For those who may not understand why many vegan recipes replicate their non-vegan counterparts: a lot vegans do not grow up on a plant-based diet (besides the fact that various cultures and systems of belief advocate a vegan lifestyle, thus many are vegan from the littlest age). Many still have fond memories of recipes their parents/grand-parents used to make that contained meat and/or dairy (e.g. pulled pork sandwiches, mac and cheese, lasagna alla Bolognese, etc). The idea is to replicate that same feeling of comfort and tastiness without the meat; as a cook, I can tell you that the most important part of (for example) Bolognese sauce is not the meat, but the seasoning, the spices, the tomatos, carrots and celeri. If you keep these and toss the meat you'll still get an aromatic, richly flavoured sauce.
As an Italian, I can tell you that the taste of Lasagna is given by cooking the meat during hours. Meat gives that special taste. And to reply to another comment, yes the sauce contains carrots and celery, as well.

Highly recommend the first cheese recipe! It's easy to make, inexpensive and can go with anything (from mac and cheese, to lasagna, to potato bake!), I do suggest though that you use way more yeast flakes than recommended and don't add cashews.
FYI, ripe yellow jackfruit is for dessert, or to eat on its own, and you cook the white unripe ones (at least that's how people in Indonesia do it). Why on earth did you cook the yellow jackfruit and discard the white ones???
Everyone needs to think before they comment about how "gross" veganism is. For you omnivores out there, you are consuming cooked flesh that was once active and sensitive to pain. Consider that and consider the reason why. The taste? The social acceptance? Certainly not the ethics involved... just be mindful of that before you go around hating on a lifestyle choice that involves minimal environment and ethical ramifications. AND plants do not have central nervous systems so they can't feel pain, just a reminder to anyone trying to rebut my argument. Vegan food is delicious when it isn't analyzed for its imperfections. It's good, wholesome, delicious food. Lord, do I want a bowl of that mac and cheese!

I am extremely lactose intolerant so any recipe with the dairy substitute is great for me to try
The song reminds me of Clocks by Coldplay haha
Highly recommend the first cheese recipe! It's easy to make, inexpensive and can go with anything (from mac and cheese, to lasagna, to potato bake!), I do suggest though that you use way more yeast flakes than recommended and don't add cashews.
FYI, ripe yellow jackfruit is for dessert, or to eat on its own, and you cook the white unripe ones (at least that's how people in Indonesia do it). Why on earth did you cook the yellow jackfruit and discard the white ones???
Ratri Wulandari i saw the video again and... Oh Gosh
The vegan shepards pie looks amazing! Will be trying this weekend!
Lord, do I want a bowl of that mac and cheese!
food is food
Going vegan wont stop people fron killing animals. And btw if you eat fresh meat its super heathly for you.
meat tastes good lmao
