I'm a 37 year old bloke. My mum passed away when I was 21 and before I learned her recipes.. These videos are so helpful and are motivating us and I'm sure many many others.
I lost my mum at 19 and I’m in the same boat Tom. I’m in Miami and I love the Dinner Lady. She’s an international treasure! Sorry about your mum. We all got cheated.
This is what I called boiling beef. You can’t get it at very many places these days. I’d boil mine slowly with stock, carrot, celery, onion, bay leaves and whole pepper corns. Then, after about four hours of cooking, I’d drain them and air dry them overnight. I’d sieve the stock, keep some for gravy and the rest would be made into a big pan. Of soup.. The next day I’d roast the beef off until brown and crisp, then serve with potato, veg, yorkies and gravy. It was the only way we could afford a beef dinner at the time. The kids loved it. You’ve brought back some good memories of Sunday lunches as a family. It didn’t feel like we were making do with anything less than the best. Followed by an eve pudding, or crumble, it was like living like kings and queens lol. ❤
Hi mand Oh that gravy looked so rich and delicious. I’ve never bought beef short fibs, but they look lovely so next time I’m shopping I’ll try to get some. Love Marilyn xx
Looks amazing as always, proper food to fill you up and get rid of any sickness. I would love to see some oxtail recipes as I personally think it's the tastiest part of the cow ❤
Looks gorgeous, but I'd have to remove a lot more fat than you did, in fact all of it ! I havn't seen any new potatoes yet, but as soon as they appear, i'll be getting some - YUM. Thanks for sharing your fab recipes with us. Take care 🙂
Oo that looks amazing and I could just eat the potatoes and that lovely gravy with a chunk of bread 👌beautiful hearty dinner thank you , as for that dripping perfect on toast with salt 👍Amanda xx
A lot of fat on them , my butchers are more meaty and less fat , maybe I’ve been lucky , you find a lovely dinner with them and that gravy looked delicious 👍👍 nice one again 👏👍👍
Have not heard of this part of beef. You'll miss home cooked, but the food you'll be eating will taste good because you haven't had to cook it yourself😁
I love your recipes and you really are a fantastic, creative and talented cook. 👍👏😀 . I particularly enjoyed your Korean chicken drums. I always thought Korean food was just too complicated to cook at home but you easily dispelled that myth for me so thanks again. I like that you cook a variety of foods rather than just traditional English food but when done well is also delicious and comforting 🎉😋😋. I know your tag is The Dinner lady but I like to think of you as " Beddy lads Lass". hahahaha 😂😂😂😂. I watch your husband's channel also. Keep up the great recipes.🙏😁😁
Are mushy peas on a Sunday dinner a north east thing? I only really know them with fish and chips or on their own with mint sauce 😂 The meal looked lovely, I could’ve eaten that for my Sunday dinner 😀
Hi Guys, good dinner again.Do you ever watch the American ladies cook?I am very interested in the differences in our meats, and what we put into our dinners.I cook short ribs for my friends, and myself, our short ribs are bigger, and they remove the fat layer before you buy them, but they are still juicy,as the meat is well marbled.I bake mine in Chinese style sauce, usually about 2-3 hours, then as up pick them up the bones just fall off, they are very expensive here, sort of thing for an occasion dinner.😊
you have to scrape them if you peal you take that waxy coating of and looses flovour not had any yet but i will lol xkathy looks tasty but not for me this one or i could cut more of the fat of so its not to bad xx

Looked absolutely delicious thank you. So many folks are using air fryers in their recipes but as I don’t have one an oven alternative would help 🤔
