Thank you very much, I enjoyed putting this together to let people see how great the Von Erichs were, and why they should be remember for their greatness in the ring.
Awesome tribute video. I only started watching WCCW as a young kid in 1987 on ESPN when the promtoion was already on its way downhill. But wow, that early 80s run in WCCW will never be recreated. you can see from these clips the absolute genuine love the fans had for the Von Erichs. I love the contrast between the three primary brothers: David, the big, shitkickin' cowboy; Kevin, the wiry aerial artist with his barefoot style; and Kerry, the rock-star like, long haired Adonis/Greek god.
Thank you, I do find myself watching these old matches with the Von Erich's more than I watch whats on tv today. So, I guess that means that I enjoy those matches more than what the WWE is putting out now.
You have done Mickey Grant proud with this video. I LIVED this era, I was at Texas Stadium on May 6, 1984, and it had all the energy and edge this video does. Well done.
Great video - World Class and the Von Erichs RULES! It breaks my heart what happened to the family. Had David lived I can only imagine how great a feud it would have been seeing him fight Ric Flair through the 80s!
these legend i used to watch every saturday on tv when i was 5 years old and my favorate of them was kery von erich. i remeber his amzing perfect body. i miss him. may he rest in peace.
The Von Erichs are my favorite wrestlers of all time! I watched them as a kid growing up in Texas. My Dad would take me to the Taylor County Coliseum in Abilene Texas to see them wrestle. They were larger than life too me as a 8 year old kid. I got up on the ring and shook their hands before they would start the matches. Man that was the days! You could get right up there with your heroes and talk with them. It will never be like that again. I miss watching them, they were the best!
this is a great video of dave, kevin and kerry.i just wished they were still alive to wrestle anyone.watching the von erich's wrestle is better than watching today's wrestling!!
thanks, It was great making this video, it took me back to a time, when werstling was so much fun to be a part of! Good guys were good and bad guys were bad. And the Von Erich's were always winners! You could watch them and feel good about what you were seeing.
Wrestling in the 80s was 1,000,000 times better than the crap we get now. I haven't watched wrestling in over 5 years. I used a to be huge fan in the 80s & 90s. The 80s was the best time to be a wrestling fan. The magic is gone!
Yep, We would watch them every time they were there. There was one match where David Von Erich was up in the crowd and he was going to fight Kabuki. Kabuki was in the ring and David crawled under the seats and came up on the other side of the ring. He came up from behind Kabuki and rolled him up and won the match, it was great.
your welcome. I grew up in Texas watching the Von Erichs. I loved watching them wrestle. As a kid they were my hero's. To me they were larger than life. my mom and dad would take me to see them all the time, I could not wait! My memories of Von Erichs were of fun times and good feelings, so that is what I was shooting for with this video.
That would be great to see. the Von Erich statues were the sportatorium stood! They were the beset of all time, I loved to watch them when I was a kid. I grew up with the Von Erichs they were my heroes! And your right Kevin flew like no one else!
I loved the von erics and Iceman king parsons they were my favorites! I used to love when they would come to taylor county. they were larger than life! wow! Kevin was the man!
their matches were the best.i used to have alot of videos of them i taped off of espn in the late 80's(more of kevin/kerry),but i don't any more.i did keep two tapes,i would wear them out watching them, then.kerry was my fav,now dave is.
I was at the Sportatorium when they made the announcement about David, back in '84.You could feel the tension all over Dallas like something was wrong. On a different subject,go check out the Jack in the Box Stoner commercial here on youtube.Just look at the driver's face!!!
Who knows - but as a wrestling fan I wonder how different the sport would be today if he lived? He was going to be NWA Champion. I think it is safe to say David Von Erich vs Ric Flair would have been the dominant feud of the 80s - rather than the awful Flair vs Rhodes matches. The WCCW might have gone national. It is pretty amazing that we are still 25 years later discussing how one man might have changed wrestling entirely from what it is today!
Loved your video. But I have to say the two Von Erichs that stole my heart and even though they are barely in the video were Mike and Chris. I mean Mike took a piece of my heart after he had that shoulder surgery and watching the difference in him was just plain awful. He didn't even want to be a wrestler. And Chris, well I have to say he just definitely took the key to my heart wanting so passionate about wrestling and he just couldn't totally broke my heart in a million pieces. LUV CHRIS-MIKE
exactly & even if David had lived on during the 1990's I would have loved to see David Von Erich Vs "Natural" Dustin Rhodes (if Dustin was in WCCW, as well as pushed properly & never made into Goldust or recently Black Reign)
Hey this was a good tribute but how can you have a vid about one of the greatest wrestling families without having Mike and Chris in the vid..im from Dallas,Texas and im somewhat insulted lol
Granted Hogan had some classics in AJPW, but for the moreover he was carried in those matches & I'm glad Gagne never made'm champion during his AWA days. Cause really weather it be the AJPW, AWA, WCW, or wwFe Hogan had no idea how to wrestle
this is just superb by far one of the best tributes i have ever seen. ive watched it at least 5 times this week.
Thank you very much, I enjoyed putting this together to let people see how great the Von Erichs were, and why they should be remember for their greatness in the ring.
Really nice job with this vid! Kerry was my hero growing up. He will always be missed. God Bless you all Von Erichs.
With a tear in my eye, I enjoyed watching this footage. Thanks. :)

Gotta love the 3-man drop kick at 2:30
WHAT WAS THE NAME OF THE SONG THAT USED TO PLAY WITH THE VIDEO BEFORE THEY DISABLED IT IT WAS THE PERFECT SONG FOR THIS VIDEO
Thanks, I agree that would have been one of the greatest feuds ever. Then who knows David Von Erich and Hulk Hogan?
They are The Kennedys of Pro Wrestling
exactly & even if David had lived on during the 1990's I would have loved to see David Von Erich Vs "Natural" Dustin Rhodes (if Dustin was in WCCW, as well as pushed properly & never made into Goldust or recently Black Reign)
I agree 100%
didnt they come out once using the yellow rose of tx song? i think was at texas stadium?
Tripple Drop Kick was ill as hell!!!!!
What the'80's were all about.
Awesome trubie. David, IMO, was the best of all
I could not have said it better!
what was the von erichs entrance music as a tag team?
Hey this was a good tribute but how can you have a vid about one of the greatest wrestling families without having Mike and Chris in the vid..im from Dallas,Texas and im somewhat insulted lol
agreed & without Fritz to
after the von erichs I could never watch wrestling again even if the Fabulous Freebirds were still around. lol

that is a lost art is it not? lol
