Try this on your next arm day and tell me your tris aren’t on fire after. 😎
Look forward to trying this shortly for part of my arm workout today!! Could you do an in depth workout/tips like this for side & rear delts, would be much appreciated 👍💪 Thoroughly enjoy your style & type of training, I've noticed it really makes the mind muscle connection & contraction on a whole other level.
Sure, will try this....❤❤❤❤
and Lock elbow on triceps
Your for or against?
Or what feel better for the person?
you are too far forward.Working further away from the bar will make it all arms,no help from bodyweight.
thanks...good to know...
The horror of realising I’ve been doing it wrong all this time. Thank you for your videos!
that's part of the process and the beauty of progressing and changing your body. Good for you you are learning!
There's no horror. Just learning
Same.. 😂
So refreshing listening to Big Mike. Doesn't try and complicate things just gives expert tips and advice.
Ya man. Not trying to be anything but myself. This fitness world is filled with ppl pretending to re invent the wheel. I’m just here showing what I have found works for me
@@MikeVanWyck yes sir you are going to change a lot of minds about ‘having to lift extremely heavy’ to see results. It’s about the mechanics and the execution of the movements the weight will come don’t ego lift just as you said to move weight. I’ve been that guy, for what? As I’ve grown older I’ve lessened the weights and focused more on the execution and building a better mind muscle connection. Thanks again man you’re a straight shooter never change my friend
@@davespare1674 I’m going to help as many ppl as I can to get the best physiques they can achieve. Change movement and u redesign the physique
@@MikeVanWyck I’ll try and do the same out here on the east coast. I’m no pro that’s for sure, I’m barely an intermediate trainee but I will refer everyone who ever asks me for advice to check you out on YT and IG and FB if you have that also. Your no nonsense, to the point, keep things simple approach is what I think a lot of ppl need and want they just don’t know where to get it. Now they’ll come to you my friend. All the best
@@davespare1674 I appreciate that Dave. Thank u
This brought my tricep work out to another level! Insane how the small tweaks, hand and weight displaced helps
Thank you bro. Ive been dealing with tennis elbow And I believe it’s because of my bad form. You’ve been the only person to actually deliver with no bullshit no fluff
Doing my best to help ppl move better, easier
Yes! The only one!
I come back to watch your videos multiple times, to make sure I’m doing each exercise korrectly! Thank you!
Not the only one!!
That’s the smoothest tricep extension I’ve ever seen
That’s one hell of a compliment to me. The goal is to make everyone’s movement smooth and efficient
everything this man does is smooth af
#salute
You know he's bang on the money when you mimic the demonstration loosley whilst watching and, It makes IMMEDIATE sense.. When you get that "oh yeah moment" before he's even fully elaborated.. Whatever level you're at, this type of focus is stupidly beneficial.. If you don't learn something new, you'll get refreshed on something you over looked.. Love this shit me.. No ego just knowledge..
Ego has no place in bodybuilding
Movement is simple. Everyone wants to make it hard
OK... Everyone is definitely going to train arms today!
Sundays are for arms
I left my ego at home, followed your techniques at the gym and made more solid gains in areas i missed all these years just moving weight. Thank you for your channel and advice.💪🦾
Dude u are a unbelievable teacher and just tuch up on stuff that makes totally sense respect brother
Thanks stan 💪🏻
Mike. Would you cover different forms of pullover (the most underrated back exercise). Thx.
I hate pull overs to be honest. But I’m sure they work wonders for some people
I don’t do them. So probably won’t cover them
It took me almost a decade to work up to 4+ plates on machines.
The 60kg, & 65 kg dumbbells, also took me a very long to to work up to.
I had to get really good at moving and being engaged before I could think of progressing the weight.
Remember kidlets, it's *bodybuilding*
Don't get caught up in weight numbers
Great explainations, reminds me of the late mountain dog john meadows if john had a rough-talking-biker brother💪🏻
Lol. Thanks.
Great video and yesss finally someone who knows the correct way to do skull crushers etc to work that long head.
All about the stretch
GREAT VIDEO.. THE DETAILS!!
Amazing tip! Just mimicking the tricep movement without any weight... felt it 👌!!
That’s the keep to pure movement. Look at how u move or flex the muscle with nothing in your hands
@@MikeVanWyck thanks a bunch! Cant wait for my next arms day 😆
Did a quick set on tripcep with your tempo and the movemebt princicple... works like a charm 👍👍setiously thank you ao much
mello mike. im jp from the netherlands. since a month or so i incidentely found your channel on youtube. I saw a lot of videos from a lot of ex pro s and trainers . but i must say that the you are explaining things and the vibe you bring in your videos are killing. really love the way you approach this. my big thanks for giving your time and knowledge to the people. big regards jean paul (jp) .the netherlands
The best training content online by far. Appreciate the detail you go into on all your vids Mike.
Thanks rob
Videos are definitely 🔥. I've been incorporating his ques...you the man Mike
Awesome. Thanks Merrill
Someone who can put it all into words. Awesome tips on body mechanics mike, loving the content 💪🏽
Thanks antn. Appreciate the support
Wow....you are extremely adept at communicating and teaching. This video has transformed the way I do triceps exercises. 1st time I have seen anyone break something down so precisely and clearly. Thank you!
I did not know you… wow !!! Super video !! I have 25 years of « training in the body », but i understand something new this morning with your video. Thank you sir !
I will view all of your videos sir ! (Sorry for my bad english) … have a nice day :)
This guy is unreal thank you so much mike you’re actually so good at explaining form helped me so much can’t believe this advice is free lol crazy
When I'm in the gym people sometimes comment: "Hey have you injured yourself? Because even I could do that weight". I just tell them that the weights are mere tools for me, I don't care how much weight I'm moving, I'm just there to stimulate the muscle. It should be mandatory to watch these videos before going to the gym.
Just keep doing what you’re doing. Everyone will catch up one day or they won’t 🤷♂️ lol
@@MikeVanWyck Yeah you're right.
If anyone has the audacity to make such a comment, tell them they need to focus on their own training otherwise don't just come in to waste space and others' time in your gym. How asinine of anyone to make such vapid remarks veiled as a concerned question!
All awesome advice from a pro and grateful to use this in stuff in our workouts.
Happy to help. This isn’t rocket science
Hey Mike,
Love from Kolkata, India.
I have been one of your oldest fan and an avid admirer of your workout ethics & technicalities since your " Young Buck ANIMAL" days.
I ended up following you in the process of loving the work of Evan Cento panni & Frank as I've found u much vocal & upfront in several occasions & drawn by the way you explain everything.
That's why I connect with you this 28th Birthday to learn and follow your preaching after a 10 years long natural bodybuilding career in anticipation of being more jacked and Happier @eotd.
Let's get more WYCKED together @WYCKED TRAINING Much love, grow big, Full Power!!!
I appreciate u following me throughout the years. The days with animal I think of very fondly. And trust me upfront will
Be an understatement with what I’m about to do
@@MikeVanWyck without a doubt, waiting for some WYCKED Annihilation !!!
Much Love & wish a swift million Subscriptions...
Thank you so much. Been lifting about a year now and I learned so much from just this one video!
Thanks Mike for sharing and putting efforts to educate people
Ppl need to spend their time efficiently in the gym. And find what really works movement wise
Thank you for sharing all these information!
No BS...just pure masterclass mentoring & tutoring session from a master...tq sir🙏💪
Today, I'll stop wrecking my elbows. Much thanks.
Amazing how just making a few subtle technique changes can really make a difference. Great channel.
very good information! not many people understand how to take on the muscles
I came into the gym today to do legs but I'll definitely be hitting some triceps after this Info!! Much needed cause my arms are big but my triceps are flat
Let me know how it feels.
Hey Mike! Love you.❤
Followed your training style big Mike and found it most effective.
Thanks brother
I tried your tricep technique it works good
Perfect. Appreciate the feedback Adam
@@MikeVanWyck I am gaining more muscle watching your Channel and techniques you're doing a great job
I need one of those shirts!
Coming soon
I'm gonna say it. We need a glute video for the guyz. 1, most women I know complain that we're flat back there or could use some more back there. 2, it would be hilarious seeing you explain it lol.
I fully support this.
You cannot deny the logic
Amazing
First
It’s just whatever pops in my head
Great video with in depth explanation and demonstration.
Need more videos!!!
I used to always assume that I knew everything when it came to working out and all these little fine tweaks in movement were bs. But tbh they’ve helped me so much and it’s so important to approach the gym as student and learn from others more knowledgeable than you. Your techniques have helped me immensely
Keep it up!
definitely will try this. I always say feel the strech from the muscle you are working and then stay with that feeling all the way through the contraction, start to finish. If that makes sense. great content, thanks a bunch.
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Great video thanks… Just following your prescribed moves at home without any weight I can feel it from the origin of the muscle … will definitely need a massage afterwards
Thanks again Big Mike! Please consider doing more bodypart/exercise vids like this one. Great stuff!
Thanks, Jim. Lots more coming don’t you worry.
I bet no one was listening at around 7:19….
I've kind of made a lot of these adjustments just from getting a better mind muscle connection from years of training, but I've never been able to explain those little differences or heard anyone else explain it. Very cool
Happy it helped Phil
thanks i tried this on triceps extensions and got very sore from the top of the tricep where my delts are located. excellent stretch.
You are not Coach but SCIENTIST
Thump up from & EGYPT $ sir
Super helpful thanks!
Especially about the lat opening up and posing connection. That was cool
Thank you so for your indepth explanation of , getting the stretch. Just found your channel and subscribed.
We like u Mike because u r not one of these skinny crazy screaming trainers . Lol.
I press like and cant wait for new vids 👍
Awesome man. Thank u
Interesting. I stumbled onto the idea of rocking back and firing from the stretch w french presses. When you mentioned "you want the fold to happen", that's when it clicked because that's exactly how it feels, folding the arm in on itself. I feel the tricep way more, it burns, it gets bloated but if I don't do that, it's still good. But not as good. I'm experimenting all the time looking for the best way for me to move and it's cool when I notice others who feel the same. Kind of like a proof of concept.
These aren't calves! Lol
It’s the calve of the arm 😂
@@MikeVanWyck don't make me fly up there and be your ginnie pig for calves haha
@@UnReAl365 I don’t train Calves 🤷♂️. There are tons of calve training vids on UA-cam. Feel free to look them up lol.
Jesus Christ I am that lame f*** who’s hitting triceps like this for 12 years haha no wonder my arms suck. Man great video you’re the man for coming through with this makes so much sense
Hello Mike. Please do a video on laying hamstrings curls also. Nice tips.
Sure. It will be coming soon
holy fuck. my tris are on fire. your tips have been a game changer for me
Long head of the triceps originates above the shoulder joint, you need shoulder flexion to pre-stretch the long head, not just elbow flexion. Great video! Way to know your anatomy
Precisely. 😎
Wow man. You watched the video and then spit out the same info.
@@j.hermanarmstrong thanks my guy. I’ve been known for my active listening skills.
Watched a handful of videos, absolutely hooked on your delivery. Thanks for doing what you do man. Great channel.
You're one of my favorite coaches! As a Jiu-Jitsu black belt always showing a new scam, created or archived in memory of your total old school experience!!
The variation on standing back to the pulley I like to do crossing the cable above the shoulder by the opposite side of the head with the forearm in diagonal position and I feel too much the outer part of the triceps!
That’s the good movement as well
This has become my top channel for learning and excuting lifts properly. Ive seen exponential growth. It was a shock to the muscle(s).
Thanks so much for these videos I really appreciate the way you explain things. It really helps understand the whole movement and how to execute properly. Top notch I can't get enough!
Happy to help Aaron
These videos are so fucking good!! Thank you!
No problem Joey
This is full of info it’s crazy
Starting to think Mike Van Wyck is the Dave Tate of bodybuilding 👍🏼
Massive compliment. Appreciate that
Next person I see doing bad form I’m going to say “that’s super ugly”..
Teach them this way. So if they feel it better
@@MikeVanWyck I’m in Costa Rica escape from Canada style. I show the local what your teach and what Cody showed me. They throw up lol
Even after 18 years of bodybuilding and training and no ego lifting and being hardcore all what he said makes total sense and the funny thing i can feel it without even moving anything by only seeing it , thanks bro you are a refreshing breeze in this industry keep it up man we all have your back 💪🏻👏👍
That’s why Mike is a phenomenal teacher! I’ll be sending videos to him soon so he can critique me! Awesome shit he’s doing!
Offering this service very soon.
Awesome training info. Since I’ve implemented your philosophies and techniques, huge pumps and amazing relief on my joints. Keep up the great content Mike
Thanks
Great video !!
I never really knew about this technique but I always have done it this way Bc I really feel it better then just being stiff and trying to be what ppl would call “perfect form” I would tell myself man ppl probably say my form bad but I feel this shit skin splitting pumping 👌
Thank you for the tips. I've been doing everything on the row machine like you said NOT TO DO. So ill change things up. Again thank you for all these videos you do.
Let me know how it goes Brian
Your suggestions and tricks help tremendously! Especially when you get feel stuck on the same stretch workouts for upper body and knowing the RIGHT WAY. Thank you!
Happy to help Adam
I laugh every time at 10:22 "It's.... strategically made..." :D
I just came across this channel and I have to say, it's awesome !!! Mike addresses: Tempo, Stretch, Range of Motion, in a relatable way. If you're a Gym goer, you can understand this info...
You are really great at explaining and demonstrating things clearly and understandably. Thanks for the video
Appreciate that

Thank you mike for your content it has helped me tremendously on so many of my lifts I wasent feeling but now I can really feel them well. I’m still struggling with any sort of leg press and squats I only feel it in my teardrop whenever I leg press, hack, or squat idk why this is any ideas?
Thanks
Appreciate your feedback Jacob. I’ll try to do some leg tips for u
Mike cool as hell! thanks for the tips Man definitely this video was MONEY. watched it without skipping.
17:50 🔥🔥🔥
Just an idea (don’t yell at me, please Mike). You spoke on some bodybuilders lifting heavy and knowing how to move weight; Most of your viewers are novice to intermediate humans who are trying to learn. It might be good content to have one of “us” with you and having you correct their form/etc.
Thank you for excellent instruction. I'm 69 yrs old and still learning.
Mike did it again! great video my guy
I'd listen to you all day.... keep these coming
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Was thinking im doctor for triceps but damn boss...

@@MikeVanWyck it went really well, I got a crazy full pump & felt it deep In the muscle. Really good advice, workout & explanation of how to fully stretch & contract/ control the muscle and the weight.
