Beautiful build! Texas summer. “Hot AF”. Taylor in boots, jeans, jacket, gloves, and helmet. Demonstrating safe riding by wearing the gear. Thanks for the great videos!
I immediately picked up on that too👍
I had a 1968 650 BSA hard tail and I rode that bike from Michigan to Conroe Texas. 1550 miles back in 1980. I was 27 then and will never forget it.
The slide issue was a common enough problem on those Amals that there used to be several companies that all they did was boring and sleeving Amal slides! Great build!👍
Many (most?) vintage Triumphs have "ovaled" side stand or center stand pivot holes from riders kick-starting them that way. It's really easy to kick-start on the bike and then put the stand down. Just a thought.
Yup, mines got a pretty good lean on the side stand...
If they are running well, they start pretty easy. You can start em on the center stand too.
New Amals are worth their weight in lumber.
Shame the bodies warp.
@@Nemesis-222 Rubbish
@@simonkennedy4230 I agree, that's why I wouldn't buy them :)
@@Nemesis-222 no you talk rubbish 😒
@@simonkennedy4230 Three years too late and nothing worthwhile to add to the conversation.
I love that Triumph it's what I took my test on, I road bike a 69 BSA Hornet Scrambler 2 years before I even bought a car a 64 Covair with the 110 engine. Yep I'm old.
She's a beautiful old lady ,I hope the owner takes care of her .
Excellent video , keep them coming 👍👍👍
Gives me much hope for my 59! Great build. It's always awesome seeing another limey on the road.
Nice bike...love the sound of those old British engines.
Thanks for all the great tips. I'm working on my own Triumph project, and every little bit of knowlege is priceless. Keep up the great work. Your videos help so many of us reach that next goal.
Sounds like my ‘57 t-110 650 boneville in bought 1963 with straight pipes chopped rear fender big knobby tire in back and a teardrop gas tank. Loved it!
I love your builds! Every single one.
I have to accept I preferred the old iteration of it, with the gray tank and the clip ons. Still, fantastic job!
What a fabulous bike you have built. Absolute stunner. Wish we hadn’t exported them all from here in the UK. They’re rarer than hens teeth and go for Brewster Millions.
Great diagnostic skills as always Taylor 👌🏼
I could hear it right after you kicked her over that the new carbs made her happy. 👍🏼
Thank you Taylor for taking us to the finish line with this incredible build 🏆👏👍🇬🇧
I am a hardcore Honda nut but that build turned out very nice! :)
Wow I love it ! Nice job! Got love those Triumph's !
It's a beauty and sounds great. Thanks for the video. 🏍👍🇨🇦
Job well done Taylor! The Triumph looks and sounds great, your customer should be elated.
Excited for that cb500 how to. Got my 72' running with your carb rebuild, ign timing and carb syncing videos. But could use one on cam timing! Good stuff as always
I like the electronics used! Always putting cutting edge on classics. Wonder if you would do 1985 86 87 honda magna 750 6 spd. Early muscle bike, I would be interested on how you would tackle that v4 and make it a modern muscle bike.? Please?
Great and good sounding bike , with thoe's new carbs.
You need some mufflers on there, or rejet the carbs accordingly- sounds like you need to adjust your slide needle and get a bigger pilot jet. You need to take your pod filters and straight pipes into consideration
Cool build! I'm digging the 69 Camaro lurking in the background :)
Thanks! I saw you at COTA a few months ago. Maybe I can pick your brain sometime about getting my Camaro ready for auto X and track days.
Those tiny air filters look cute but do nothing for good airflow and balanced carburation. They are more suited for oil control on valve covers. Yes you need a filter but you have plenty of space to allow you to fit one that is both neat and efficient.
I'd have to say that the OIF hardtail takes some getting used to but the overall job is awesome 👍👍. Tuning those old Triumphs is not always an easy proposition.
What a really great job👌 A stunning ride👍🏼
good work
Beautiful bobber, sir
Cool bike. If it was mine, I’d put a front fender on it to balance it out… visually speaking. I had a similar sputtering on my 64 TR6 recently. On mine it was a fuel starvation problem from a partially clogged fuel line.
nice bar
Unless you've done something to the petcocks. The left should be reserve and right side is main fuel .nice bike .
Hey Classic Octane! Just wondering if you have ever done a video on how the timing system works on motorcycles and how to adjust it?
Don't know if it's the camera angle or not, but you may need to add more brake fluid in that reservoir. Looks like on hard turns it may introduce air into the line.
One day I would love to own a bike like that. I need to find a project
Such a sharp looking bike. Have you ever thought of doing a cb bobber?
Beautiful bike :) Can not ride a hardtail here in Norway.. too bumby.. XD
Great video dog
you should get a gold chain for that one
awesome
Yep, new carbs is the answer
Standard needle position on t140 is top notch (lowest position)
Switched mine to AMAL MK2.
What front master cylinder did you use? Mine is off an old cb750.
Doesn't look as good but stops good.
I get why someone would want to keep Amal carbs on a Triumph, but if you want really great working carbs I would have gone with a set of Mikuni's...
@mariodesmo Keihin makes a nice kit for vintage Triumphs.
I had a '77 Bonneville. After a few years I put Mikunis on it. No carb worries after that. Great carbs.
I have great luck with my Amal carbs. Easy to work on and kept my 68 running for years.
Great video me thinks. What's the decibel level on this monster?
Noice job.
But we can do cross-country with it, right?
Hi Taylor, is the crankcase vent on the left side blocked off?
sweeeeeeet!
What clip position are you using with the new carbs?
No front mud guard ??
Is it for sale I'm looking to buy a triump
one slide too loose one slide too tight.. what happens if you swap them over ?
What front master cylinder have you fitted and what is the bore size cheers
The exhausts need baffles or lollipops
Hi, i just hardtail my bike to make it more bobber style but when i went for a test ride i lost top speed. Is that possible?
Make sure your fuel tank is vented
Is that a completely rigid steel pipe connecting rear master cylinder and caliper? I realise it's a hardtail, but I would be a bit concerned about fatigue from the vibration over that span.
Sorry, I've just seen closeup and realise it's a braided hose.
Ford Model A taillight.
Ride a hardtail here in Michigan and your fillings will fall out of your teeth !!
There is no hibernation on the road
Handlebars do not suit!
Why go back to the thirties, it was rubbish then it's rubbish now.
I respect your skill as a mechanic but I just don't get these type of builds. The bike looks uncomfortable to ride. Totally impractical with no front mud guard. pipes loud enough to make your ears bleed. No rear suspension to give good road handling
Each to their own.
I prefer function over form. This is the bike equivalent of a weird dog show breed that you have carry in a handbag. It was fun to watch you build it though.
I agree, bikes like this are better suited turning slowly on a lazy susan with cool lighting. Call it an art piece, not something to ride.
I built and ride a ‘68 Triumph hard tail bobber. It loves the twisties just fine, and I push it hard. The sound is so beautiful it needs to be loud and heard. The stance and look of the bike make modern stuff look silly IMO, and I’ve had a few. I’m 68, and the hard tail doesn’t bother my back. No, I don’t want to do long rides-a few minutes on our mountain roads is all it takes to put my head right. If you haven’t had the experience, I guess you wouldn’t get it, but I’d loan you mine for a ride if you’re ever in BC (Canada) just to see your reaction.
@@markcameron8510 I've ridden bike all over Europe but never Canada. My old VFR750 would have loved Canada.
@@markcameron8510 I to have a 68 rigid here in Nova Scotia and I absolutely love it. If your looking for long distance comfort then take the car. I ride because it makes me feel great to be on something that I created and not mass produced like all the other "black" bikes" in the row.
Hi, shave your beard & get rid of them bars.
Honda and triumph! Soon we will be seeing a BMW r bike for sure
