Unl_ Zephyr_ thanks for the tips . thats something I have noticed, when I killed longlegs with a melee attack I don't get much loot, if I kill them destroying parts I get the blue icon. I just got a ps4 in December, I played uncharted 1st now HZD. that game is awsome. I dont remember having this much fun
Can we all take a moment to appreciate that he took the time to locate a fire bellowback right next to a freeze bellowback just so he could show how to kill each one?
i removed the shell from a shell walker, and he conveniently walked over to it an put it back on..the most humorous thing I ever saw in this game....hahaha...overall i learnt a few more things from this tutorial.
What I learned from this video: 1. Freeze is a lot more useful than I thought 2. I must remind myself to put more than one arrow on the bow 3. I should be using the jumping slow mo a lot more Very good video, thanks for all the useful information.
It's uncanny how this video improved my skill level from frustrated ammo-waster to complete bad ass within minutes... My Aloy is now an acrobatic Rambo. Many thanks!
I’m replaying the game on new game + after platinum trophying it! Love this game so much. If you like Horizon, play Breath of the wild. It’s also amazing!
I can't emphasize enough how much I enjoy and use this guide when I play. Between night school, a day job and life in general, I just don't have the time I would like to have to experiment on my own and gain extensive experience on how to deal with each machine. I also don't feel like I'm breaking the game by following the strategies, only that I've been taught how to hunt properly. This guide is timeless, many, many thanks Jam!
when i first started playing I was scared of engaging with watchers and striders. I thought scrappers were boss battles and the initial sawtooth was very very very stressful for me and I was the biggest noob. after playing a month im a pro. time to become an expert pro! ty for video information :))
@@corridorzzz5872 I know I'm late and you guys are experts like me now but thunderjaws are the easiest for me just shoot the cannon on its back take the weapon and shoot it at the thunderjaw
Im new to adventure videos games on ps4 and I felt the same way with watchers and striders. That was until I found about skills. The first 7 hours I didnt know skills were a thing. So when I discovered lure call, they were so much easier to take down
Honestly, I don't know if you're gonna be reading this or not but I am so grateful to you from the bottom of my heart. 😭 I have always struggled with killing the bigger machines like sawtooth and I almost gave up on the game when I had to kill like two thunderjaws. After watching your video, I kill everything within seconds and I am progressing through the game with fun. You have my respect, from one hunter to another.
i play on ultra hard.. i cant get hit once or i die.. it changes the whole gameplay perspective.. anything bigger than a cow or whatever its called requires traps.. you cannot fight them.. just run away and put traps.. unless youre playing on easy which is anything less than ultra hard.. you cant fight them.. thats why there are traps in the game.. use traps.. use 100 eyesight widening whatever its called..
@@thothheartmaat2833Even on Hard difficulty, a lot of the strategies he has used here are ineffective. Luckily, there's an Ultra Hard version of this video available as well.
Just a tip: when fighting glinthawks and snapmaws, wear the ice huntress outfit. Mod it with resist freeze and you'll take next to no damage. I don't like the look of the outfit, but it works great.
Frost resist potion + swap in couple purple frost resist mods will do the trick with any armor. Better use armor with native resistance to range or mellee attacks.
A Person! Practice makes perfect. It won't be easy right off the bat. But he gives tips to make it more easier than it would be if you were to play the game casually. And his weapons were maxed out so it will be obviously harder but the video just gives you info on how to deal with different beasts.
A person! Dude maybe he's in the story difficulty which makes fighting robots exriemely easy so if you want to complete the game without raging then go change your difficulty to story
Honestly most helpful guide I’ve ever watched, I’ve got it saved into a folder and every time I get stuck on a robot I watch this video and honestly it helps so much, absolute phenomenal video!
For anyone wondering, i dont think the difficulty matters but after you kill some enemies using the canisters the "game" will learn and start making machines with protections for their canisters which is impressive and this explains why at the start of the game these same machines dont have the protections yet. The details!
Wow, this video is brilliant. Changed my whole approach when dealing with the Zoids! Gave me a lot more confidence to take on machines I've been avoiding. Big thanks for the hard work! You just got an extra sub! Will be passing this video on to my buddies.
7:40 you can get even more blaze by shooting the remaining canisters on the dead grazers with harvest arrows. this way you get roughly 6 times the amount of blaze. just dont loot them before.
I know I'm three years late, but, having just gotten this game, this video is super helpful for showing me several good tactics to use. Since I'm doing an ultra hard playthrough knowing nothing about the game, I really needed some tips on machines I struggle against. I don't know if you're still responding to comments, but if you are it would be great to know what weapons and outfit you're using. I still don't know what I should be prioritizing when it comes to gear.
@@Slamdunkasaurr I found my favorite weapons were the three Banuk bows and the lodge ropecaster. For armor I stuck with the Nora silent hunter with stealth mods in to stay undetected. I would switch to shield-weaver when I was in a tough fight, though.
Endgame gear or not..... it's showcases that tactic and preparation is the key to take pretty much anything down "easily". Great video whoch, despite its length was entertaining from start to finish!
You're the BOSS. Cheers for the great video; the time stamps are a great addition. I watched the video straight through. You've helped me the most in HZD out of any other UA-cam video. Cheers again.
A very well put together ensemble of techniques. Thanks man, I was playing this game way too slow. thanks to you. I now know how to take advantage of the combat elements it has to offer.
Nice Video, thanks. But in my opinion, you missed one of the most important things. Utilising the different armoursuits and potions. For example Thunderbird: he does only electric dmg, so with a electric-potion and the osram electric armor he deals almost NO DMG at all... you can basically stand there and take the hits while aiming the bow.. Would have been an nice part of the video to explain the different dmg types and what to do against it. The fights become pretty easy knowing this, you only have to dodge the charge and melee attacks. My style for example is, to switch armoursuits while fighting, depending on the attacks coming in. That way dealing with large mixed groups of machines at once becomes managable easy. But either way, nice video, thanks for the upload!
Tbh most of us wear the armor he is wearing which has 50 fire resistance if I am correct but looks the best xD I for one only use the one with 50 corruption for the corruped zones and thats about it :)
To be honest I don't care about type difference I just use 3 hard point arrows and wear shield weaver armor and the game becomes a piece of cake except when I run out of resources
I normally get bored watching long videos like these ones but this one in particular is really good this is now my 4 time watching this video last year I watched it 3 times and I'm watching it a 4th times this year the commentary is really good too keep up the great work!!
Truly incredible guide you have here. You really know this game and you're fantastic at playing it. It's obvious from your technique that you could do this with or without endgame gear. Thanks so much for all the effort and info.
This is the only machine guide that actually discusses the weakpoints, elemental effects etc of each machine. I've seen multiple videos purporting to show how to defeat a Deathbringer (for example) and all they do is fire generic arrows at random parts of the machine, fire every elemental grenade/arrow they've got and somehow after a 15 minute fight they've killed it and think they have some deep insight. This is the guide: every other guide on YT is spam.
You gave me confidence to actually hunt them. I'm currently struggling with Snapmaws. Mostly because I'm afraid of them more than other machines. Sawtooth is the easiest, to be honest. In this game, knowing a machine's weakness is crucial to becoming the best hunter, ever.
Thank you so much for your guide! I'm currently at a point in the game where I suddenly and abruptly have to fight a Stormbird. Without being able to adjust my equipment beforehand and then save to start the fight afterwards. Now I can at least prepare properly if I have an older savegame loaded.
I literally cannot thank you enough. The glinthawks were taking my every shot and stab with 5 damage till I realised I can shoot them with a fire arrow 2-3 times in a row to down them. God bless
awesome guide - i love your voice also. not trying to wow and surprise and shock everyone with your madness. Just pure education, interesting opinions and valuable advice - thanks mate! ps. UK also, boshtie!
This video gave me a whole understanding of how deep the strategy in this game is. midway through the game now and all i do is silent strike and spam arrows (usually fire and those heavy hunter bow arrows) I go for weak spots too, but ive never known that you can cause explosions from machines (via canisters or sacs)! Also, I never fully knew what all the weapons did until now. Thanks!! And i thought i was an expert ;P
Jamie Price yeah man. I mean I used to have a severe problem with echo shells but now I have to disassemble some out of my resources because of have too much. I be trying to farm blaze and definitely wire now. Doing a decent job with at least maintaining 380-600 of each resource. They just always drop down each time I have to fight those 5 fireclaws. I’m thinking about changing my strategy so I don’t have to use the ropecaster a lot. Might consider using the trip caster to get him in position, freeze him with the sling or adept lodge war bow, then shoot his shoulder containers with the ice cannon,(since there’s a slight pause in a machines movements at the exact moment you freeze them), proceed to shoot the rest off with the power shot bow, modded with three shadow damage mods (each containing a handling increase as well), and 1 handling mod. Idk, I hope it goes well. Ultra hard really makes you strategize and change up your play through. I love it though.
@@thert4982 Bruh do you wanna know a kamikaze weapon in the game(with frozen wilds dlc) ITS THE FUCKING UPGRADED STORMSLINGER SHOOT THAT WEAPON FOR MORE THAN 3-5 SETS AND PURPLE LIGHTNING COMES OUT KILLING EVERYTHING IN THE AREA
Frostclaws on Ultra Hard are the most difficult enemies imo. I had to figure out that you could roll underneath them to avoid attacks lol even with Shield Weaver you don't get much of a chance.
This video is so good in so many ways that I don't know where to start. Jambomus makes it look real easy, but I have been struggling with the game, although taking the time to get the ancient armor has helped immensely. Takeaways for me are: freeze a lot more and use the multiple arrow skill. And keep plenty of blaze in my inventory for fire arrows (and a flamethrower acquired during the Stone Yield bandit raid) An excellent piece of work that can benefit players at all levels. Thanks!
@Shasvin Puvanesvaran i was scared of going anywere close to them lmfao thats why i quit the game bc i coudent take up on any enemy but ima go back to it
Might be worth mentioning that hitting a Strider,Broadhead,Charger,Grazer or Lancehorn straight in the eye does massive damage to. They are all based on the Watcher in that regard. Especially taking no chances lining up a double or triple arrow shot wich doubles or triples the damage on a fully charged shot. I never understood the head on approach on machines lol. Stalkers for example are much more easier beating them at their own game. Try setting off one of their pulsing trap flares for example and stay hidden placing a trap of your own. Like shockwires. Personally i love nailing it to these stealth jerks sitting in the bushes watching them spasm giving it the finger. The Corruptor advice was solid though. I never knew that thing popped out of his head. I know what i be aiming for because i always light those suckers up. But then unleash on their bodies. Like the deathbringer that is not very effective. The Snapmaw is a nasty piece of work. I noticed it going underwater having spotted me leaping out like crazy. They seem slow but are deviously quick. They give a Stalker a run for it's money. But are very weak to Fire Arrows,Bombs etc.
For stalkers, you can still see them even when they are invisible. Best approach is to shoot their silhouette with a tearblast arrow to knock off the component that makes them invisible. Stalkers in general are very squishy as well, a stacked blast wire kills them instantly
Having read some of the comments below I see that some criticized you. I personally do not own a PlayStation. I am strictly a PC gamer. Thus, in preparation of HZD coming to Steam, for PC, I have watched a lot of gameplay videos. (Don't care about spoilers. I want to know everything there is to know about the game.) Obviously, I am certain that the game mechanics will be slightly different for the PC. Thus, learning how to play the game with a controller will help me play the game on a keyboard and mouse. That said, I am already in trouble. I am not a mobile player. I tend to stand my ground in all the video games that I have played... since 1996. I know there is going to be a massive learning curve for me but the game and the storyline look incredible and I want to play it. That said, I want to thank you for this video. It is going to help me a lot.
@@mystik4957 At 73 my reaction has slowed down quite a bit so I play a lot of PC games on 'easy' or 'story'. I am not in a competition with myself so it doesn't matter. I do it for the story and enjoyment. That said, I use a lot of mods in my games.
i watched the full hour in one go (SO worth it!! you're brilliant!) please tell me you'll be doing one for the scorcher and daemonic machines from frozen wilds? i literally almost die every time i come across a daemonic scorcher they're AWFUL (not as in bad machine but like awful for me to kill i guess) pleaaaase?
I know this is an old comment but the Frozen Wilds enemies were designed to be absolute pains in the ass. Scorchers are best dealt with by destroying the electric unit on their butts to stun them first, destroying the mine launcher while they're stunned, and then finish it however you want. You can do all of that before you're even spotted. Frostclaws are easier. Just tough in groups. Notch 3 arrows and hit the freeze sacs until they burst. Then ropecasting and sticky bombs while they're frozen works well. Destroying all freeze sacs makes them lose half their attacks and makes them take massive damage. Fireclaws are a HUGE bitch. They have a hidden 80% resistance to explosives so don't even bother with the blast sling. It takes forever to freeze or ropecast them. Plus they can negate those statuses in an instant if the AI chooses to do certain attacks. Arrows to the fire sacs and shock canister procs are the only way. Once all 3 units are destroyed, it takes fire damage over time until it dies and the fire attacks stop. The Fireclaw is the toughest enemy in the game for sure. On UH I fight them like a complete wuss. I snipe from afar, run away, hide, repeat until all units are destroyed. Then and only then will I face it head on
Well if anyone is reading this with the PC version, Scorchers are a bit harder than they were. A lot of updates changed the game since it was on PS4. If you face a Scorcher and still have a hard time with them after the below comments. Use Fire resist potions, almost all of the damage Scorchers do is Fire based. with Fire resist potions (if you don't have fire resist gear) they almost do no damage. In my gameplay, I would randomly have Scorchers blink clear across the map to me. Also, anyone on PC if you do the Stealth Trials, the Sleight of Crate Trial. 1. Run to the left crate carriers use Terrablast arrows to knock off the crates. 2. Run back and abandon the trial 3. Pick up trial again 4. do all of that again 5. you can glitch it to keep 4 crates on the ground if you do it fast enough. When the bots reset the Crates on the ground do not, so it makes that portion easier. The way the trials used to work it was possible to use stealth but with AI and a few changes made to the game. It is no longer possible to do most of the stealth trials in the way most 2017 videos show. I added this hear because it took me almost 3 hours to get Blazing suns on all three trials. I had to dig through Reddit to find this trick.
I know this video is a looooooong time ago but I’ve just started playing and god I need to write this comment to thank you. I’ve been stuck at the Dervahl’s Glinhawks mission and been doing it wrong (more like not reading the notes and shooting the wrong weapon the whole time lol) my weapons aren’t as strong as yours but I managed to beat them 😭
i finished the whole game yesterday and im now getting the op impentrable armor and finishing the dlc, if you get the dlc, the machines in it arent in this video, and they are was worse than all these
k4adenn yeah I agree, I’ve finished and on my second play through already but I’m so hesitant to go and explore the Cut / Banuk although the new machine you said was just two, the Scorcher and Fire/ Frostclaw. That was enough to make me back up lol
this also works in new game + on ultra hard, i always run arround while loading 3 fire arrows on the bow, oh and i have fire mods on the bow as well, i use the banuk powershot for damage
N. also use the sonic type arrows( i think theyre called tearblast arrows) and knock all three into ur bow, aim at the scorchers mine launcher and shoot, it knocks off the mine launcher and you can use it against it
Incredibly useful tips. I am playing on Ultra-Hard on my first playthrough and hit a brick wall mid-game around level 28. I can't take down any large machines without burning through all my resources. These tips really help to maximize efficiency. Thank you.
I actually used your method on taking down the corrupted zone with the rockbreakers on ultra hard, and it worked really well! Once I “beached” them, I freeze bombed them and then used a ravager cannon from some killed ravagers across the stream to take one of them down.
I did it on Very Hard and it was a chore. I actually started by shooting at least an arm off one of them, then when they stopped attacking I tied one down while I focused on the other. After getting rid of all the arms (which takes way too many tearblast arrows compared to its standard version), I froze one and hit the weak spot on his rear, then did the same thing with the other one, but took him down using sticky bombs. I'll probably try doing it on Ultra Hard once I start NG+ but I'm afraid I'll get my ass kicked more than 4 times lol.
I'm a bit late onto the horizon scene, I'm about 40 hours in on my first run, althou I have been taking my time, just wanted to say a great video with great delivery, information and humour. It's great for me just learning the ropes. Nice one!!
Just started playing this the other day' Great game.I'm usualy just a p.c gamer but got the daughter a ps4 pro and got this for her.Haha she hasn't had time to play it, as i'm playing it all the time. But this is probably the most informative video iv'e seen so far for this game' good job.Earned a sub aswel' as most videos are just about farming and exploits.
Your tips and advice has not only made me a better player, but increased my enjoyment of this game 100 fold. I’m not afraid of the machines when I come across them! I want to take them on no matter what they are!
Great video dude. Any new horizon vids coming soon? My suggestion would be combat tips such as fighting large groups of different types of enemies (focusing on many enemies at once) and getting through the areas south of meridian where there's loads of stalker/longleg zones etc. Once again, great video. Subbed :)
Awesome video mate. I know its an old video, but adding chapters for each respective monster would be a great help for anyone watching in the future :)
I don't know where Jambomus is from but yeah, his accent is pretty easy to understand and nice to listen to =) JorRaptor on the other hand...sounds like he's always high on helium and cocaine. It makes watching his Horizon Zero Dawn videos annoying to listen to.
This is a most valuable reference and I really appreciate you taking the time to put it out here. As a new player to HZD, this has been a big help in my survival thus far!
I finally started playing the game (ok, i played it 3 years ago but stopped after a short while, but this time, i´m serious xD) and after some frustration with some enemies, I came to this video. Incredible Work, very well done.
i use damage on my main bow, . damage imact works wonders. If you use the blast sling freezeballs, then slap freeze enhancements on the weapin itself. also go for uhard . The weapons are better and better mods.
The most gracious intro of any video I've seen! Good for you, sir, we could use more of that in the world these days, you set a great example for everyone!
This is a really well made and very entertaining video. Like, the commentary during the gameplay sections was so good, I looked at your channel page whether you had a Twitch channel or something.
All very interesting, though as I am personally a rather heavy ambush predator in HZD, you can understand where I would differ. Where you might try one tactical maneuver, I will have gone for something more stealth, leading to a bit of brute force, leading one into a trap, and possibly repeating. Let me break it down... Watcher - In the time it took for you to get those two Watchers' attention, I would have probably lashed out at one of them with the spear and been able to one-on-one the other Watcher, since by then he's alone. Of course, the slide-in to kill the first of three was elegance and I approve. It's more my perview, though, to lure in small robots to my hidey-spot and systematically kill them quickly. Striders and ALL 'Grazing' Robots - Much of my ambush tactics fall under robots that gather in places and have little offensive capability. Any which I can ride, I lure away the one I want and override him quickly. If it's not that kind of machine, I just kill them quickly in the usual fashion. Scrapper - These USE to be a problem for me, in the beginning, but I learned the important tactic of being able to run off to where they could not immediately follow, forcing them to get back to their scavenging, and this is assuming the ambush tactic could not be used. The main problem has always been that Scrappers wander everywhere and will show up at random to pick up...well...scraps. Always keep your eyes open and listen to Aloy when she talks. Longleg - I agree entirely with taking out the frontal sacs of the Longleg, of course. It can't assault you with noise if you do that, and they become far less dangerous, this way, so if you can silence it and take it out early, always do so. Trampler - Always taken out from afar, in my case, usually with the strongest piercing bow and equivalent arrows for getting bits off of and such. Also, just explosives in general or my favorite, the Ice Rail Cannon. Yes, that particular device will feature prominently in my battles. It is utterly worth getting the upgrade for, so you can take out the big-name robots with relative ease. Note, though. I never use rope-casting. Might work for you, but not for me. Also, it's very easy and fun to watch these guys ram each other to bits once you can override them. Sawtooth - Your tactics in general here are fine, of course. The thing to always remember is that Sawtooths cannot do ANYTHING at a distance. They MUST follow you in order to attack. This is why tripwires are always a great move. In my ambushing nonsense, I tend to get alot of these in the paths of my robo-predators. If they can't see you and they're going along their focused path, they walk right into your lines, no question. Shell-Walker - Since these guys are usually walking in convoys and not in one place, mine is always a case of surprise attacks with explosives, getting around or out of their attack/defense range, and generally wearing them out. Might get a COUPLE wire attacks in their longterm path, maybe. Bellowback - It's all about the exploding wires and patience, or the sling bombs and arrows at a distance to get through the sacs. I never assault them close-up unless they are very dying. Too much of a hazard, otherwise. Stalker - The trick to Stalkers is really a case of NEVER stopping unless you're sure he can't get you. He has claws and teeth and a precise weapon. If he can't get out you with them, and his territory is USUALLY alone, you win the vantage point lottery and take him down while remaining untouched. Traps are always good if you have the CHANCE to. Glinthawk - Hate 'em. It's all about that pinpoint arrowing until dead and avoiding the freeze attacks. Corrupter - Never be on the same level as them. Yes, they can jump, but they're not always good at it, and they're slow to realize where an attack is coming from. Always take out their weapons first. The less they can do, the worse off they are. Do not feel bad for taking time if you can, though admittedly your fight with the FIRST Corrupter will be the harders because you will be running in alot of circles to avoice getting hit. Incidentally, don't apologize for wearing good armor. It is practically NECESSARY for the Fireclaw. Ravager - They're not as physically powerful as the Sawtooth, but they ARE menacing, and I generally have at them at a distance anyway, though strangely...when they attacked the Banuk encampment, I found myself doing alot of direct assault, ducking and weaving because they weren't as physically impressive, as I said. Crimes of opportunity, I guess. Snapmaw - I like these too, and I especially like being out of reach or hidden from them as I attack and blow the freeze sacs up. I end up hunting these guys for all the freeze canisters in the world. They have SO MANY! You blast them with fiery weapons, get out of sight, they don't find you, repeat, and score! Rockbreaker - Find the edge of their territory or a big unmoveable piece of landscape, remember everything you learned from watching Tremors, and pick them apart gradually. Now begins the Ice Rail times, for certain. Heavy piercing ice damage. Behemoth - While your best arrow moves and sling attacks certainly work here, I cannot stress enough the sheer satisfaction of what an Ice Rail Cannon's damage is like when you hit those generators. You take so much of it out and so quickly. Try and imagine that Shadow Carja colliseum fight against the Behemoth. You just re-armed, the people are watching and seeing what'll happen, you whip out your mightiest weapon and kill the thing it about two-to-three shots! Thunderjaw - Big trouble. Before I had my heavy ordinance, I would use ONLY tripwires to take it down and run the hell away if it got wind of me. Why? Because it was powerful. When and if I could knock a disc launcher off of it, I used that, of course, but essentially I did things patiently until I got the really strong weapons to disable its parts and make it vulnerable. Thunderjaws are tremendous killers, and both the Corrupted and ESPECIALLY the Daemonic versions are some of the WORST! And never EVER battle two at once! You don't have to ever, so why do it? That spot our youtuber's in can have them dealt with separately if you do it right. Stormbird - Do everything you can to take it by surprise and DON'T stop running if it's got you in its sights. It is extremely dangerous and is rather hard to hide from once it spots you. Arrows can knock bits off of it, but again...if you have access to that heavy-piercing cannon...do it. It is a life-saver. Deathbringers - Surprisingly easy. You see, these are tanks, basically, and they are not fast. They rely entirely on gunpower and they are not fast. You surprise them with your swift actions and fire on them where they are most-vulnerable or to damage their weapons, and you quickly get back into cover. You can do this anywhere you fight them, pretty much. This includes the final fight with the Corrupted Deathbringer. I could've taken out every single one of the Deathbringers the Shadow Carja had in that spot where Sylens is telling you to run. They're only as good as how they're employed, and Deathbringers are not that good alone. They're merely heavy gun support. Sadly, this video ends with corrupted machines (Use lots of fire.) and doesn't hit upon the troubles of The Frozen Wilds weapons, such as all the Daemonic machines, and especially the Frostclaw and Fireclaw. They are among the hardest of all, to my mind. Total beasts. Well, I've been at this an hour and they're not a subject of this video to compare with, so...another time!
Still hoping you come back to this work. You’re a wonderful personality. Please give us an update on what’s going down. Even if it’s a quick blog to tell us what you’re up to in life. We miss you
whenever i find any Machine i would use my Focus see what it is if a strong one i'd open the notebook take a look on his componets and see Which Componet would be worth destroying for example Thunderjaw:Destroy Disc Launcher then pick it up its Strong a few shots would take him down
@@brentlewissaulon4517 I prefer a freeze-ropecast-triple sharpshot to the heart set up. On ultra-hard taking the disc launchers out in a way to use them is really annoying (UH makes most machines annoyingly resistant to tearblast arrows)
@@burmessafox3939 I had the same problem getting used to the way the ropecaster shot. Had me so frustrated early on playing the game that I wouldn't use it. Now, I use it every time I face a storm bird, after finally getting used to using it.
Another method against Stormbirds: They have a high-altitude, near-vertical diving attack onto you. If you put enough explosive wire traps in a spot and cause the bird to attack you with that attack, you can hopefully roll away and it will land on the trap cluster and literally "blow itself into the next county" in a truly spectacular fashion. Any variation of this method also works if you can cause the Stormbird to drop onto the cluster.
Just started a first playthrough of HZD, and this is such a great tutorial! Plus, nice to know I'm not the only one who gets stuck in a rock crevice sometimes! Some of these tips I hadn't tried or thought of, some I have been doing, just in a less effective way (I was using fire arrows on the Glinthawks last as a finisher instead of first to stop them.) This is well presented and really helpful. Thanks for giving spoiler alerts too, I have managed to start playing the game years late and STILL not know how the main story unfolds, which I'm really happy about. Loving this game, and now I can be even more of a badass!
there are a lot of videos to be found here on UA-cam for this game and others...yours really stand out when it comes to this game...I wish you would consider adding similar content for the DLC expansion...I check your reference videos constantly and I'm even enjoying watching your play-through vids just to see how you did it...I'm more of a completionist, but I do like to see how you handled areas I struggled with
Commend+ for the effort. I rather watch this long video than those short “tips and tricks” that doesn’t really help. 10/10 for the detailed summary of every machine.
This is the best video ever. I'm playing through Zero Dawn with Forbidden West waiting on my shelf and I keep getting wrecker by the two Sawtooths in Devils Thirst.
Really good vid, but the tactics really change with the difficulty of the game and the gear you have. This video demonstrates kills while using top gear (before DLC). Top gear just has too much damage. In my game some machines still have more than 40% of HP even after I destroyed all components.
This is a very informative video. Thank you very much. I have 100+ hours into the game and I didn't know some of these tricks. I would like to add a tip: When fighting stalkers, shock bombs from your sling are very effective. A bomb or two will shock it so you can follow with a critical hit or whatever you like.

Glad you found that useful! Thanks.

5yrs later you are helping a new horizon player , ty :)
when i first started playing I was scared of engaging with watchers and striders. I thought scrappers were boss battles and the initial sawtooth was very very very stressful for me and I was the biggest noob. after playing a month im a pro. time to become an expert pro! ty for video information :))
I killed 2 Sawtooths without hesitation and it was my first time playing lol, but I hesitate a little bit at Thunderjaws

So when I discovered lure call, they were so much easier to take down
BurmessaFox lol HZD was my first adventure game too. It was also my first ps4 game
Or just wear shield weaver you literally have a shield that regenerates making you practically invincible
Never felt so appreciated from a youtuber just by saying „thanks alot for clicking on this video“ in the intro
Fair warning, he makes it look easy, IT'S NOT THAT EASY
A Person! Practice makes perfect. It won't be easy right off the bat. But he gives tips to make it more easier than it would be if you were to play the game casually. How bro
@Housein Al Haddad ah, you do have a point
For anyone wondering, i dont think the difficulty matters but after you kill some enemies using the canisters the "game" will learn and start making machines with protections for their canisters which is impressive and this explains why at the start of the game these same machines dont have the protections yet. The details!
Wow, this video is brilliant. Changed my whole approach when dealing with the Zoids! Gave me a lot more confidence to take on machines I've been avoiding.
Big thanks for the hard work! You just got an extra sub! Will be passing this video on to my buddies.
Did somebody mention zoids? (Sawtooths are just baby Blade Ligers without the side-mounted energy blades)
You're my Rost. Real nice video- thx for sharing.

Goodbye the dialogue is SUPER corny bro😂
7:40 you can get even more blaze by shooting the remaining canisters on the dead grazers with harvest arrows. this way you get roughly 6 times the amount of blaze. just dont loot them before.
I silent strike them then hit the blaze cannisters with harvest arrows once they're dead.

I know I'm three years late, but, having just gotten this game, this video is super helpful for showing me several good tactics to use. Since I'm doing an ultra hard playthrough knowing nothing about the game, I really needed some tips on machines I struggle against.

Welcome, brothers!
Ah yes.
Not only was this wildly helpful, but crazily entertaining! I agree about first seeing the long legs, keep up the great work!
I know this is 4 years old but I just started playing HZD and this is a game changer. Thanks!

Really cool to hear this. Thanks so much.
God bless

Just pure education, interesting opinions and valuable advice - thanks mate!
ps. UK also, boshtie!
I like the channel and the HZD exclusivity. Subscribed with the hope of new videos on Forbidden West early next year.
I just picked up HZD and this video has been EXTREMELY helpful!!! Thank you so much for the advice.
Playing on ultra hard definitely makes a big difference in difficulty...
Dude, it's so much harder. I started a new game and basically all attacks under level 30 are a one hit kill. Craycray
@@thert4982 Bruh do you wanna know a kamikaze weapon in the game(with frozen wilds dlc)
ITS THE FUCKING UPGRADED STORMSLINGER SHOOT THAT WEAPON FOR MORE THAN 3-5 SETS AND PURPLE LIGHTNING COMES OUT KILLING EVERYTHING IN THE AREA
Yes thats whats fun to play though
Frostclaws on Ultra Hard are the most difficult enemies imo. I had to figure out that you could roll underneath them to avoid attacks lol even with Shield Weaver you don't get much of a chance.
This video is so good in so many ways that I don't know where to start. Jambomus makes it look real easy, but I have been struggling with the game, although taking the time to get the ancient armor has helped immensely. Takeaways for me are: freeze a lot more and use the multiple arrow skill. And keep plenty of blaze in my inventory for fire arrows (and a flamethrower acquired during the Stone Yield bandit raid)
An excellent piece of work that can benefit players at all levels. Thanks!

It is going to help me a lot.
same here only difference is i am proficient with a controller
@@mystik4957 At 73 my reaction has slowed down quite a bit so I play a lot of PC games on 'easy' or 'story'. I am not in a competition with myself so it doesn't matter. I do it for the story and enjoyment. That said, I use a lot of mods in my games.
Have fun! It’s a wonderful game!
i’ve watched this video multiple times, it’s really comforting for some reason lol. thanks xx
i watched the full hour in one go (SO worth it!! you're brilliant!) please tell me you'll be doing one for the scorcher and daemonic machines from frozen wilds? i literally almost die every time i come across a daemonic scorcher they're AWFUL (not as in bad machine but like awful for me to kill i guess) pleaaaase?
I'll see if I can fit in my busy schedule for yah! Thanks for the nice comment.
omg thank you! you're awesome!!
Then and only then will I face it head on
Same
Well if anyone is reading this with the PC version, Scorchers are a bit harder than they were.
Also, anyone on PC if you do the Stealth Trials,
the Sleight of Crate Trial.
1. Run to the left crate carriers use Terrablast arrows to knock off the crates.
2. Run back and abandon the trial
3. Pick up trial again
4. do all of that again
5. you can glitch it to keep 4 crates on the ground if you do it fast enough.
Four years later and your excellent work here still helping with the PC version so thank you 😀
I know this video is a looooooong time ago but I’ve just started playing and god I need to write this comment to thank you.
Load 3 fire arrows on your bow, shoot them and just wait. the fire damage will kill the glinthawks easily
this also works in new game + on ultra hard, i always run arround while loading 3 fire arrows on the bow, oh and i have fire mods on the bow as well, i use the banuk powershot for damage
N. also use the sonic type arrows( i think theyre called tearblast arrows) and knock all three into ur bow, aim at the scorchers mine launcher and shoot, it knocks off the mine launcher and you can use it against it
I watched the full video in one go and I don't regret anything! Your video is great and you should keep the work up! Really enjoyed watching it :)
Hunter reflexes was my first perk. It's really underrated and is practically a better concentration
Agreed.
It is really good but concentration can make it easier to snipe enemies due to the zoom
Nice one!!

I just love the accent. Thanks for the tips.
I don't know where Jambomus is from but yeah, his accent is pretty easy to understand and nice to listen to =)

Great video! Loads of tips! What mods are recommended for the bow & sling? I'm sure everyone has their own likes/dislikes...
i use damage on my main bow, . damage imact works wonders. If you use the blast sling freezeballs, then slap freeze enhancements on the weapin itself. also go for uhard . The weapons are better and better mods.
The most gracious intro of any video I've seen! Good for you, sir, we could use more of that in the world these days, you set a great example for everyone!
Video tutorials like this make me feel like a god in horizon zero dawn.
I just got the game on PC. I wanted to thank you for the sheer amount of work that went into this video. Greatly appreciated and good job. Subed.
Everything changes when you pick the Ultra Hard difficulty .
Yeah.
*when the Fire Nation attacked*
This guy has a particular set of skills making him a nightmare for machine creatures.
Still hoping you come back to this work. You’re a wonderful personality. Please give us an update on what’s going down. Even if it’s a quick blog to tell us what you’re up to in life. We miss you
whenever i find any Machine i would use my Focus see what it is if a strong one i'd open the notebook take a look on his componets and see Which Componet would be worth destroying for example Thunderjaw:Destroy Disc Launcher then pick it up its Strong a few shots would take him down
That's the strategy I always use against them like I kill them in less that 30 secs
@@brentlewissaulon4517 I prefer a freeze-ropecast-triple sharpshot to the heart set up. On ultra-hard taking the disc launchers out in a way to use them is really annoying (UH makes most machines annoyingly resistant to tearblast arrows)
@Shasvin Puvanesvaran Yep. Too good at close quarters.
Every time I aim,I find them lunging at me with the force of a small train.
Thanks for including time stamps in your description. Good video.
19:38 " oh lovely" 😂😂💀
Reminded me of Gordon Ramsay.
And here we go, you got yourself a new subscriber! That’s the quality content I was looking for, thanks mate
The storm bird is REALLY easy if you use the ropecaster
Sames. I ropecast, hit the freeze core, then slo mo sticky bomb. Esp good if you hit the chest component that shoots lightning.
I would recommend using tearblast arrows on its chest conponent that way its easier
My problem is I suck at shooting and I keep forgetting the ropecaster shoots as soon as you press r2
That's how I overrided it and we were so strong together.
@@burmessafox3939 I had the same problem getting used to the way the ropecaster shot. Had me so frustrated early on playing the game that I wouldn't use it. Now, I use it every time I face a storm bird, after finally getting used to using it.
Thanks for the tutorial I'm just getting into the game now. Excellent 👍
I just started playing this game last week and watching this video I learned a lot. Thank you for taking the time to make this video
4:50 it's because you have additional stealth with your outfit weaves
Just started a first playthrough of HZD, and this is such a great tutorial! Plus, nice to know I'm not the only one who gets stuck in a rock crevice sometimes! Some of these tips I hadn't tried or thought of, some I have been doing, just in a less effective way (I was using fire arrows on the Glinthawks last as a finisher instead of first to stop them.) This is well presented and really helpful. Thanks for giving spoiler alerts too, I have managed to start playing the game years late and STILL not know how the main story unfolds, which I'm really happy about. Loving this game, and now I can be even more of a badass!
someone should make a drinking game every time he says ehh, umm, ahhem
Hahaha I was thinking the same
Or just edit them all together
Oh fuck you, now I can't unhear it. I'm in stitches over here :D
there are a lot of videos to be found here on UA-cam for this game and others...yours really stand out when it comes to this game...I wish you would consider adding similar content for the DLC expansion...I check your reference videos constantly and I'm even enjoying watching your play-through vids just to see how you did it...I'm more of a completionist, but I do like to see how you handled areas I struggled with
The stalkers were very hard but really cool to fight against
respect the hustle to come up with such content! Way to go Jam
You are a flipping legend
Commend+ for the effort. I rather watch this long video than those short “tips and tricks” that doesn’t really help. 10/10 for the detailed summary of every machine.
When dad says just one more video...
Me: Sure ;)
