  • This super easy golf swing breaks all the rules of golf instruction. Funny enough, these are the things you need to do to play great golf. This video takes a deep look into Matt Fitzpatrick's swing and why copying his moves gets you playing great golf.
    Have you ever considered swinging the opposite of what you've been taught? Imagine for years that you've learned the wrong way to swing the club. Or, think if you've been wasting your time working on the wrong things...What if there was another way? A way you never considered before. Then it turned out that this way is one of the best and easiest ways to swing a golf club.
    That's what I felt after a decade of swinging with traditional golf tips. I tried every tip in the book BUT I never considered doing the opposite. My game dramatically improved when I started doing the opposite of traditional golf instruction.

    This is how golf used to be taught, thank you for teaching natural body movements. Sam Snead, Mickey Wright both had straight back legs two of the best. Same as Hogan

      I'm very glad to know that my instruction content is resonating with your, Tyler, and I sincerely appreciate your validating remarks!
      This body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance swing system is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and it is modeled on empirical observations of the game's greatest ball strikers. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world. Watch any Tour event on TV and you'll see a significant number of players executing these motions, a fact corroborated by just how many of them have a very centered swing with the lead knee flexing and the trail leg straightening during the backswing, their lead arms on or very close to their tilted shoulder planes, and their hands deep behind their trail shoulder at the top.
      Thousands of folks across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result of learning this swing system through my online school, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. Compare and contrast that with the sad reality that despite all the advances in equipment, technology, golf course grooming, etc. the average golfer still struggles to break 100. Epic failures within the realm of “conventional” instruction, perhaps??? So many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings - such as taking the club straight back, turning the shoulders level while independently lifting the arms, shifting into and torquing against a firm trail side, firing the hips, actively rolling the hands through impact, etc. - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of inconsistency and chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well).
      Thanks again for your message!

    Hey Tom. Just a suggestion. You should use a ball tracer line to show your shot path when you're swinging. It's just a nice extra touch that you see on other golf videos. I like seeing the line that follows the ball path. I'm sure other do. I don't know how hard that would be or the software needed. But I'd love a ball path line following your shots :)

    Tom - I returned to the inside takeaway after your last video and the results were astonishing. One other note about Matt's swing is his setup . . . his lead arm and club are straight . . there is no angle - very similar to Moe Norman. Also, taking the club back to the slot is a description of the one plane swing (another Moe concept). Thanks for your instruction - it's the most practical advice and works for me.

    Solid video! I have been practicing more of the inside takeaway, reason being it helps me keep my right elbow checked in the right position. Once I start separating my right elbow, it's been very difficult and inconsistent to properly shallow the club in the correct path

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому

      YES! It most definitely facilitates the proper trail arm action, and there's no need to try to precisely "drop it in the slot" each and every swing if we've already put it in the slot to begin with.
      Excellent job figuring that out and incorporating the inside takeaway into your swing.

    This is spot on Tom. Not only has letting my trail leg straighten alleviated lower back issues and allowed for a bigger turn, it really helps me keep my weight centered during the back swing, making it much easier to get it moving forward during the downswing, resulting in consistent ball first contact.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому +1

      YES - you've nailed it!! And I love that you said you're "letting" your trail leg straight rather than forcing it, because that is key. The flexing of the lead leg and straightening of the trail leg occurs gradually and in response to the increasing forward weight load and the centered tilting, turning, and extending components of the motion. They are not contrived actions unto themselves. We're simply allowing them to be reactive, thereby freeing up the hips and shoulders to execute an unrestricted full turn.
      Thanks so much for sharing your body-friendly ball striking improvement and keep up the fantastic work!! 💪💪

    Jon rahm brings it inside too, i think the key is not overdoing it and fanning it open...i come massively over the top taking it straight back, i make almost no turn its all.arm lift...taking slightly inside feels more like a circle

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  4 місяці тому

      Absolutely, John. The swing is indeed a tilted circle (or arc, if we wish to get technical), the circumference of which extends from the ball to above and behind our shoulders. As such, if we are going to remain on that circle/arc it requires the hands and club to take a slightly inward path - not a disconnected handsy snatch or roll to the inside - just a natural tracing of the outer rim or circumference. The feeling of "straight back" can easily pull the golfer off of that preestablished geometry right from the start, and from there precise compensatory actions are necessary if there is any hope of returning the clubface to the ball on the proper path time after time.
      Here are some lessons related to this:
      - ua-cam.com/video/LgYdC-g8DAY/v-deo.html
      - ua-cam.com/video/1gzcyrJ_yBw/v-deo.html
      - ua-cam.com/video/WxDD63quyk8/v-deo.html
      - ua-cam.com/video/ylVWSenTtOw/v-deo.html
      We create depth in this swing, and that enables us to fully engage the shoulders and harness the power of swinging on a circle through a seemingly effortless force known as "angular momentum".
      Keep up the great work!

    Thank you for this video. I just started golfing 3 months ago and my shots I take when I go inside feel so much more comfortable and give me consistent ball striking. Not to mention the balls go farther and it feels way different when I make contact. Every person I play with tells me to not. But my shots feel way better. I also have a hard time not straightening my trail leg. Problem is keeping my butt on a level plane. It tends to raise it 😊

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  4 місяці тому

      My pleasure - I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you!
      As for that trail leg, the lead knee flexes as the trail knee straightens during the backswing. This occurs gradually and in response to a properly centered swing motion. They are not contrived actions unto themselves. We're simply allowing them to be reactive, thereby freeing up the hips and shoulders to execute an unrestricted turn. Also, I wouldn't try to force your butt to stay on a level plane. The straightening of your trail leg is going to elevate the trail hip, and this angled orientation of the hips is what helps our shoulders to turn on their tilted axis, and this retains our relationship with the ball - a very important key to consistency.
      As for what others may tell you, unless they are a certified professional golf instructor or at the very least an exceptional player, then I wouldn't give it much credence as erroneous notions and misinformation abound in this realm. This body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance swing system I teach is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and it is modeled on empirical observations of the game's most prolific ball strikers. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world. Watch any Tour event on TV and you'll see a significant number of players - not just Matt Fitzpatrick - executing these motions, a fact corroborated by just how many of them have a very centered swing with the lead knee flexing and the trail leg straightening during the backswing, their lead arms on or very close to their tilted shoulder planes, and their hands deep behind their trail shoulder at the top.
      Welcome to this greatest of games. Embrace the challenge that is golf, and most importantly - have a blast out there!!

      The answer to those occasional hooks lies in ball flight laws. Clubface angle relative to target line is the primary influencer of the ball's starting line and face relative to path determines direction and degree of curvature. From there you can then do some reverse engineering to identify and neutralize the cause of a sideways shot.

    I like this inside takeway series Tom. If I try to go steeper up, I have difficulty shallowing to the right level because it's technically a bigger drop, and as a result stay up too high and go over the top. Your theory totally makes sense to me. I rather start shallow so I just have to make a mini movement down to keep the swing path going in to out. Not too sure if your claims on distance will also hold. I don't mind too much, I like predictability more than distance.

    • @SagutoGolf

      Yes - as I've told others we don't need to precariously try to "drop it in the slot" the precise amount each and every swing if we've already put it there to begin with, right?! As for power, by bringing the hands in deep we are then able to tap into the tremendous force known as "angular momentum", where physics and geometry collide. For me personally, my yardages increased dramatically throughout my entire bag. And here's a validating comment on this video from another UA-cam viewer: _"I can attest that taking the club straight back (lift and shift) caused massive slices and short distances in my swing. Now that I take the club in (on plane) I hit my first drive over three hundred yards for the first time about two years ago. To be clear I don't hit every drive 300 plus, but it is so much better now."_

      The lead knee flexes as the trail knee straightens during the backswing, both in their outwardly flared orientation that we preset at address. The flexing/straightening occurs gradually and in response to the increasing forward weight load and the centered tilting, turning, and extending components of the motion. They are not contrived actions unto themselves. We're simply allowing them to be reactive, thereby freeing up the hips and shoulders to execute an unrestricted turn.

    Like your video Tom, I notice with an inside back swing and you're in position at the top. most players start the down swing with their arms. Watching the pro start down they use their lower body to start down, just drops the club in the slot me I use to start from the top it just creates so much trouble for me.

      Yes - it's so important to feel that transition - or the change in direction - so we don't rush our downswing from the top and thereby lose our sequencing (a very common affliction within the amateur golfing realm). Our perfect tempo - which is unique to each of us individually - enables us to gather and unload the various components in proper order for seemingly effortless, powerful ball striking bliss, and it is well worth our time to get that ideal rhythm dialed in.
      Keep up the great work!

    over the past year or so i have been looking at the step up. and, i do think that fitzpatrick has the best step up in the game. i have concluded that it is much better to hold the club with the left hand in the step up, whilst keeping your eye on the ball. in power golfer hogan threads a club over the pocket of his right elbow and under his left elbow; and, tells us that the right elbow should be "below" the left below, at address. and, the trick is to hold the handle of the club up, with your left hand, when you take your grip, to enable your right elbow to position itself below your left elbow.

      Yes - that is something that Stack & Tilt co-founder (and Golf Digest #14 teacher in the US) Andy Plummer did with me during a lesson I had with him a couple of years ago. I would address the ball and he would then insert the butt end of a club under my lead elbow and above my trail elbow "pocket" to ensure that I had that proper relationship at setup.

    Interesting stuff Tom. What are thoughts on the impact (if any) Fitzpatrick's grip has on these moves. Does his strong grip/cupped left wrist help these moves or does the grip have no bearing on one's ability to copy them?

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому +3

      Matt retains that cupping in his lead wrist in order to keep the clubface square. My personal preference tends towards a more neutral attachment so that no such compensations are necessary, and this is supportive of our stock push-draw ball flight. However, this is not an "absolute", and as long as one remains keenly aware of the ball flight and impact tendencies that can creep in if a strong grip is not diligently managed, then quite obviously good golf can be played.
      Having said that, I am not supportive of a strong grip being deployed as an anti-slice band-aid because it is precisely that: a patch designed to mask a deficiency or flaw somewhere upstream in the swing motion. In such situations I much prefer to identify and address the root cause, thereby building a solid swing that is not dependent on an unreliable "crutch".

    I’ve had issues with opening the club face with swing on the inside. What has helped is Peter Cowins drill of opposing forces when gripping the club

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому +1

      The swing is a tilted circle (or arc, if we wish to get technical), the circumference of which extends from the ball to above and behind our shoulders. As such, if we are going to remain on that circle/arc it requires the hands and club to take a slightly inward path - *_not a disconnected handsy snatch or roll to the inside_* - just a natural tracing of the outer rim or circumference. The feeling of "straight back" can easily pull the golfer off of that preestablished geometry right from the start, and from there precise compensatory actions are necessary if there is any hope of returning the clubface to the ball on the proper path time after time.
      Here are some lessons related to this:

      We create depth in this swing, and that enables us to fully engage the shoulders and harness the power of swinging on a circle through a seemingly effortless force known as "angular momentum".

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому

      LOL!!
      But here's the thing: This is not a "flat" swing. If we keep ourselves centered and allow the lead shoulder to work downward (the "tilt" component), then the arms will naturally elevate without the need for any independent lifting action. This will prevent the club from getting "stuck" too far behind us - as can happen with a shoulder turn that is too flat and/or if we snatch or roll the club to the inside with the hands - and instead we will have the lead arm in a great position to transition into the optimal downswing path (which, by the way, is the exact same path we would be trying to somehow consistently manufacture if we were going to "drop it in the slot" with a two-plane "shift & lift" motion).

    CRAZY! His club DOES go over the top, but since he started with it so deep, his over the top gets the shaft nearly vertical and his downswing looks straight down and through the ball. The club face never goes outside his hands... as for #2, yeah, building all that pressure in my trail leg gave me terrible back pain every time I played. Now, I allow it to straighten and let my lead leg bend and it's not only easier on my body, but also adds a lot of turn with less effort.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому

      Yes, but it's only going over the top of his deep inside backswing plane and is certainly by no means "steep" as you astutely noted.
      As for #2, that's fantastic! Consider that despite all the advances in equipment, technology, golf course grooming, etc. the average golfer still struggles to break 100. • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому +1

      I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you, Jacky!!
      The swing is an orchestration in which we load up the various "power accumulators" and then unleash them in proper sequential fashion. There is no one particular point in the downswing where this all happens simultaneously. If we pre-establish the connections properly in the setup and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct actions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. Those power accumulators - including the proper arm, wrist, and hand action - will then naturally load and fire with no contrived manipulations or precise timing necessary, thereby returning the face to the position pre-established at address. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power. Here are a few lessons on this topic:

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому

      Hi Lewis,
      I'm glad to know that you are enjoying my content!
      There is no correlation between the correct execution of this motion and hooking. That is because regardless of whether a golfer independently lifts the clubs with the hands/arms and then "drops it in the slot" - which I do not advocate - or sets the club in the slot during the backswing as demonstrated here - the ideally shallowed downswing path is identical. Where some go wrong is in snatching the club inside with the hands and/or losing their relationship with the ball (the Tilt component). In either of those scenarios a hook can be a potential outcome.
      Beyond that, there are just too many other potential variables and unknowns for me to make an accurate diagnosis regarding your hook tendencies. For example, if your path was previously too steep and you were making compensations to prevent the ball from slicing off the planet - perhaps a very strong grip or setting up with a closed face - then those compensations could certainly result in a hook if you have successfully corrected your path. Other things to consider are your ball position is too far forward, your hands are too far back, your weight is not forward enough at impact, more..... See what I mean? Too many possibilities.
      While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option for you would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews

      Since certain elements that you have incorporated are apparently performing well for you, Luke, my best suggestion is that you learn this method correctly and incrementally from the very beginning in the online school. It will take you through the entire swing - step by step, position by position - beginning with the hugely important proper setup (which does differ from the "shift, restrict, and lift" style setup). It is highly likely that you are missing some key components. The school is only $14.99/month or $149.99/year.
      If you are unwilling to do this, then I recommend you swing in a way that does not cause you pain. As mentioned in my previous reply, what I teach is a very body-friendly motion and there are countless testimonials validating this fact.

    Anyway you can talk about skying the driver
    All your tips help but that is the one thing I struggle most with

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому

      It is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: ua-cam.com/video/o0xscMyN3v8/v-deo.html Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content.
      Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the driver it can be attributed to one of the following:
      1) Their hips are not continuing their lateral slide through impact. This is common with the driver as the wider stance means that the hips have a greater distance to travel. If the hips stop moving laterally towards the target on the downswing then their rotation takes over, inhibiting any further necessary forward weight loading (we should be 80/20 forward halfway down, 90/10 at impact, and 95/5 in the finish), changing the low point and rerouting the club into a steeper angle of attack (AoA). This can produce a variety of undesirable results including fat and thin contact, topped shots and popups, straight pulls, and “banana” slices.
      Of great importance is keeping your upper torso/head in place (in other words, not moving towards the target from a face-on view) while the hips execute the lateral slide action. This preserves the swing center and the desired shallow AoA.
      2) They are not allowing the length of the club to dictate the backswing path and are getting too steep as a result. The shaft of the driver is considerably longer than the other clubs and thus requires more of an around the body backswing as established by the shaft plane at address. It may "feel" flat as they take it back along the shaft plane for the first few feet, but as long as they maintain the "weight forward, shoulder down, and hands in" components while allowing the club to work around them, it should put them in the proper position at the top so they can attack the ball from the inside. (A good feel for that lead shoulder is "down and in, under the chin".)
      3) Many believe - and some even teach - that we must try to "hit up on the ball" with the driver. However, consider that in our stock setup with the driver the hands are even with the inside of the lead thigh (as they are with all clubs when playing a standard shot) and our ball position is even with the inside of the heel of the lead foot. This presets a very slight degree of forward shaft lean with the driver. Beyond that, the ball is behind the zero-point of the swing (which is even with the lead shoulder), meaning that without any contrived manipulations the club will still be on its descent - albeit very close to flat - at impact. So, perhaps with the exception of folks with slower swing speeds - or those Long Drive participants teeing it extra high and hitting maybe 1-2 balls out of 10 onto a 60-yard wide "fairway" - in general the path is still ever so slightly down. In fact, the PGA Tour average with the driver is actually minus (e.g.: downward) 1.5 degrees - nearly level - and it should feel level - but slightly down nonetheless. (Here is an article on Ping’s website addressing this topic - ping.com/en-us/blogs/proving-grounds/optimal-launch-and-spin#:~:text=According%20to%20Trackman%2C%20PGA%20Tour,85%25%20ball%2Dflight%20laws )

Compare and contrast that with the sad reality that despite all the advances in equipment, technology, golf course grooming, etc. the average golfer still struggles to break 100. Epic failures within the realm of “conventional” instruction, perhaps??? So many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings - such as taking the club straight back, turning the shoulders level while independently lifting the arms, shifting into and torquing against a firm trail side, actively rolling the hands through impact, etc. - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of inconsistency and chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well).

    Hey Tom. What about height? Fitzpatrick is not a big guy. I'm 6'2" 265 lbs. I thought that taller/big guys tend to swing more STEEPLY and shorter guys tend to swing more SHALLOW.
    I'm struggling with hinging too early on backswing (and instructors say it varies, but many of them seem to promote this weird drill where they hinge FIRST and THEN turn, which doesn't help me understand how to sequence that).
    I tried doing the "keep the club outside of the hands turned slightly closed" thing, but when I do it, it points the TRAIL (right for me) elbow way out (flying right elbow, but EARLY, not later like Jack Nicklaus).The problem with trying the inside/low hands takeaway is that it seems to give me problems with wedges and fairway woods.
    The fix I've recently made is BALL POSITION. I didn't realize that because I'm right eye dominant, the ball was way back in my stance but I thought it was middle. When I lined the club up with the lead (left) arm, it LOOKED way forward, but it was actually middle. With driver, it looked off my lead PINKY TOE, but it was right off of lead BIG TOE.
    My point is that it seems that hinge, inside takeaway, low hands, AND ball position seem to be RELATED to each other. (You could also add in grip--Matt Fitzpatrick has an extremely strong grip, so like Mike Mulaska, he pushes that lead thumb up/back and cups the trail wrist WITH a bowed lead wrist)

      Yep. No surprise there or with countless others among the game's greats.

    To make it clear to viewers, I think you should say Fitzpatrick's right hip is moving straight back a couple of inches which accounts for the right knee straightening. If my right hip moves straight back a couple of inches on the backswing and the left hip moves straight back a couple of inches on the downswing, my ballstriking is good. If I think about right knee straightening, my ballstriking isn't nearly as good. For me, the right knee slightly straightening is a byproduct of the right hip moving straight back a couple of inches.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому

      The lead knee flexes as the trail knee straightens during the backswing. This flexing/straightening occurs gradually and in response to the centered tilting, turning, and extending components of the motion. They are not contrived actions unto themselves, and thus not something that the golfer needs to "think about". We're simply allowing them to be reactive, thereby freeing up the hips and shoulders to execute an unrestricted turn.
      I have indeed made it quite clear to my viewers that the need for a "weight shift" in the golf swing is one of the greatest fallacies ever taught, and it has led many an amateur golfer into the vast abyss of chronic inconsistency and frustration. This system certainly allows for some transfer of pressure into the trail side during the takeaway. After all, we are moving the mass of the arms and club backwards during that initial stage of the swing. Some like to sense the dynamic pressure shifts; others prefer the feel of a gradual increasing of weight load into the lead leg from the start. However, in either scenario the key here is that we do not allow our mass - and thereby our swing center and low point - to drift back at any point.
      Anyway, as long as it's easy on your body keep on doing what you are doing if that's what produces the best results for you!
      Tom

  • @GP-tt2te
    @GP-tt2te 5 місяців тому

    Like you say Tom, going inside is simply the natural way to start the takeaway. When you're body is coiling the hands and arms will naturally move inside with the bodies movement. It's amazing that so many instructors focus on going against the body's natural movement. Weird.

      Yes! The swing is a tilted circle (or arc, if we wish to get technical), the circumference of which extends from the ball to above and behind our shoulders. As such, if we are going to remain on that circle/arc it requires the hands and club to take a slightly inward path - not a disconnected handsy snatch or roll to the inside - just a natural tracing of the outer rim or circumference. But unfortunately, such sorcery from this dark underworld of golf instruction rarely finds its way to the mainstream because if too many folks found out about it the mainstream would then be rendered irrelevant....... 😎

    couldn't agree more, Fitz's swing proves that the club outside the hands thing is a complete nonsense. but, having said that i don't really like his swing. he locks down with his hands in the takeaway. he, also, copies the long drivers and takes the club virtually as fast as he can. if we copied that would get nowhere fast. i would recommend that any golfer, who can, to copy your swing. in the takeaway, you allow your right elbow to move back in the direction it points at address. and, that has to be key

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 місяців тому +1

      Well, Matt has certainly found a tempo that works for him, and it's so quick that it nearly makes Nick Price look as smooth and silky as Ernie Els in comparison... 😎
      For the average golfer in this regard, there are two things at play here: 1) Discovering and dialing in their ideal swing tempo, and 2) Feeling that transition - or the change in direction - so they don't rush their downswing from the top and thereby lose their sequencing (a very common affliction within the amateur golfing realm). Our perfect tempo/rhythm - which is unique to each of us individually - thereby enables us to gather and unload the various components in proper order for seemingly effortless, powerful ball striking bliss.
      As for that trail elbow, yes - its correct movement allows for the necessary external rotation of the arm which, to your recurring theme, places the left side of the right forearm in position to approach the zone on a proper and powerful path.

    • @DASH1ful
      @DASH1ful 5 місяців тому

      Thanks for that, Tom. Certainly getting out of sequence, in the transition, is a major problem for many golfers, not least myself. And, it may be that if we can solve the much fabled "secret's in the dirt" mystery it can go a long way to successfully negotiating the "crossroads" of the swing. it occured to may that Hogan's "secret's in the dirt" cryptic comment may be in reference to his right foot slide, which, of course dragged up the dirt. And, Jody Vasquez does say that Hogan told him that he moved the left side of his right knee in, in the transition, which is certainly true. But, it may be that Hogan didn't actively move his right knee in. Hogan, also, told Jody that he increased the angle of his right leg in the backswing- as you do- and that the left wrist has to cup in tandem with the angle of the right leg. And, if you swing with just your left hand on the club, stop at the top; and, then recommence your backswing; and, keep pushing back with the joint of your left wrist, when you can't push back any further, the left side of your right knee will press in and pull your hand down.

      Thanks for the reply Tom. My wife and I will be in Myrtle Beach early March, exploring as a possible retirement destination. I took what you showed in this video to the range. Was pulling the ball until I remembered a video you posted on Hogan's unusual positioning of the right hand grip. Amazing how it straightened things out.@@SagutoGolf

    STOP trying to model peoples swings after Pro's - It NEVER works. These guys arent like everyone else. He's probably manipulating his left wrist (or its locked in and doesnt move) in the down swing to get the club in to out. If your angles and arms are correct in the backswing, then base your swing off that. Straightening the leg is also horrible advice. You can get great hip rotation without locking your leg.

      Gee. I sincerely appreciate your kind, thoughtful, and obviously qualified instructional advice.
      Sure - it took Tour Pros years and years to hone their craft and get their swing dialed in to this extent. We absolutely need to build our own unique swing - preferably within the parameters of a proven, reliable system as I teach - but that doesn't mean we can't take useful swing keys from the motions of the game's best to aid us in the process.
      I'm accustomed to pushback from the innocently uninformed and the mistaught as well as those misguided naysayers, but it's all inconsequential since this swing model resides in the truth. “Truth" is defined as that which conforms to reality, and this swing system conforms to the unchanging realities of physics, geometry, and data from the game’s best golf ball strikers. That's the truth, and the results - as backed up by countless unsolicited testimonials - are the proof: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews

      Tom, your use of the English language to disregard your naysayers, may be better than your swing tips! Good job, and your system works. Have lowered by handicap quite a bit with your instructions.
