I saw the movie and I love it. Everyone in the theater was so excited, it's truly an experience. I'm going to see it a few more times before it leave theater.

I cried when the *attackers put a noose around Viola's neck, poured an unknown substance, likely bleach, on her and used their hands, feet and teeth as weapons to assault her* and yelled, _"This is MAGA country,"_

Look up the history of the Kingdom of Dahomey, massive slavers and massive human sacrificers. Sickening

Dahomey kingdom should not celebrated, there fought to keep slavery. What the hell guys? This tribe practice, slavery and fought the French to keep slavery. This gross misrepresention of the truth. As an African this is sickening to see, do we celebrate Hitler?

European movies should not be celebrated. Europeans fighting the Dahomey to end slavery is a gross misrepresentation of the truth. Europeans went to Africa to kill , steal and destroy. after the Dahomeys were defeated and Europe colonized Africa million of people were killed, resources were stolen and people were displaced. if you were actually an African you would know this.

The Dahomey were crushed by the French because they kept doing slave raids decades after the Brits and French tried to end the slave trade in West. A trade that America kept alive.

So they are promoting a movie about a tribe that fought to keep slavery? Bc the Dahomey loved slavery……..

@@amenajackson8133 Chile I'm tired of them they don't even think about it before they speak .for decades they've been celebrating white people movies that did the same things and worse but have a problem with this...

The growth of Dahomey coincided with the growth of the Atlantic slave trade, and it became known to Europeans as a major supplier of slaves.[2] As a highly militaristic kingdom constantly organised for warfare, it captured children, women, and men during wars and raids against neighboring societies, and sold them into the Atlantic slave trade in exchange for European goods such as rifles, gunpowder, fabrics, cowrie shells, tobacco, pipes, and alcohol.[5][6] Other remaining captives became slaves in Dahomey, where they worked on royal plantations and were routinely mass executed in large-scale human sacrifices during the festival celebrations known as the Annual Customs of Dahomey.[

You all keep reposting this as if the movie doesn’t address this. It’s a central part of the storyline.

In 1876 a French geographer named, Élisée Reclus also , wrote about the Kingdom of Juda in his book called, “The Earth and Its Inhabitants.”
He wrote: “Known to Europeans by various names of Fida, Heredah, Whydah, Wida. The old writers called it Juda, and it’s inhabitants were said to be Jews.”

"The slave trade has been the ruling principle of my people. It is the source of their glory and wealth. Their songs celebrate their victories and the mother lulls the child to sleep with notes of triumph over an enemy reduced to slavery." - King Ghezo of Dahomey
