    Just in case you were wondering what commands I use in Pro Tools while i'm editing. 😊
    A - Trim previous border of clip to marker
    S - Trim next border of clip to marker
    X - Cut selection(good for quick and easy delete if you're not copy/pasting anything)
    C/V - Copy/paste
    Z - Undo
    Control+E - Cut clip at marker
    F - Create fade
    Control+F - Batch fade options
    Control+G - Group tracks(Good for editing two tracks together)
    Control+Shift+G - Engage/Disengage groups(For when you need to edit the individual grouped tracks)
    Windows Key+"+/-"(num pad) - Slip edit forward/back
    +/-(num pad) - nudge clip forward/back
    Control+Windows+Left/Right key - Cycle through track view modes(waveform/warp/playlist/etc.)
    Elastic Audio:
    Windows+click - set anchor

    cool video. it does seem like it'd be easier to practice more. but i totally understand why a video like this is necessary. also, i think this is the first video ive seen like this where the takes weren't already perfect. lol.

    19:00 mark... you could use the TCE, or, you could rerecord the guitar part and get it right the first time. Just sayin. And for the record, I love this video. Great stuff!

    Wish this had focused more on the recording process itself, rather than editing the tracked DI. What was the signal chain here? For example: Did you use a dedicated D.I. box? Or use a High Z input on your interface? Thanks!

    When you're doubling guitars, are you using the same settings for all the takes, or are you subtly moving some knobs or changing settings entirely?

    Steven, thank you for your videos, I appreciate them. I do have a question though. I think I've seen you adjust the eq on a plug-in that you have on separate tracks at the same time. It wasn't on a bus, but different tracks. Is that correct? If so, how did you do it. I am using Pro Tools too, along with the Nameless plug-in.

  • @DrDenticle

    Hey this was awesome! Exactly what I was looking for! I had a question though, what exactly is the cross fading accomplishing? You didn't really go into that and it is something I have not done before.

    • @andrewtiedeman7452
      @andrewtiedeman7452 4 роки тому +7

      Whenever you have an abrupt start or end on your audio boundaries, you get a little click sound. This is fixed by a very short fade in or fade out. When you’re stitching audio clips together, you also want them to overlap a little bit (i.e. cross fade), otherwise it will sound like a gap.

    • @XiyuYang
      @XiyuYang 4 роки тому +2

    • @TheRealStevenWard

      That's the view in pro tools. You can make the waveform larger or smaller depending on preference so that's why it looks like its clipping.
