The take on crimson clutter is interesting, I've beaten sine wavs, gotten to the 80s on poltergeist and beaten the wave of pulsar and crimson clutter is basically an impassible wall to me. every second I spend in the crimson clutter wave i'm just dying on loop forever. my practice runs regularly take over 500 attempts.
Honestly it’s just skill based. I’ve beaten poltergeist, silhouette, nc, fairydust, jawbreaker, and a bunch more, and still find crimson clutter quite difficult but not impossible. It’s not quite extreme imo

3k hours and Digital Descent, I know it maybe can sound good but I have a lot of friends and people I know that in one fucking year they went from Decode to levels like Sunset Sandstorm or SW, and me in one year only went from Cata to DD, this is one of the reasons I just want to quit gd, also I'm an attempt farmer and I have slow progress on levels

I’ve been playing this game since 1.8 when Hexagon Force was the newest level & I have 16,526 stars but only 97 demons & only 2 of which are hard demons, the rest are Easy & Medium Demons because I like to enjoy playing the game instead of pushing myself to do the hardest stuff possible & having a mental breakdown because of it.

Deadlocked is the easiest RobTop demon and you can't convince me otherwise. It was my 4th demon and I beat it on a Kindle Fire, whereas I struggled with Clubstep and ToE2 on PC
i’ve always thought of it along the lines of Clubstep = mostly memory TOE2 = half skill, half memory Deadlocked = mostly skill and i’m bad at the video game, therefore

5:10 I agree with this take. Deadlock is mostly just memorisation and muscle memory for me at least. I can go back and beat deadlocked fairly easier, even not being very good at the game. TOE 2 has a lot of bugs and annoying sections that make it harder imo
Hot take: Fire Temple should be a medium demon. Yeah I know the ship section is quite hard, and the rest of the temple series is hard demon, but hear me out. The rest of the level doesn't live up to the ship part. The U.F.O to ship transition is quite learny, but turns out being not too hard and appropriate for a medium demon. The timings at the beginning come pretty slow, and are easy to learn(but you can still mess up). Quite appropriate for a medium demon. The swing copter and ending are medium demon appropriate as well. The ball after the ship, and the wave parts are just free. The only part that is appropriate for a hard demon is the 2 ship parts which are balanced out by free parts. I ended up beating Fire Temple in 1200 attempts. For context Boom Slayer took me 1400 attempts (though I was getting used to a new mouse at the time) and my hardest is Nine Circles (or Jawbreaker but I personally think NC is harder). Granted I did kinda fluke Fire Temple from 69, but still even if I didn't it shouldn't have taken me less attempts than what is considered a mid tier medium demon. Lava temple may also be a medium demon, but I am on the border for that one. Probably a very low end hard demon. I haven't played enough of water temple to tell if the U.F.O parts are hard enough for it to be a hard demon. That one might be a medium demon honestly. Hard to tell since U.F.O is my worst game mode. Shadow temple onward really does pick up in difficulty in my opinion. No big deal really, just wanted to add to the comments section.

Here is just a few I've seen: - The unnerfed apocalyptic trilogy is legacy difficulty - unnerfed Silent Circles will be verified eventually - Using an ldm in a level is cheating - The fernanfloo levels are feature worthy (by TODAYS standards too) - layouts should be rated (not even effect layouts, literally just layouts) - Kowareta is an insane demon without decoration - Cold Sweat is a Nine Circles level
to be *completely fair* i think there’s a bug in SC that’s essentially a secret way from the end of the first wave all the way to 100 and UFWM’s been fucking going hard on SC so it’s _feasible_
2:50 the only demon i’ve beat, and have called easy and genuinely meant it is B. The only part that takes learning is the 4 speed ball and maybe the ship at the beginning. Other than that it’s all readable. That doesn’t mean it isn’t fun because it actually is.
Dude I've poured over 600 hours into this game, just beat my 60th demon, and not one out of those 60 are above a medium demon difficulty. Hell, very few are above an easy demon. It really doesn't matter. Play the game to have fun, not to be a good player. In some cases you might even find the latter is a result of the former.

I feel like each demon difficulty should have different rewards. Examples.. Easy: 10 stars, 500 orbs Medium: 14 stars, 650 orbs Hard: 16 stars, 800 orbs Insane: 20 stars, 950 orbs Extreme: 25 stars, 1200 orbs Would be a cool update, I think.
In my opinion, deadlocked is an easy demon or perhaps a really easy medium, mostly because the level's difficulty is like 9 star to easy demon for 80% of the level and has a considerable amount of muscle memory. also for anybody trying to beat it, the 14% wave does get consistent after a while. still the hardest robtop level tho

I’m a believer of deadlocked being the easiest main level demon. I just found it the most consistent one. I think back when I was bad, I thought it was the hardest, but now that I’m better I find it easier.

I genuinely think that Deadlocked is the easiest main level demon, I am obviously bias because I rebeat it so much and also beat it before Clubstep and TOEIII (and struggled a lot less, and took less attempts on it).
In my honest opinion, Deadlocked is easier than Clubstep and TOE 2. Clubstep was my first demon, coming in at 500 attempts, then TOE 2 was around 2k, done a week later. The next day I did Deadlocked in 300 attempts.

5:01 i dont think that deadlocked is the easiest robtop demon bit it definitely is the most consistent and the hardest part is the first wave which you get consistent at pretty quickly (just like the bloodlust first ship for context). the rest of the level is easy to learn and it is pretty balanced as it doesn't rely on *one* gamemode unlike clubstep and to some extent TOE2.
5:10 the only main demon ive beaten is deadlocked, i find it easier to grind since the drop/choke point is really early in the level while in clubstep its a lot later. toe 2 i just hate

I came to the “someone said that if you haven’t beaten an extreme demon you are objectively bad at the game” and I just wanted to ramble on, so thats what I’m doing. First of all I just want to say that I know that I am probably in the top 500k, even though I consider myself pretty meh at the game (currently trying to beat Nine Circles as a jump from deadlocked). but I would say that just beating a single demon makes you a decent GD player, and beating several makes you great. I dont think a single demon alone makes you a good GD player, but showing that you do have the skill to beat _several_ of those high difficulty levels (eg easy demons) does make you good at the game. This community has evolved so much when it comes to skill, that what was once the hardest legitimately verified levels by far in the game, Bloodbath, has now over 1500 victors. let me give an example of just how ridiculous difficulty has gotten, how many times harder is Aod than Zodiac? 1.5? 2? 5? well the percentage separating these two is 0.46%. 0.46% that has increased difficulty so drastically people cant tell the difference between it and 500%. the fact that not even half a percent separates Zodiac from AoD but AoD is perceived as leauges harder than Zodiac just goes to show how hard difficulty has gotten and just how ridiculously hard top 5s are. if a level even comes close to twice the difficulty of zodiac then I can almost guarantee you that it WILL be the hardest thing ever legitimatley verified by a human being. If I would try and give as accurate of an estimate as to how many players have beaten an extreme demon I would probably say less than or equal to 5000. and hasn’t GD gotten like 25 million registered accounts over all platforms? thats one in 5000 people, 0.02% of accounts. anyways sorry for rambling and have a nice day
Here's probably a hot-take imo, ToE 2 is the hardest main level because it requires relative mastery of every skill introduced to the player up to that point. Clubstep and Deadlocked are hard because they have insane emphasis on the Ship and Wave gamemode while demanding very little from other skills which makes them based entirely on skillset rather than actual genuine mastery of all of the games mechanics. If you wanna say that Deadlocked is harder anyway, that's absolutely fair and is probably true, but at the very least ToE 2 defo feels like the ultimate challenge for players going through the main levels as it really does put emphasis on everything they have learned so far rather than just "r u good at this one single gamemode???"

5:10 I agree with this take. Deadlock is mostly just memorisation and muscle memory for me at least. I can go back and beat deadlocked fairly easier, even not being very good at the game. TOE 2 has a lot of bugs and annoying sections that make it harder imo

Hot take: Fire Temple should be a medium demon. Yeah I know the ship section is quite hard, and the rest of the temple series is hard demon, but hear me out. The rest of the level doesn't live up to the ship part. The U.F.O to ship transition is quite learny, but turns out being not too hard and appropriate for a medium demon. The timings at the beginning come pretty slow, and are easy to learn(but you can still mess up). Quite appropriate for a medium demon. The swing copter and ending are medium demon appropriate as well. The ball after the ship, and the wave parts are just free. The only part that is appropriate for a hard demon is the 2 ship parts which are balanced out by free parts. I ended up beating Fire Temple in 1200 attempts. For context Boom Slayer took me 1400 attempts (though I was getting used to a new mouse at the time) and my hardest is Nine Circles (or Jawbreaker but I personally think NC is harder). Granted I did kinda fluke Fire Temple from 69, but still even if I didn't it shouldn't have taken me less attempts than what is considered a mid tier medium demon.
Lava temple may also be a medium demon, but I am on the border for that one. Probably a very low end hard demon. I haven't played enough of water temple to tell if the U.F.O parts are hard enough for it to be a hard demon. That one might be a medium demon honestly. Hard to tell since U.F.O is my worst game mode. Shadow temple onward really does pick up in difficulty in my opinion. No big deal really, just wanted to add to the comments section.

Alright so I missed the twitter thread but I figured I'll post it here. I'm an r/geometrydash moderator, and in my time on it I've seen some monumentally terrible takes. Here is just a few I've seen:
- The unnerfed apocalyptic trilogy is legacy difficulty
- unnerfed Silent Circles will be verified eventually
- Using an ldm in a level is cheating
- The fernanfloo levels are feature worthy (by TODAYS standards too)
- layouts should be rated (not even effect layouts, literally just layouts)
- Kowareta is an insane demon without decoration
- Cold Sweat is a Nine Circles level
to be *completely fair* i think there’s a bug in SC that’s essentially a secret way from the end of the first wave all the way to 100
and UFWM’s been fucking going hard on SC so it’s _feasible_

the only demon i’ve beat, and have called easy and genuinely meant it is B. The only part that takes learning is the 4 speed ball and maybe the ship at the beginning. Other than that it’s all readable. That doesn’t mean it isn’t fun because it actually is.
Dude I've poured over 600 hours into this game, just beat my 60th demon, and not one out of those 60 are above a medium demon difficulty. Hell, very few are above an easy demon. It really doesn't matter. Play the game to have fun, not to be a good player. In some cases you might even find the latter is a result of the former.

Easy: 10 stars, 500 orbs
Medium: 14 stars, 650 orbs
Hard: 16 stars, 800 orbs
Insane: 20 stars, 950 orbs
Extreme: 25 stars, 1200 orbs

In my opinion, deadlocked is an easy demon or perhaps a really easy medium, mostly because the level's difficulty is like 9 star to easy demon for 80% of the level and has a considerable amount of muscle memory. also for anybody trying to beat it, the 14% wave does get consistent after a while. still the hardest robtop level tho

I’m a believer of deadlocked being the easiest main level demon. I just found it the most consistent one. I think back when I was bad, I thought it was the hardest, but now that I’m better I find it easier.

Clubstep was my first demon, coming in at 500 attempts, then TOE 2 was around 2k, done a week later.
The next day I did Deadlocked in 300 attempts.

I heavily agree with "your not good at the game if you haven't beaten an extreme/have list points" cause I have the option to grind the last 3 or so hours to beat acu as my first extreme or beat freedom08 or lucid chaos(favorite list extremes and most likely to beat as first list demons) if I want but I don't. despite that I still call myself "good."

I beat Deadlocked first out of the main demons. I genuinely believe it is easier than Clubstep and ToE 2, just because I feel like once you learn it, it's pretty easy.

5:01 i dont think that deadlocked is the easiest robtop demon bit it definitely is the most consistent and the hardest part is the first wave which you get consistent at pretty quickly (just like the bloodlust first ship for context). the rest of the level is easy to learn and it is pretty balanced as it doesn't rely on *one* gamemode unlike clubstep and to some extent TOE2.

I came to the “someone said that if you haven’t beaten an extreme demon you are objectively bad at the game” and I just wanted to ramble on, so thats what I’m doing. First of all I just want to say that I know that I am probably in the top 500k, even though I consider myself pretty meh at the game (currently trying to beat Nine Circles as a jump from deadlocked). but I would say that just beating a single demon makes you a decent GD player, and beating several makes you great. I dont think a single demon alone makes you a good GD player, but showing that you do have the skill to beat _several_ of those high difficulty levels (eg easy demons) does make you good at the game.
This community has evolved so much when it comes to skill, that what was once the hardest legitimately verified levels by far in the game, Bloodbath, has now over 1500 victors. let me give an example of just how ridiculous difficulty has gotten, how many times harder is Aod than Zodiac? 1.5? 2? 5? well the percentage separating these two is 0.46%. 0.46% that has increased difficulty so drastically people cant tell the difference between it and 500%. the fact that not even half a percent separates Zodiac from AoD but AoD is perceived as leauges harder than Zodiac just goes to show how hard difficulty has gotten and just how ridiculously hard top 5s are. if a level even comes close to twice the difficulty of zodiac then I can almost guarantee you that it WILL be the hardest thing ever legitimatley verified by a human being.
If I would try and give as accurate of an estimate as to how many players have beaten an extreme demon I would probably say less than or equal to 5000. and hasn’t GD gotten like 25 million registered accounts over all platforms? thats one in 5000 people, 0.02% of accounts.

imo, ToE 2 is the hardest main level because it requires relative mastery of every skill introduced to the player up to that point.
Clubstep and Deadlocked are hard because they have insane emphasis on the Ship and Wave gamemode while demanding very little from other skills which makes them based entirely on skillset rather than actual genuine mastery of all of the games mechanics.
If you wanna say that Deadlocked is harder anyway, that's absolutely fair and is probably true, but at the very least ToE 2 defo feels like the ultimate challenge for players going through the main levels as it really does put emphasis on everything they have learned so far rather than just "r u good at this one single gamemode???"
