I have the same jackery power bank I will say I actually like it it does what I needed to keeping my house battery's on my RV from going dead all the time
Hey Josh, I’m so happy to see your new video - it’s like hearing from an old friend. I would love to add solar power to my camping setup, so this video is very helpful. Hope you’re well - best wishes from southwest Montana.
I purchased one (and a solar panel) mainly for a grid down, end of world situation. This will mainly be used for a lamp, charging phones and flashlights. Thought I could use it for a single heat burner but ill need my gas powered generator for that kind of thing from what ive read.
Hello from Arizona, just confirming that you didn't use the reverse polarity adapter with the the Jackery 290. I didn't see one in the video. I also have an ECOFLO unit that YT videos show REQUIRE the reverse polarity adapter. Don't want to ruin my equipment on the first try. Thanks so much.
Not sure whether you're referring to incandescent lamps. One lamp typicall have power consumption of 40 to 60 W (unlike LED's 10 W) and it'll consume 14% of your 1000 W battery (which is 140 Wh) in 2 to 3 hours.
I had the Costco 48’ strand halogen running 283 watts per hour/lasted 1 hours. Switched to the Costco 48’ LED set, 12-14 watts per hour, lasted 8 hours on the jackery 300+
Has anyone got this setup and it not charge their jackery? I have a 500 and it isn’t charging with the solar, however if I plug in the normal 110 plug into the input it works so I know the input works
If you are using this exact panel no you do not need a charge controller, in fact this panel comes with an adapter to plug it directly into the jackery, If you want to use this panel to charge other devices then most likely you will need a charge controller
Hi Josh, I have the basically the same set up the only thing I need is the cable that goes from the jackery to the solar panel. Do know where I could get one?

Great combo

I have my set up and I am so excited to hit the road.
Good video. Where did you get the J-plug adaptor? I can't find anything close.

Seems like the Explorer 290 is missing a USB-C charger which is actually a standard now.
can u run a coffee pot on this
I was surprised my 1000 watt jackery burned up 14% in a couple hours on a plain simple heat lamp

i was thinking on buying this panel but im not happy with 63 watts for 169.00.There are better deals out there IMO
63 watts is the maximum input that the jackery will allow, the panel puts out 100 plus watts. Full price for these panels are only $129
Why does it never charge close to the 100 watt of power? Mine is always around 60 in
You covered this, jackery has a limited intake. Thanks 👍
Has anyone got this setup and it not charge their jackery?

Can I run a 5000btu window AC unit with it?
No, this one is very small.
I'm at harbor freight right now with both these items scared as hell it won't work
What is the maximum listed output wattage? Take care.
The panel is rated for 20v @ 7amps and 100 watts. Realistically I see 19v @ 5.5 amps and around 88 watts.
@@joshuaburks I meant on the Jackery. Sorry.
@@Ringele5574 400w, this jackery is one of their smallest, they get a lot bigger.
Where can I buy the panel?
Harbor freight, either in store or online, it is a "thunderbolt" brand folding 100 watt panel.
do i need a charge controller
hooked up?

As I understand the Jackery power unit has a built in controller.
Jackery could have added another AC outlet to this power station as it only has one.
like
Chargers are trickle chargers...
It's not a Jack ray 290. It's messing A 120 outlet. And a USB c outlet. So that's why I know.
It's not a 290 day.
