MDHR! The first real taste of a Learning Health System, A/Prof Peter Steel, M.D

Dr Peter Steel, Emergency Physician and Associate Professor at Weill Cornell, provides a clinical lens to discussing the importance of systems of clinical transparency and accountability, foundational clinical informatics infrastructure to support for rapid-cycle iterations to care model, and provider-specific feedback and basic evaluation of clinical interventions.
His research interests focus on the interface between operational innovation, machine learning and quality outcomes. Peter has established a composite clinical outcome as consensus quality and patient safety focused target, and the utilization of structured data ML models to drive CDS around that target. From learnings, Peter will also touch on the great promise and yet many challenges to integrate ML models successfully into clinical practice
