- I complete Horizon Zero Dawn without taking any damage on Ultra Hard difficulty. Some people also refer to this as a No Hit run. The run was done for a fresh playthrough also known as New Game. The goal of the run is to complete the main quest without loosing any health but there where some few extra rules I added as well:
-Loosing any health means the run has to start over.
-Scripted damage does not count. (After Proving and Ridge Defense).
-No Health Boost Potions.
-No Shield-Weaver Outfit.

Thinking about it this is practically how Aloy went through the whole story canonically because even single strike from machines should be really dangerous if not fatal
True. Only until she got that Shield Weaver Armor can she fight more upfront and personal. So it makes sense you can "only" get it near the end-game

@@JoannaJedrzejczyksForehead Huh? Don't you need to be at least in the Gaia Prime quest to get all 5 power cells? I wouldnt call that bee lining if you're next to done the game.

I love watching speedruns like these because you can learn so much from them even if you want to play the game casually
Ultra hard was no where near as difficult as I thought it was going to be but I could not imagine doing a no damage run
I feel like the difficulty was a bit disappointing in the sense of "just more chunky enemies and more squishy Aloy". It's not like new enemy placement or anything else changes, nor their aim, detection radius, aggressiveness or whatever.

@@anonssr9514 like imagine of they make the enemies stronger but also switched up the attack patterns of some enemies or had more enemies that worked together in sections like the arena or defense of mothers heart
@@anonssr9514 actually UH does increase enemies' detection range, aggression, and speed/frequency of attack. I agree it feels like it still could be much harder (I'm new to the game and in my first NG+ playthrough) which is why I've also turned off all of the HUD as well for added challenge (already had turned off most just for immersion, but playing without crosshairs is quite a learning curve).
What game are you comparing it to where the Ultra hard difficulty was much more difficult. Only GoW 2018 I can think of where the difficutly you can choose on first playthrough was harder than this.

I just completed my achievements with my ultra hard NG+ playthrough and there were several "wish I had known" moments here. The deathbringer door trick in the Grave Hoard and the cheese at the ridge. I died like 20 times at the ridge, the only spot where I had real issues. HZD Ultra Hard is really accessible even for casuals if you do a NG+ before to get adept weapons and frozen wild coils and know a little what you are doing.

1:03:24 Because the APU in the PS5 is a Ryzen 7 with graphics that are similar (slightly weaker) than the RX 6700 XT - which means a big GPU bottleneck at 4K - and CPU reurs "at will". Well, if you build a balanced computer - there is not so much excess CPU power.

I mean a no hit play through on ultra hard is the same as a no hit play through on easy as it doesn’t change enemy behaviour just their damage. As someone who’s platinumed the game and completed it on ultra hard i can’t imagine even coming close to what they did.
It would still be hard on the lowest difficulty, but it is harder on Ultra Hard since all your weapons are weaker on higher difficulty and there for fights become longer meaning there is more chance of getting hit. Atleast how I see it.

Enemies are more aggressive on ultra hard and multiple dinobot can attack you at the same time, there is an official list of differences for ultra hard runs.
@@albertwolf6668 I'm glad it's actually harder on Ultra Hard aka multiple enemies attacking at the same time, enemies being more aggressive, greater range to perceive you, no enemy health bars... and no just lazy damage multipliers.
@@Z3t487 yep, ultra hard in my eyes is the only acceptable mode to play this game, everything else is just too easy or it become too easy after 15-20 hours.
I'm extremely pissed off that forbidden west only has very hard because they are probably saving ultra hard for the dlc like they did with frozen wild.

well, why would you play a sport for years? Dont you like different sports? Why perfect drawing for years when you can get other hobbies? It all has the same answer, to get as good as possible and to have fun. Speedrunning and challenge runs are the same, we do it to get as good as possible, and to have fun.

You realize that we (the speedrunning community) have already played through the game casually many times right? There is not a whole lot more fun to get from the game casually after that, so we speedrun the game and challenge ourselves to keep the game fun.

Why you, for some reason or another, really believe that people are able to just speed run a completely new experience to them is beyond comprehensible. Clearly the first time someone plays a game, they have to figure out that said game, become invested in the story, and mechanics, before they decide if they want to run it or not.
