- AI technologies are expected to be trans-formative. However, beyond technological innovation lies a complex web of challenges, including stakeholder engagement, data acquisition and model development.
In this presentation, Dr Goh presents 3 key learnings from his teams' recent work and experience centered around (1) the importance of trust in deciphering stakeholder perceptions for technology adoption, (2) the value of leveraging prior knowledge when initiating digital health projects and (3) the necessity of scrutinizing what models have truly learned before pursuing marketing or publication endeavors.
Dr Wilson Goh is the Chief Data Scientist, Centre for AI in Medicine at Nanyang Technological University and is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at Imperial Colleges London. He is also the Head of the Data Science Research Programme and Co-Director of the Centre for Biomedical Informatics.
His interests are in harnessing the potential of complex multi-model clinical datasets, with a vision towards implementation and deployment of AI solutions in the hospital setting, particularly in mental health. His team have recently worked on implementation science projects, including trying to understand how clinicians trust and engage with AI.
