Rannerdale knotts is certainly a fantastic place dave might be a small un but it makes up in fantastic views,be better in winter when its quieter...i'd have done same thing though i prefer the higher summits.i need to bag whiteless pike yet & whiteside on the other side,done all the rest up here camping & hiking etc.wandope further along that ridge is a superb summit it's one ill camp on when i do whiteless pike i think..duomid is looking good i may be joining the club 😉 tfs mate.

Nice one. Bit rain never killed anyone 😖 typical lakes weather. If you had carried on from whiteless along the path you come to wandope. An excellent pitch up there. Big flat plateau overlooking the valley. I had an excellent camp up there a while back. Went the same way you did. That climb to whiteless is a beast. Enjoyed that. Atb mate 👍
The Duomid looked well perched up there Dave , the wet season has arrived but I think we need to get out in all weathers and enjoy whatever the elements throw at us . The morning really looked atmospheric with the low cloud and gloom . atb Dave

Definitely enjoyed this. Buttermere is high on my bucket list. Plan is for my wife to overnight at The Bridge hotel whilst I camp up high somewhere! Next trip to the UK (post COVID)
@@skyblue-df2od I’ve yet to stay. But, when asked about his favorite place to stay in the Lakes District, a UK travel guide said Bridge Hotel is it. It’s a little more out of the way than Windermere or Keswick thus it’s appeal to me! Cheers!

Sometimes it is good to have the odd lower down camp and can still get some amazing views 😁 Looks like you had to change your mind a few times on the fly with this one but id have probably been the same, especially seeing the possibility of the other campers haha. Looks like it was so worth it though had some awesome views. Love the tent too 👌🏻👌🏻 im looking at a trecking pole tent at the moment, the Pretents Soloist if you know it? Brilliant Dave. The flextailgear pump is definitely a popular addition to many people’s setups recently. I love mine. Makes life so much easier. Really enjoyed the film and great to see one of the lesser-known peaks on film.
Haha the pump made me laugh. I purchased exactly the same model last week and had the same dilemma. I felt like I was cheating😂. I used it on Sunday night for the first time and I’m not ashamed to say it’s brilliant, especially with the built in light. Anyway, another fantastic video. Cheers 👍

Dave, I have to say, pumps to blow your mat up is definitely roughing it smoothly! I had a good camp on Wansfell pike last Wednesday night. Bright starlit early evening followed by high winds and rain with a very soggy rapid decamp in a gale early the next day 😳 Maybe you could contract some of us subscribers to be your Sherpas? Just a thought 🤣 Ps if you get a picture leak in your BeFree, I used a Park patch to seal it. They work. They’re meant to fix a bike puncture and are self adhesive, the size of a postage stamp.

You were pointing to the Helvellyn range and not the skiddaw range and you got high crag/high stile the wrong way round (sorry for being pedantic 🤣) still a good camp. Red Pike you were pointing to is a nice camp, its a while since I wildcamped on the fells. This video makes me want to do it again, nothing better than waking up to a cloud inversion. Nothing worse than waking up to rain. 😒
Lovely looking tent and the weight is half of my current one! Can anyone shed some light on what make / model it is? Also what the condensation is like as I know those lightweight ones sometimes suffer. Brilliant video!

Hi Craig - I’m using an Osprey Atmos 50 here. It’s a great rucksack, really comfortable. I also have the 65l version. The problem is, the more room you have to more stuff you put in. Then you’ve got to carry it all 😳. Hope this helps. ATB Dave

The wild country Helm 1 is a good reasonably priced tent. My pump is a Flextail Mini pump 👍
