That game was so confusing I was forgetting which player was which color. You know its complicated when you're letting the engine hold your hand through the best unplayed lines and you're still feeling lost.
Some day some one will start putting the time it takes for a particular move to be made, in addition to the clock-just so I don't need to do math. Someone will do it, then everyone will. I was a little confused why you don't take the pawn that moved to B5 with the C3 knight in the opening. I'm sure I'm just missing it.
MVL got a pair of steel balls to allow Arjun double queen to emerge on the board and continue playing this position, forcing Arjun to a draw. Crazy game indeed.
These players study 24/7. But if you ask them they just play on intuition and never study computer lines. And then they proceed to only play computer lines. And then if they play one move out of theory commentators call them the next Tal. I dont know. Lots of talented players but chess is becoming less imaginative, andmore aligned with the engine.
That is the natural evolution of chess. There's nothing inherently wrong with it as the more players improve, the more their play style will feel engine-like. But engine-like moves shouldn't be discarded as any less imaginative than the games of Tal or Morphy. There's a lot of analysis and imagination involved in middle game to end game, even if the standard openings have become known theory nowadays
Guys, ignore the og comment, he doesn't even know what he's saying, I bet he thinks that players memorised all these engine lines rather than finding them otb... 😂
