That's a smart man with good foresight to set those provisions in the trust. That should keep the company solvent, making good products, and around a long time.
Too much wrong information. So, some clarifications... 1. The case is named Oyster, not "Auster". And it wasn't invented by Rolex, it was invented by Perret and Perregaux and then Rolex bought the patent from them. 2. Also, this wasn't the first waterproof watch. Waterproof watches existed since 1851, and girard Perregaux produced the first waterproof wristwatches in 1878. 3. Rolex didn't invent the first self winding movement. Harwood made self winding movements since decades before Rolex and was very well known for this. Rolex says they invented the first full rotor automatic. This was invented in 1770. Rolex was born in 1905... 4. Rolex did't invent the date display in a window, this existed since the XIXth century, and many wristwatches had it in the 1920s. Rolex introduced it in the 1940s... 5. GMT function wasn't invented by Rolex. Longines had it since 3 decades before in the Zulu, in wristwatches and 5 decades before in pocket watches. Rolex has never been a brand of inventions, they have a very good quality, as is the case and level of Omega, Grand Seiko, Zenith or Girard Perregaux, but mostly what Rolex exceeds at is marketing. They didn't invent the divers watch, and they didn't ever produce a single movement until 2004. Cheers
Not a lot of people these days buy wrist watches. Its an extra expense when you can see the time on your cell phones. Advertisements can not brain wash the young generation.
Its only now that rolex advertise their watches because only a handful of people can afford to buy wrist watches nowadays. In fact people are selling their owned watches.
What is your favorite Rolex model?
