Yes, we've significantly underestimated the destructive power of DEI (and its sister woke ideologies). Most people have no idea how far the woke has spread and how ingrained it is in our everyday life. Especially underestimated is the massive amount of money that props of the woke ideology and its practice.
Big Corporations and investment banks.
It’s destroying the U.S. and our educational system. Daily in our news we have lawsuits by white men or professors suing for being turned down for jobs or promotions. It’s so dangerous now in the U.S.

The problem is that it gets exported to countries who never had any history of slavery. So it becomes a system of immigration and replacement.
And this is all funded by the Tories over the last 14 years. Why do the Tories allow the police to drive around in transgender police cars? Why do the Tories allow the flag of the American Gay Empire to be used at pelican crossings?

what does Eric have to say about the 'what is a 'women'? problem. This does not seem to be a trend amoungst the so called adults n the room. Iam a women and I feel my civil rights are being transgressed when my safe places are being usd by men, and the law allows this
Our rights as women have been mocked, diluted, degraded, and stolen from us.
These journalists and “thinkers” either gloss over it or ignore it altogether because it is not impacting them personally. Shows us how little they think of their mothers, sisters, girlfriends, wives and colleagues. And children. Everyone on earth should be fighting against this perverted ideology because it poses countless damage to babies, children and young people.
He's saying exactly what John Gray has been saying. Woke is effectively hyper-liberalism. Tolerance (the self-regulating virtue which prohibited us taking liberalism to its authoritarian endpoint) is a religious virtue. In a post religious world we will not exercise the brake. Rather, this will end us on the streets - and worse - fighting for our individual hyper liberalism irrespective of others.
It's not a fait accompli. The outcome you describe is not predetermined. Humans do have agency and can resist a "slippery slope". Those of us who value classical liberal principles (and even moderate progressive liberal principles) can decide to put the brakes on and draw the line at woke authoritarianism, intolerance and illiberalism. Wokism can be reversed, if argued and promoted effectively. We don't have to - and shouldn't - throw the baby out with the bathwater.
The gaping hole in that theory is that Woke-Marxists explicitly reject all the tenets of enlightenment liberalism (on which Western Civilisation is built).
And - American 'liberals' are NOT liberal - they are Leftists.
The irony is that there is nothing liberal about wokeism, it's deeply illiberal.
Woke, DEI, is a religion. It is a belief despite evidence. It it Neo Marxism or at least the concepts came from those who were Marxists, for those who deny that it is Neo Marxism.
Kaufman is such a clear thinker and communicator.
It has not disappeared. I was enrolled in DEI fundamentals training yesterday at my employment; we have to complete it every year. I’m old and don’t buy into it but the young once have so much empathy

In the UK, the problem is Radical Democracy in the form of a bullying Labour Party using the notion of democracy as dynamic rather than absolute in order to reinforce its powerbase, make itself more likely to get elected in the first place, and make its policies irreversible by any subsequent conservative government. It uses the same ideological open-endedness and is just as revolutionary.
One of the best developments of the last decade is conservatives finally admitting they hate democracy. That polls really well with the plebeians you can’t hide your contempt for!

As an outsider, that is not American, Kaufman totally underestimates the insidiousness of Jim Crow and it's generational impact on both Black and white Americans. I can't take Kaufman's opinions on Black Americans seriously.

Yes it gave me pause when he seemed to discount the real race equality struggles of the 60s, seemed disingenuous to me. It was not "just the Panthers" as far as I know. But I'm not American so I just know what I think I know from afar.
But that doesn't explain why the same ideology has spread around the world to places where Jim Crow is irrelevant. I can't take your opinions seriously if you can't even understand Kaufmann's.

It's everywhere. Movies, tv shows, universities, companies. Schools. Watch a movie and carefully look at the casting and the script which will include fake moral statements. Television where there has to be gay, black, Muslims and approved topics without which the show would receive no funding. Woke is being labelled a racist for telling the truth. Woke is telling some one you have offended them. Woke is expecting some one to use your preferred pronouns. Woke is believing there are unlimited genders. Woke is when a university cancels a speaker because the students object to what they have to say. Woke is being at university and not being allowed to express free speech or when a professor marks you down because you dare to challenge them. Woke will bring down our society but it has been deliberately designed to cause division and unrest. Larry Fink, Bill Gates, Jacinda Arden, Justin Trudeau, Ursula Von der Leyen and on and on and on all woke all benefiting from it. While many young brilliant people exist the majority are as thick as bricks and will end up being the cause of a dystopian society. What else would you like to know ?
