- I completed Horizon Zero Dawn on Ultra Hard difficulty using only the spear. This was a really fun challenge and let to some interesting combat strategies. I am sure this challenge will be a lot more interesting in Horizon Forbidden West when the spear will have a lot of abilities.

But if it is a new game you would not be able to use spear coils unless you go to the frozen wilds....
Would just have to go and get the upgrade :)
GG I think HFW only Spear will be even cooler.
Would be easy if you considered throwing spears.
Just on my first play through and I find myself just using stealth and spear most of the time even though I have enough ammo to use my bow lol. Might want to do spear all the way and see how it goes. Problem is, I don’t have that shield armour yet.
I actually do like the idea of trying a new game challenge with it, because I’m curious as to how long it’d take without the ability to have NG+ items.
it took me quite a while, as rockbreakers are pain to kill with melee, and so are deathbringers. corrupters are not a threat as u have the ability to knock over big enemies by then
the strat of getting on top of a deathbringer (and dodging while on top of it) its so damn cool like how do people come up with stuff like this? LOL, enjoying the vid so far!
Honestly before this video I had no clue you machines even functioned as stable footing...

Just wondering, why didn't you load up the loadout with meat to craft potions when required?
Or simply dupe them (drop and pick up)? With all the tricks you are using that one shouldn't matter.

Any other weapon and you would have to farm for the ammo. The spear has limitless ammo for as long as you want to swing the spear.

Reach the end using only the Banuck ray launcher. It would be really cool.

You can go for another r2 before the critical and cancel the animation but get lots of damage on staggered machines

This is a old video. But just want to thank you for this Speedrun. Helped me get ultra hard ng+ achievements. Was able to do a couple of your skips but more importantly if you can beat the enemies with a spear I knew I could do it will all the weapons lol.

You sir, underestimate how much I suck. That was the hardest hurdle I had to earn the trophy on PS4. I ran out of time a few times and finally beat it with literally like 2 seconds left. I thought I lost again and had to restart. Then I realized they were yelling at me to kill HADES.

Waiting for a New Game spear only 100% ultra hard no death speed run to stop all the nay-sayers who think you aren't that good. I suck so bad at this game I only play on normal difficulty. Then again I usually play these types of games with a mouse and keyboard. And honestly I don't play these types of games much anyway, but I'm well intrigued by this game.

NG+ well, that's just cheating isn't it. You already have all the best items etc.
Just the best armour which you can get very easily, spear which you get by going along the main story anyway and some heals
