013 World Chess Champion. It was held from 9 to 22 November 2013 in Chennai, India, under the auspices of FIDE (the World Chess Federation).
Carlsen won the match 6½-3½ after ten of the twelve scheduled games, becoming the new world chess champion. This was heralded by Garry Kasparov and others as the start of a new era in chess, with Carlsen being the first champion to have developed his game in the age of super-strong chess computers.

Brilliant idea, next time playing chess, I'm gonna cover my King with a tweet so nobody can tell where he is!
TimelineUpdates Hahaha nice one
Damn, I stopped the video halfway and came to check comments, is it gonna stay throughout ?
Hahahahahaha
I was compelled to fast forward to see if it vanished
safety is no.1 priority
1:30 you are scratching your leg you are not fixing anything.. admit it
Hahahaha make sure it is a leg and nothing
@@techmath3628 obviously he was scratching leg...otherwise he wouldnt have bent that much😂
I think he is fixing the wiring to his mic. He can't possibly be that itchy all the time, but he does have a dog, so who knows.
Okk bro
Up to 11:20 I believed that Vishy would game the game. Then comes the usual: “unfortunately for Anand Carlsen finds this move...”
Vladislavs Dovgalecs Same
Same here bro
Chess is probably the only sport where the commentary is much more interesting than the actual for the casual spectator.
@@ahmedejaz1125 it is you dipshit. Not all sports has to be physical. Olympics classifies it as a sport.
@@rhettzkie lmao he deleted his comment, good job
@@MatiasMaldona3 it’s not a sport dumbass
Surely *
Definitely*
Giri's tweet has provided a safe house to carlsen's king
Giri was a big part of this game! 😂😂
Ur commentary makes us to virtually feel Anand's emotions on the board with Carlsen against us........
"He will no longer go for e4 and face the Berlin and run into a wall..."
East germans tho
11:14 I remember Carlsen played it pretty quickly (he had calculated it a few moves before), and was surprised at what Anand himself admitted was a blunder.
I see Agadmator and Queen sacrifice. I hit like before watching the whole video.
me 2

*before the advertisement did end
Taking us through Anand's entire thought process is brilliant. Such an enjoyment to watch your videos. Thank you from Brazil
Aww wow! Amazing game! After all these years it's so good to revisit this famous WC match. Poor Anand! He finds such a beautiful move! But Carlsen finds THE ONE MOVE that stops it. Chess history.
My favourite match of all time! It was extremely exciting to watch live
@@bistrovogna how long is one match?
@@kevinh.3865 Usually one game is several hours, and a match is many games (it varies, this match was a best of 12 games). This game in particular was totally wild towards the ending. The commentators (followed several live) were excited: Anands attack and Carlsens spectacular plan for a defense made for incredible lines. And then Anand blundered! It might have been one of the legendary games if it had been played out.
Antonio in previous episodes:"I do not blunder the sound on purpose"
Now, what kind of kitty video were you watching before showing this game?
This series is adding so much depth to the documentary which concluded with this series. Its great to learn more about each game and how they were each played out, the options the players had and the challenges. Good stuff.
It must be very frustrating to think you might have Magnus cornered only to have him make the perfect move almost every time.
Damnit; now everytime you adjust the sound at the beginning, I picture you watching a cat video before the recording hh
TimelineUpdates Lmao
Pornhub more likely
Carlsen defeat that anand without touching his queen...incredible
I really enjoy this series, thank you for putting in the work. I need to remember to turn off ad block when I watch your videos.
3:48 I've just made sure that Judit Polgar is one of the strongest players ever, because how many of you would find the strongest move h6 against Garry Kasparov at age of one?
I love it how you always say "hello everyone!!" at the start of every video!!
The way you said “After this horror on the board Anand immediately resigned the game” Made me laugh out loud and my mom woke up. This is why i love agadmator
Yup I loved how Anand had a winning plan but one move made him immediately resign
And that's reason your mom hates Agadmator
"judit played this in 77 against kasparov"
impressive play for a 3 year old
Her bday was in 76
best game in the series by far
thanks for sharing it with us
wow, tremendous try by Anand, happy to finally get to checking out this game
Your commenary and analysis is splendid man! The suspense was real, and since I didn't follow the matches at the time, I didn't know who was going to win this one. Great stuff!
Your videos have made me a better player AND a better observer! THANK YOU!! I have been subscribed for a while, but now I have gotten my friends hooked on you! As a woman I would really like it if you do more female players because we women don't have many sports outside of chess where we are truly equal to men, as chess is about brains not brawn. Thank you so much and I'm sending you lots of Love
Great analysis of the game. I had seen the complete championship live on TV at that time, but didn't know the details explained here... Good job
Seriously, the match AND it's commentary are on point for this epic battle. Excellent video!
This is one of my favourite games, and my favourite move is Carlsen's 25th move Ne8. It looks so unnatural, while Ne6 covers the same square and looks more active and nature, but it loses!!!
It makes the knight accessible to the white pieces (Bh3) and possible knight sacrifices on f5.
First time since I started watching your videos that I figured the correct move to make! Feeling a little proud! :)
Its really heartbroken when we see this game for the first time
what a beast judit polgar! playing kasparov when she was 1year old! :)
This is really my favorite rivals on chess.
Remove that Giri Tweet!!
Prabhat Kumar I'm getting so stressed by the tweet staying up but also at the collective frustration of 200k chess-hungry agad fans 😓😓😓😓
What Giri tweet
Prabhat Kumar yeah it was there for too long but it didn't really matter since he says the moves out loud.
The answer for your question, years late. I recognize that picture as belonging to Yasser Seiriwan as a youth in Seattle Washington! I'm sure your other guests figured it out years ago. Seeing that picture was like being at that table. :) Recognize both of the guys watching. Harder to tell who he is playing. It was likely the Edgewater Inn on Elliot Bay on Seatlle's waterfront. The Edgewater was where Frank Zappa was trying to catch a Mudshark and the Beatles stayed whilst in Seattle the '60s. Guessing the picture was early to mid '70s. If I can remember the other folks names I will comeback and add them.
Practicing blind chess with agadmator !!
196k. holy smokes. prediction 276k by years end. good work.
That Qe1! is simply crushing!
09:59 best move was BF1 but Anand found a better move than the best move? XD
It was literally too good to be true.
Are you serious or just kidding? I hope the latter...
Michael Steshenko Agadmator is making a joke XD Nf1 is actually a blunder that cost Anand the game
He said "Better idea" not the best move
Yes i agreed bishop f1 is the best move. Anand can checkmate carlsen in the next move
Your videos have given me the motivation to get back to playing chess, keep up the work!
I found the move lol im getting better just watching all your videos
This time, I was able to find the Carlsen move Qe1 and the idea behind it too. 😎😎
same here br
Best move of the game until 2 moves later.
After watching such great games by Vishy, I feel pity for those who say they dont like Anand's style. hahaha
Please stick a 'post-it' note "ADJUST VOLUME" next to your record button/camera - it's really tiresome seeing the same mistake again and again. Thanx, love the commentaries!
This match was just too good. But..it would have been another regular game for us mortals if it wasn't analysed by you agad. Thank you.
Yay... more Saëmisch Nimzo-Indian in world championship match😁looks like a fun variation
I followed the championship event and I heard the audience watching live sighed when Anand played the knight move.
That’s an incredible move
Oohhh God !! How can Magnus Manage Such a scary Game ?? I bet Anyone can leave the game by fear after Continuous attack on black King side ....Hats off 2 Carlsen 👌👌👌👑👑🙌
It crushed my heart when anand played that knight
imm so tired but it would be rude to not watch it
Photo challenge: young Yasser Seirawan, Washington State Championship 1975
Chess is such a beautiful game, you normally should never push all your pawns but it's interesting how there are some openings where super gms pretty much can lol
Those eyebrows don't lie... it's Yasser Seirawan
This is correct!
This just shows how insanely strong Carlsen was at his peak. He is still in his prime, but he was at his best in classical back then.
Yeah..now he's kind of bored i guess, specially after 2019 after Winning all 3 format world championship...he need some fuel lol
thnks for your stuff , appreciate it
YES IVE BEEN WAITING
What a nice game! I didn't watch the video to the end since I want to solve the puzzle on the board.
I can only make an educated guess that it's Yasser Seirawan, I'm really not sure... The game was a real thriller, but I feel a little sorry for Anand, he's such a gentleman and good sportsman, he hasn't deserved to lose like this!
Amazing Nice, Victory, Good Explains,🤝
At 7:35 Ne7+,Kh8; Qxh7+ Kxh7; Rf4 is interesting. Unfortunately for white, black has the amazing move....Ng7 to save himself. After Rh4+,Nh5 white can play Bf3,threatening Bxh5 and the position is worth studying. Black will eventually play...Qc1+ or ...Qxd2+ and give up his new queen for the rook and win the game.
Judit Polgar played Kasparov in 1977?
That's impressive as she was born in 1976
Yes she was a child prodigy
@@MyCreativeSkillz she was 1 year old in 77 foo...
@@kevinhausch1418 lol i will make you my bitch foo
@@MyCreativeSkillz I dont think so, you're a nice guy.

Great vedio sir...lets hope a new design from ur..channel..in making Vedios....n make channel more popular.. ..than now..it is
#suggestion analyze any best match of daniel king....... And another is divya deshmukh
very educative this movie
Yesss!! Finally im early to your vid😃 lol have a nice day!
Although!!!!! The competition was very intense.....I liked anand's brilliancies
That Giri tweet overstayed its welcome. XD
I remember this game, watching it live on the internet and hearing others comment. It is sad that Anand made a quick and not the greatest move last minute with the knight.
I did not pause the video to find carlson's move but I guessed queen to f5 with bishop recapturing the rook, oh well
Yasser Seirawan. If that’s how it’s spelled
Shawn Roberts No..I think It's a Young Steve Jobs
I am missing somthing. Not Nf1 but Bf1 Qd1 and bishop E2 is winnig 4 white ????
Hello agadmator !
Thanks for all this content ! Very nice and excellent videos
Can you tell me what is the software you are using for the board ? Is it chessbase ? I love this theme
I think the young guy is Yasser ;)
For the photo challenge, is it perhaps Vladimir Kramnik?
Christopher August I wanted to say the same thing lol
No..It's a Young Steve Jobs
Its yasser
That Rook lift was genius
until it wasnt
When you play best the "best move of the match" and still lose XD That's Magnus for you
Can someone explain the Nigel Short tweet about tempi. Have no idea what he is talking about
It is Yasser Seirawan at the Washington State Championship in 1975.
Finally a move that I found!
How come the tweet is blocking the board????!?!?!!?!?!
El classico of 21st century chess.
0:28 Jašar Ahmedovski
:))
Photo challenge: That was young steve jobs vs. young bill gates.
The other two are Steve Wozniak and Kia Silverbrook. That Asian-looking one could possibly be Brad Pitt, though I don’t have full confidence.
Wtf
WTF Carlsen,that was supernatural!
Should VAR be introduced into the World Championship match between Carlsen and Caruana?
I found queen to e1 but I thought that if I could find it then it was a too simple move to be the actual wining move.
I literally hear no difference between before and after you lower the volume, perhaps it isn't necessary?
Was a very good attack regardless
I really like your video , also i like to hugg your pet dog.
This game was the best
Attack and counterattack
Agad...is it possible for u to do the photo challenges at the end of the game analysis...cos interested will stay and those like me who finds the challenges uninteresting can skip...
can you upload new video between gary kasparov vs carlsen
About the fordow challenge its Nakamura right?
Jesus, I love the routine of you muting your PC...
Aftell all is set and done, it was better to block with the bishop or the knignt? I think it was the bishop
Why Anand not played Bishop instead of Knight in his last move? I believe this will doesn't left any chance to Magnus. Please answer me anyone knows.
I know this may be a silly question and I’m not great at chess by why couldn’t Vishi play Rf3 with the idea of then swinging the rook to h3 after an exchange of bishops? Am I missing a trick here?
Probably because Carlsen would've sacrificed his original queen?
