I totally hope that he will put up some of those home movies he says he still has of his dad. Would love to know a bit more about what Chris Benoit the person was like, pre-CTE days. This was such an excellent and well handled interview.

Because the world is black and white, good is good, and evil is evil, and we should never learn anything about people who did bad things. Benoit had the brain of an 80 year old, CTE is a real thing that we are still learning about today, and we've heard countless stories that highlight the good and bad parts of him.
I'm not advocating that he should be in the Hall of Fame, because thats stupid. You don't put murderers in. But it would be interesting to see what kind of person Benoit was during David's childhood.

Actually I would really love to see him and Brian pillman Jr break into the wrestling business together. Actually Brian's already there but him and David could form a tag team maybe I mean both of their fathers are dead. But it would still make a good story for these two kids that lost their dads and want to pursue their own dreams of doing what their dads did. Rip Chris Benoit and Brian pillman.

I'm sure he has his reasons but you can't take him serious ad a wrestler if he isn't willing to complete the free training that's been offered. It is dangerous to him and his opponent if he isn't trained properly. Remember wrestling is staged by amazing performers who trained alot to do what they do.

You can feel the atmosphere of the interview. It's like he wanted to say so much and it was hard to push it out, with Chris genuinely trying to pull thigs out of him helping him. David wants a way out of the shadows. The fact he has admiration for his own father as a wrestler... he called him "My hero". Man.. a son that has that sense of forgiveness for what has happened and the face he made when Chris mentioned how WWE handles the whole thing, canceling his father... well... speaks volume and it's truly emotional. I really wish all the best to this man, we have the same first name.
Dunno what he's doing now, 3 years later, he definitely has advisors like Chris Jericho and others big names like that so I'm sure he's doing the best for himself. I loved watching his father when I was a teenager, I'll definitely enjoy watching David if he really makes it through the shit a lot of people will throw at him. Enormous boots to fir for real but he's got the balls to not let the dream fade or get washed away.

Don’t pay attention much to wwe now when he was there a couple years ago, but He’s brilliant in AEW. I remember his wwf days/early wwe days and his character was great. But man AEW really revived him. Reminds me of his old Y2J days.

Great interview Chris! For anyone that speaks on how quiet David is just have to remember that he went through a really traumatic experience at a young age that he won't necessarily ever get over. It is understandable that he is more closed off than most, but for him to come out and do this interview despite how people judge his father, speaks volumes of his character. My sister passed away in 1994 and even though that was nearly 26 years ago, it is still tough for me to talk about, especially to random people. David did an amazing job!

Took a bit for him to get into things here, by the sounds of it. Thanks to your proffesionalism you got him to liven a little more up and the interview really took speed.
Benoit was my first favorite wrestler of my late teens, my first serious fanboy moment was for him and his abilities. Almost broke me completely back when the news came out and there's still so many unanswered questions.
So this was a great interview for that. Still weirdly enough a tense subject, even though it's been so many years, but as always you handled it really well CVV. You knew this interview would be different than the usual ones and you took it like a pro, Chris. Great job.

I wish I could hug this guy.
Everything he had to go through, and still does... man, I have my issues too, and I can only imagine how it must be for him, especially seeing as he's Benoit's son and he KNOWS how his father actually was as a father and man. I'm just a mere fan, and to this day I feel bad about it all, as people are still so eager to blame Benoit for his actions as if there was no chance of some sort of psychological reason being involved just because "he could find his way to an airport". As if they knew about the human mind and what may have been happening in his head. YES, it was a huge tragedy, but... that's how life is sometimes: stuff keeps piling up until a tragedy happens, and then instead of learning from it we just blame the person involved and move on. Kinda like when you see people snap because of bullying, and instead of treating it as a serious issue we have those idiots claiming that "durh durh someone also punched me one time and I didn't kill anyone because of it derd derp", as if the human mind was simple as that.
As I said, I have my own issues and have been going through therapy for some time now, and I can only relate to what he may be feeling and how hard it is to be at peace with what's going on inside of us, even if my issues aren't the same as his. He seems like a genuinely great person, someone who would be great to talk to, and I hope he finds his way to a wrestling ring and live his passion. I also hope that he keeps cherishing all the memories he has of Benoit, because he has every reason and right in the world to miss his father and remember him for the good times. God bless David.

It's amazing what ppl say without educating themselves. The shame is the lengths someone his size had to go through to get over..... Don't say roid rage, as there's no evidence of that even existing. On the other hand, CTE has now been linked to numerous cases that ended in Suicide and murder. Severe damage to the brain is no joke.....CTE brings in an onslaught of severe mental issues and one little trigger is all it takes. In Benoits case, Eddie was the guy who helped him get himself together and keep it together..... That's where he started spiraling and was unable to get out together. A person with a normal version would've processed that over time. I'm sure there were other triggers, and I'd also place money that without brain injuries, judging by his reputation, the crimes never would've happened. The real shame is Vince McMahon sweeping it under a rug and trying to avoid the situation, to avoid tarnishing company reputation. Vince is extremely influential, and could've used his platform to help educate and spread awareness.... Showing the company adopting safer practices and educating likely would've been better damage control, but Vince only cares about the money and image..... The wwe can't have that on it's image

Man, I love David already. I want him to be successful just like his father. His father is a legend, love his Wrestlemania moment with Eddie Guerrero.
    Godspeed David, Godspeed.

I think it’s one of those instances where two people think something at the same time, haven’t you ever with someone had a convo and both of u go to say something at the same time. I mean they talked tragedy, they brought up Eddie and then he goes do you think that (and I just feel David knew that was coming) and it’s something he wanted to share. I think most people believe the real Chris Benoit died when edddie died he broke down. Those diary entries are damn cryptic and make no sense. I really wish for people who think Benoit is just evil to read those entries and the brain scans to prove he wasn’t just some evil dude. It’s not like he took pleasure in the murders

Ps- I’m not saying it’s completely forgivable or it’s not wrong obviously.
And also it’s a good catch by you your post. I want trying to discredit it

@@MachoWrestling101 Yeah, I was mostly highlighting that he's gotten that question so many times in his life, that it was almost second nature for him to answer.

Great job by the interviewer respectfully talking about a difficult subject. You can tell that David felt comfortable sharing details.

I couldn’t imagine what this man has been through. The strength to go through that at such a young age and come out a stronger, well adjusted person is commendable. I wish you the best David.

What's even MORE impressive is he works in Fort Mac a Hot Bed for Cocaine. And he seems sober. Even with it all around him. I know so many people who work where he does and use it to stay awake and keep going

Nothing but respect for David Benoit. I have been friends with him since like the last 5-6 years. He's a great guy. Really respectful. Can't wait to see him get in the ring and continue his father's legacy. I miss Chris Benoit everyday. Just shared this video on the biggest Chris Benoit page on Facebook (made by me), "Chris Benoit Fans". All the best, David!
P.S.: David can use his laugh as a heel in professional wrestling (like Seth Rollins' laugh). Just my opinion haha.
