    The worst part of that story is Colt's response. Unacceptable.

    Four Pythons, Cobra, King Cobra, Anaconda, and not one problem. I even accidentally dropped the King Cobra in a padded zipper case and broke the hammer spur off. Totally my fault. Called Colt and they sent me a new hammer at no cost. Ended up bobbing the broken hammer and keeping the new one for a spare. Sorry you had so much trouble with your KC. Colt has been nothing but outstanding for me.

      I believe you 100% which is why I was really flabbergasted at the way I was treated. I was even more flabbergasted that they said the gap between my barrel and frame was in spec!!! That thing looked awful! And right out of the box it had some seriously goofy problems. They were more than happy to help me as well but they told me it would take me 10 to 12 weeks to get my pistol back which is outrageous!!!! The guys I spoke to one of them was named Jethro he was very nice. Very polite and I understand he's just doing his job he has limitations. But for me personally I don't make enough money to drop $1,000 on a gun that may act like that. And I think that my story here is a testament to how poor their quality control is. A firearm like that should have never left the factory in a million years especially $1,000 revolver. I am happy to hear that you have colts and that you enjoy them and that they work well for you especially the king cobra. Just because I got f***** doesn't mean I want other people to get f***** 😂😂😂. Thanks for your comment bro and thanks for sharing your experience

    I just sent my brand new never used colt king cobra back to Colt for repair for the 2nd time. I’m done. I officially hate Colt. When it comes back I’m getting rid of it. My buddy bought a Ruger SP101 around the same time and has never had a problem with his. I’ve never even fired mine because it seems to break every time I pull the trigger

      Yep!!!... 😢. I feel your pain my friend, I really do. The good news is that people really want these so finding a decent trade should not be hard. Honestly even if you could trade it for an SP101 I would eat the $150-$200 price difference and just call it a day. Couldn't be happier with my trade.

    I bought the Colt King Cobra 3” about 2 years ago. Went to change out the front sight with the hi-viz. Gunsmith said the Allen screw was deformed. Contacted Colt CS and sent it in for inspection. I asked them to install the new sight for me. Had to follow up and stay on top of them. After 3-4 calls and 4 weeks later they shipped me a new gun without the sight installed. Never got an explanation and was exhausted from the process.
    I did shoot the gun with 250 rounds .38 and 250 rounds .357 mag with no problems and I really enjoy shooting the gun. I use it as a pocket carry in Winter. Best trigger I ever felt with a nice break. It’s my 1 and only Colt and I have since discovered other brands that I also enjoy for EDC. I don’t regret the purchase and I let my friends shoot it at the range and it gets a lot of compliments. Colt CS we’re going through learning curves since the company was bought out. At least they spoke English 😂. It’s a great gun and I would recommend it to add to your collection. I’ve had bad copies of other firearms and just trade for something else…God Bless America!

    • @brokeboytactical4397
      @brokeboytactical4397  3 місяці тому

      Definitely happy that yours works bro. But any company that would release a 1,000 gun the way I got mine is unacceptable imo. And the the way they handled the problem was unacceptable. I will never in a million years buy another new Colt. Guys were polite enough for sure but between it locking up right out of the box, the cylinder not lining up correctly with the frame, the 6lbs single action trigger, the barrel separating itself from the frame and the horrible response I got from Colt not to mention the 10-12 week turnaround, I'm done. A bad model would have had a messed up sight like yours or maybe a gritty trigger. Mine please 100% a lemon and never should have made it out of the factory. Quality control literally gets a 0 out of 10 for me. What gun company doesn't speak English? You pocket carry this MASSIVE behemoth?!?! Dang!!!

      Yeah I had heard whispers of colts reliability going downhill but I also heard that once CZ bought them out that they were doing much better. Guess not lol😅 I really like Sig Sauer 👍 My p290rs from Sig was a little disappointing tbh. I had some real problems with light strikes but Sig Sauer handled it like champs. Got my gun back in 3 weeks and it was fixed no fuss no muss. Love my SP2022 but this Custom Shop P229 SAS is on another level. It's a little early to say but this actually might be the best handgun I've ever owned. Ergonomics, reliability, point of aim, trigger, fit and finish all top notch👍 What are the odds that I trade the worst handgun I've ever owned for the best that I've ever owned 😂. Luckily for me though I can sleep at night because my buddy says he can fix this and he has an apple collection of firearms to enjoy. Thanks for commenting and watching bro 👊

I understand it’s a used gun and maybe you might have small issue or two, but damn, that’s just ridiculous! BROKEBOYTACTICAL HERE!!! I keep referring to the gap between the frame of my firearm and the barrel as a "cylinder gap" towards the end of the video. I am so sorry about that 😂. The space between the forcing cone and the cylinder was absolutely in spec. The gap had formed between the barrel and the frame after shooting the firearm. Just wanted to clarify. I don't script or edit these videos

    • @SteveOvsFidel
      @SteveOvsFidel Місяць тому

      Continue the thought on this to see the problem Colt was really covering up. Right now, with that gap, the rear sight and the front sight match up perfectly rendering the barrel and frame “straight”. if that barrel were tightened properly, to where there were no gap, then depending on how it’s threaded, that front sight is going to to end up at anywhere from 9:00 to 12:00 or 12:00 to 3:00. so, the threading on either the barrel or the frame is incorrect. For Colt to call it in spec without measuring in person, is the real problem besides QC initially.

  • @Devoutlancer
    @Devoutlancer Місяць тому +1

    The gap is common, especially in the cobra line. S&W has the same problem. Ruger actually has better tolerances in that aspect. I own a 3 inch King Cobra that has a paper thin gap, it didn't bother me once I learned about it essentially being the norm for most "modern" colt and s&w revolvers.

    Man I’m sorry you had a bad experience. It sucks. I had a similar experience with my brand used 500 magnum I paid 1200$ for. But it was used. I didn’t even reach out to smith, just figured out what was going on with it and fixed it. Luckily parts are cheap. I was gonna say I don’t know how we could do it, but if I could get my hands on it I might could tune it up for you, but then you said you don’t have it anymore. Several of these manufacturers have gotten too big for their britches, colt was one of the first. Smith and wesson not far behind them. That ruger you got tho not as fancy is an absolute unit if it anything like the ones I’ve messed with. Built like tanks. To be honest I haven’t had any problems with taurus tho they are gritty and relatively crude,generally with some use the grit self machines the parts to each other, then tear it down to nothing, clean it oil it maybe a lil grease here and there and they ran like a completely different machine. I used to have a 692 I think it was, lil 3” snubby with ported barrel that would shoot 38/358 or swap the cylinder out and shoot 9mm with moon clips. I really loved that thing..... then a group of Jackass’s broke into my house and stole it along with every other gun I had might near,right at the beginning of the pandemic when everything was just starting to get good and crazy. Oh well just about recovered from it now. Figured out there a difference between a good offence and defense at the home,made changes accordingly, still didn’t stop them from trying 6 more times in a month while I was at work until I got a fence and gates put up. Still live around the assholes that did it im fairly certain,but the police Cant seem to do anything about it. Last 4 years been interesting in melrose south

And no I would never pawn off a piece of s*** on somebody like this I would sooner send it back and wait the 10 to 12 weeks. I would have to agree 100% sir. I've always wanted a Colt and I didn't mind paying double as long as it f****** worked you know?😂. I knew that at the end of the day it was never going to be any more capable than a 686, 586 or an SP101. But I wanted that next level refinement I wanted to be able to say that I had a colt in my collection. I also will admit that I ignored every bad review 😂. I was like "there's no way it's that bad" 😂....it's worse 😢. For the amount of money you're paying I think that the reliability should definitely be there that's a given but the refinement and fit and finish needs to be next level and I do not recall even on the cheapest revolvers having a barrel inch away from the frame! I've had some that have come off center from the frame but none that have never actually inched away from it! This thing was just bad on every level. Thanks for the comment bro 👊

    It seems you can never really tell. You think by buying an expensive firearm you are getting a top tier quality product and get sorely disappointed, then you find that bargain basement budget firearm is solid and reliable as hell. Finding the right one is a real joy and getting an expensive dud would be a gut punch to my wallet. As a fifth generation cheap bastard I am proud to have a small number of blue light specials that hold their own. I’m really surprised at your findings with Colt, that is a gorgeous piece. However, because of what you went through I will never consider getting one. Just your facial expressions when thinking back made me laugh and scratch it completely out of my mind. Glad you found a fantastic replacement though!👍

    • @brokeboytactical4397
      @brokeboytactical4397  7 місяців тому +1

      Price tag definitely does not equal quality I can attest to this. But when you're buying a Colt Snake Gun that should mean something in my opinion. When you buy a cult that should mean that you're getting top level performance with next level refinement fit and finish. The finish is beautiful the fit is trash! The reliability on this firearm is literally all around terrible. And when I was shooting it, it was just kind of...meh 😕. That's why I even fully said in the video that my 8:56 kicked the Colt King cobras dick right in the dirt 😂. A $350 six shot Brazilian made 38 special plus p blows the american-made legend right out of the water on this one. They need to go back to the blueprints and completely tear this thing down and start from scratch it is a bad design. That is the only thing that can account for so many horrendous failures out of the box. If you do buy a Colt, I would recommend dropping the three or four grand on the collectible snake guns 👍 otherwise like you said just get a Taurus Rracker and if you really want to ball out get a Ruger SP101/Redhawk or Smith & Wesson 686/586. All of them less expensive and all of them leaks and bounds better than the king cobra in my experience. Oh yeah my buddy is a big-time collector I had a lot to choose from in this price range 😂 we do a lot of trading and buying and selling. Thanks for watching and commenting man have a good one 👊

    The old saying "lipstick on a pig". Quality control is paramount in all applications of manufacturing. After dropping 600bucks on a new Colt defender in 45acp with shit 80's internals, Colt lost a customer, damn thing wouldn't function for shit with any ammo! When it did, the accuracy was crap. I have been totally satisfied with all aspects of Taurus! No questions asked, just send it back! Sent me a brand new one, better by a mile than Colt, I know that's hard to believe but it's true. I can see a barrel coming off center with the frame but completely moving away from the frame is something that I have never experienced on a revolver in my life. In fact everything that I went through with this gun is something that I have never experienced on any revolver in my life. Pore fit and quality would be an understatement and this level of quality would be unacceptable on a Taurus so when it's on your $1,000 Colt it hurts a lot more 😂

      @@brokeboytactical4397 If someone were to give me a "Colt Python", I'd sell it or trade it in for something. I've known people to own the Colt Python and it was nothing but problems. A. .357 mag is a.357 out of any firearm. Me myself, I am a GP 100 Six-inch barrel and an SP 101, both. .357.

    Yours is by far the worst account I've heard yet. So Thursday, I'm taking my new King Cobra DAO to the range and putting both .357mag and 38spl through it to see how it performs. Just cycling the action with snap caps in, it performs just fine. But I definitely need to know how it does with live ammo. Gotta know if I can trust my life to it. Thank you for sharing.

      I have the 357 magnum,a Python 357 magnum and the Anaconda 44 Magnum and all 3 have no issues.build quality is better than older ones and the action is way better

      @deanmiller6177 my range test actually went without incident. I put 40 .357mags through it, then 100 .38spls. Flawless performance. My only issue turned out to be the rubber grip. Apparently, there was an air space between the back strap and the grip. It felt like a hammer slamming my palm with hotter .357s. I've since replaced the factory grip with a wooden grip. No more air space. :)

    Quality control in most companies is awful right now, but I've heard literally nothing good about these new Colt revolvers. The guys at my local shop say half the ones they sell come back for warranty work. Timing issues, fitting issues, parts breaking...etc.
    I honestly think if you want a 6-shot 38 or 357, Taurus and Rossi are better options, and they're less than half the cost.

      I mentioned my 856 in this video because they're relatively comparable in size even though they're different calibers they're both six shots, they both have 2" barrels and they are both solid steel construction. I flat out said I'd rather have my 856 or even a Taurus tracker over the King Cobra. Given my experience right out of the box with this firearm I must agree 💯

      @@brokeboytactical4397Yeah I agree with you for sure. I've owned an 856 and a Tracker, and they did well. No issues. The new Rossi RP63 was in my local shop for $399, and I would absolutely take it over a Colt. Even if the Colt was also $399. It's wild to even think this, but Taurus's QC and customer service might be better than Colt's... 😢

    Currently having a mess with my Cobra in .22lr. Life long Colt fan with 6 or so Colt guns, but I’m tapped out at this point. Customer service is even more of a mess.
    Also, they absolutely refuse to sell or send parts. Everything must be warranty. What a mess

    To me Colt is overrated, they just living of former glory and there customer service is terrible from other references I got . Some of them came good no problems but others don't. Never care for Colt and the S&W and Rugers that I have are nicer and more reliable for less money invested. I pick a S&W 686 or Ruger GP100 even Sp101 all day long before grabbing a Colt . Just my opinion but Colt lovers go with your instincts and be happy!
