I liked this movie . Gary Cooper was too cool . Really impressed by Susan Hayward . I'm impressed by her horsemanship . It really looks like she is doing the riding .
I am in shock when I read d comments of some movie fans.Could u imagine, there r those who r not impressed with probably d greatest actor or definitely one of d greatest actors ever in d golden era in hollywood. We r referring to Gary Cooper, winner of two academy awards, but remain humble and believable in every role, that he acted.RIP.Gary!
What a movie , a brilliant classic , hats off to such a stellar performance by brilliant cast Gary Cooper , richard widmark . Excellent script, screenplay ,direction ,surely one the best western I have ever seen ..Must watch movie ..
Thank you for such a magnificent meaningful western. The end dialogue about gold and dirt is truly remarkable and that's very true, man would kill for a handful of dirt. The cliff ride is filmed realistic and frightening.Overall it's a wonderful family movie.Old is gold I mean movies. Thanks once again.
The movie was excellent, as the scenery was spectacular, the story was different from the usual westerns and interesting, while Gary Cooper played an admirable leading role.
Love, love, love ❤️, Richard Widmark. I saw, the movie,The Last Wagon, three times, and it makes me want to see it again. It had a great, happy ending. This makes the second time, that I’ve seen this movie. I had remembered that Hooker had gone back, in order to tell Fisk, that he knew that he had let him win, so he would go, instead of staying. I had thought that everything would be alright, and Fisk had stayed alive. However, when he had said what he had said, I cried for 10 or 15 minutes😢😢😢, and I’m not sure, that I’ll watch it again.
10:00 Where they go up the mountain trail and jump the gap, integrating the actors and horses with the background scenery is amazing because they did it without CGI.
Richard Widmark, such a versatile actor... from maniac giggling Tommy Udo to basically good guys in his beloved westerns (lover of horses and the outdoors, also in real life). Coop and Hayward great, too. Actors had class back then.
Cameron Mitchell was always great as were Richard Widmark and Gary Cooper. Susan Hayward as always the ultimate feme fatale. Too bad Cameron didn't do more film noir like Widmark did.
I had never seen or heard of this movie but i seen some of it on tv last night but i could not finish it cause i had to go to work. I'm very glad i watched it all this morning this was a damn good movie with some great actors playing some good characters. Also i watched warlock from 1959 the other day so i was in a richard widmark frame of mind. Thanks for the upload throughly enjoyed it and will be watching this more times in the future. I was born in 1977 so some of these classics i have not seen that were made way before i was born. But my family all liked westerns so i really do appreciate a good one and this is a good one. I highly recommend this damn fun so thanks.
When you get a dedicated Troupe of film artist like these to entertain you, wow! Your in for an adrenaline rush on a roller coaster of adventure. Good old fashioned talent that can't be found these days, anywhere. Bravo!
Great location-shooting in the town" of Tepotzotlán, in the jungle areas near Acapulco, Parícutin volcano, and the village of Guanajuato. Excellent cast ! Thanks for uploading! Gary Cooper as Hooker Susan Hayward as Leah Fuller Richard Widmark as Fiske Víctor Manuel Mendoza as Vicente Madariaga Hugh Marlowe as John Fuller and a young Cameron Mitchell as Luke Daly. Such a pity Susan Hayward died so young. She was a strong force in movies.
It's a good watch, with a great musical score, some boss one-liners, not to mention brilliant acting with Hooker and Fiske both giving fine performances with Susan Howard as the femme fatale in an intriguing storyline.
Garry Cooper made a Western called " VERA CRUZ" With Burt Lancaster, Another great Western have to check if it's here on UA-cam or do we have to kick up to pay for it etc.?
One of the great music scores by Bernard Herrman. Strangers marooned by accident in a remote Mexican settlement. Then a beautiful woman rides in and tells an amazing tale...
Great acting cast! Sadly Gary Cooper died not long after his 60th birthday in 1961 from that dreaded cancer. Susan Hayward died from cancer in her 50's in 1975. Richard widmark lived to be in his 90's . Hugh Marlowe died in 1982 of a heart attack age 71. Cameron Michelle died in 1994 age 75 from cancer. Victor Mendoza died 1994 age 81 of Diabetes. All Rip!
This is a very good movie. I feel the actors could portray courage behavior because they actually had some in their character, the way they were brought up, how they came to be movie actors. I'm just not sure that today's set of character actors can come across in the same way.
Stumbled onto this movie on tv in AZ last winter. Just found it on here. Love it. Great plot and acting. I am into old movies so much better than this high tech, guns blazing, sex filled crap of today.
Gary Cooper and Richard Windmark did not like each other and very rare worked on the same movies. This was one of the rare movies they made together. Enjoy, Susan Haywood beauty and deadly at the same time. its different, with great writing and wonderful music. Who is bar singer what a voice.?
I saw Richard Widmark interviewed by Prof. Richard Brown on AMC and he was very complimentary toward Cooper. Where'd you here this? Widmark and John Wayne now they didn't get along.
Actor Cameron Mitchell Lived in Brooklyn N. Y. Back in the 60's I use to run into him at the same Barber Shop that we went to, He was a nice down to earth guy, To everyone he met, He was from PA. Sadly he passed away in July of 1994 at age 75 From Lung Cancer, May he RIp & is missed by all of his Fans etc.
I didn't like the ending, but the scenery was spectacular!! And, I would watch paint dry if they would put Gary Cooper in the scene!! 🤪🤪 I had SUCH a CRUSH on the soft-spoken Gary Cooper when I was young. He exuded class, decency, dignity, elegance & that quiet macho-sexiness!! It took me years longer to realize many of those same qualities also existed in Richard Widmark!! BOTH MEN FINE ACTORS & HIGH MORAL CHARACTER!!
It's so very interesting the way the woman is depicted in this movie and how addicted, yet venomous the men are toward her. They fall for her, yet are angry for doing so and blame her for their emotional weakness. Thing is they can't seem to help themselves when they are around her and her feminine attributes are intoxicating, so much so it can't be denied. Great movie, storyline, and characters. Kept my attention all the way to the end. BTW the starring male character is my favorite!
Smart observations and I would argue all part of the woman-hating messages that pours out of the movie industry in America. Many times female actors have made comment on the poor treatment they have received from the wasps who run the this insidious business. The 'me-too' movement has sure opened a lot of eyes, yet I feel not much will change, leastways in mighty America and its centre of hollywood...
It is so sad about Susan Hayworth she was great in this movie as well as in The Conqueror,.Tulsa , I Love her acting skills! I can't remember the name of the movie where she won her Academy award she a woman on death row.

Pretty good movie. My two big crushes from when I was a child in the 50s: Gary Cooper and Richard Widmark (in case you thought it was Cameron Mitchell!). However, I would have liked to see some supplies on their hosses for such a long trip -- what about water and food, y'all?
There is a joke about a man who managed to get permission to bring one suitcase of gold to Heaven. St. Peter insisted on opening it and said in surprise, “You brought pavement?”
Richard Widmark was the second most abrasive star back in the day. Real hard to like him. The worst by far was Richard Boone. I wouldn't let him near my family.
I saw this movie when I was a kid. Now I'm 61 years old and watching it 50 years later. Where the heck did the time go to? Life is too short.
I use to watch these myself when they were on. now I turn 59 last week
I hear ya
I’m with you brother ,born in the 60.
I liked this movie . Gary Cooper was too cool . Really impressed by Susan Hayward . I'm impressed by her horsemanship . It really looks like she is doing the riding .
Widmark's witty remarks makes this movie move along nicely from beginning to end.
Garry Cooper is a legend. Richard Widmark was also awesome. AtrueWestern classic
Well done movie. Top 10% easily. Does not have that outdated feel to it. Well written characters and plot. Women make men do crazy things.

Can’t beat a good cup of tea and a western movie.
10:00 Where they go up the mountain trail and jump the gap, integrating the actors and horses with the background scenery is amazing because they did it without CGI.

Gary Cooper, James Stewart and John Wayne those are the three actors I admired.
Richard Widmark and of course John Wayne.
Randolph Scott was also king
Incredible incredible incredible actors and movie
I don't know what brings me to watch this movie over and over again even though it's a simple and classic movie , there is a charm hidden in it !
Well-hidden.
It is because yu enjoy "good ol movies." Not the sorry stuff they put on the screen now. You are correct, "there is a charm hidd'n in it." Take care.
Me too, watching it for the third time
Susan Hayward was so sweet and then Rita Moreno, too. Loved these gals.
It's a good watch, with a great musical score, some boss one-liners, not to mention brilliant acting with Hooker and Fiske both giving fine performances with Susan Howard as the femme fatale in an intriguing storyline.

Great movie and great acting by Gary Cooper....
Good classic movie with good actors. Thanks for the upload.
❤👍
Widmark always had swag about every character he players - Jim Bowie in the Alamo
Tommy fcking Udo
Great picture. Some really good lines of dialogu too. 👍
Always staid and understated. Cooper was damn good! Hayward used them all...
One of the great music scores by Bernard Herrman. Strangers marooned by accident in a remote Mexican settlement. Then a beautiful woman rides in and tells an amazing tale...
thanks for that Rick I like the score who was the girl singer in the Mexican bar?
Bernard Herrmann wrote so many amazing music scores - all those Hitchcock movies, Citizen Kane, Taxi Driver... a genius.
