Yeah, during the little side trip you take as every playable character in birth by sleep, each one meeting with their kh1 equivalent if memory serves well. It was a cool little scene tying these people together. Especially ventus and sora
Technically, Ventus never "meets" Sora, outside of their hearts touching at the start of the game, and again at the end. Also noteworth, Aqua is the only one to meet all 3 of the Paopu trio prior to KH3.
All to be dumped into the darkness and turn into anti Aqua, and then have Riku say her suffering doesn't matter, and have two teenagers beat out the darkness in her. 😂

@@kairi4640 sometimes, if a person means enough to you, you accept certain things from them, even if they're just trinkets to hold memories close by. Plus, her necklace has that spell from Aqua. You could call it a safety measure.
i see so many people say that kairi didnt even remember shes from raidiant garden by the time of kh 1... nope she actually does. if you dont believe me go talk to her in the ff house after youve gotten the gummi block to finish the game. she has 1-3 dialouges one off which is her telling sora: i used to live in hollow bastion but i dont remember much now... she says more but i only had a picture of that sentence 😅. its something about her sora, riku playing on the islands and thats her real home now
I don't think she REALLY remembers, just a vague sense that she lived there; otherwise she'd know Hollow Bastion isn't the worlds real name, since it was still Radiant Gardens when she was a child.
Tbh, Kairi probably lied so it wouldn't push Riku to be more reckless when wanting to explore other worlds. You know, sour grapes and all. And she did have a traumatic event being kidnapped and yeeted through that machine, so she probably didn't fully remember because of that lol

I think even just being sent somewhere in an Ark / Lifeboat can cause memory loss? Or maybe that's only if it travels through time, which I guess this one didn't.

And she has gone back to Radiant Garden after the events of KH3 to help search for Sora aka the entire melody of memories game but she probably does just feel like destiny islands is home at this point and wants to stay there.

There's a risk of Kairi going to Unreality (;a world that Is neirher light or Darkness but something on the other side) using the Ark if Aqua didnt used her protective spell on her.
She was on a fragment of destiny island when the worlds returned which is why she was sent there instead also she probably considers the islands to be her new home despite no being originally from their
I like to think it's a callback to the saying "Home is where the heart is". She grew up in Destiny Islands. Created deep ties there. It's her home now.
It is an interesting question when you think about it. But in kh 2, they literally say the worlds are conscious entities that provided Sora with a gate to challenge Xemnas. So it's likely Destiny Island acknowledges Kairi as a resident. Though honestly, Nomura probably overlooked it and/or Radiant Garden was in the process of being rebuilt by kh 2.
Would anyone entertain the idea that Kairi is the reincarnation of Ava? Or like a regression of sorts? Because in 3 it’s revealed that a girl appeared in Radiant Garden with no memory. Lea and Isa met her there. Trying to figure out how to bust her out but then she suddenly disappeared. Melody of Memoriy goes more in depth and shows that Xehanort was activity experimenting on Kairi. Showing that he too was responsible for transporting her to Destiny Island. I mean I also entertain the idea that Kairi’s grandmother could be Ava as well. Also Xehanort’s experiments on Kairi could have nothing to do with the mystery girl. Just throwing out ideas.

I’m sorry, but why do you need outside archival information to figure that out? It was pretty obvious in the game. By sleep, they make it a pretty big point of showing aqua place to protective charm on Kairi. She then tells the girl that if she’s ever in danger, this charm will take her someplace safe. At that point when everything starts going fubar, the safest place would be Destiny Island because from the beginning of birth by sleep, that place was locked from the darkness because of Ventus. And that protection last until KH1. And I was able to figure all that out just from the pieces of information you get from the games.
People like you is why the KH fandom gets a bad rap. You know it's possible some people haven't played all the games. Some might have only played one or two of the main titles and only tangentially know the entire BBS story, including details like that. Not everyone is working with the same set of information as you to piece together in the first place. Some people may have had the pieces but never put two and two together. There's so many reasons it's okay that this person made a video archiving all of this info. Not everything is made *for* you, so if you find yourself asking this question again, that might just be the answer. So maybe think about the world and people outside yourself next time, something that a KH fan _should_ understand, before writing a few paragraphs with a pretentious attitude next time, questioning the validity of something that has every right to exist.

Almost exactly like that one episode of Supernatural where the doctor has a daughter thats been in a coma for 10 years, but he still reads old fairy tales to her, and she begins manifesting them into reality.

the whole place was consumed. the island you get to play on in KH 1 is only one of the destiny islands.
The town was consumed, too. The "world" of Destiny Islands includes EVERYTHING, including the mainland, hence "IslandS" instead of "Island".
