I always remember seeing the first one and knowing instinctively that it was a parody of Steps. Possibly a parody of "Heartbeat". It is definitely Steps though because Sally Phillips' hair in it is directly referencing Faye Tozer's hair at the time. The more you know.
I always thought it was inspired by Stereolab, especially the part at 3:16 and some of the styling. But yeah, that Velocette track does sound pretty similar. Napkin rule, very absorbing music :D

I never watched the show first time round. Discovering it on satellite! These songs are well written and produced.
The first one also looks like the same location of the video shoot for Spice Girls' Stop music video.
The original version's ''Torn'' by Natalie Imbruglia. This version isn't available on anything except DVD.
I can't listen to that song without thknking of Fiona Allen.
I love this song
Can any brave souls name the bands and songs being parodied? Only one I KNOW Natalie Imbruglia - Torn (04:04)
They get better as the years go by - and in their own right not as specific parodies. They send up perennial attitudes with good tunes and visuals.
Brilliant!
Anyone know who wrote these songs? They're ace.
What song do we thing they are doing at 6:35? Sounds a bit like Travis but I'm certain it is something else that is alike
Were they spoofing S Club 7 on the first one? I liked Darren Boyd's sunglasses!
Steps more so
I'm pretty sure it's a Take That parody of the song "Pray".
i thought that
what the name of the 3rd girl with the diamond on her forehead in the NAPKIN song? is the last one suppose to be spoof of crowded house?
60sto80s2 Velocette Four Fold Remedy Spoiled Children
It's Amanda Holden.
The second one sounds just like "Spoiled Children" by Velocette
