That first bass you caught is what I like to call a Brazos bass. I live on PK and fish that same spot below the dam all the time. Keep up the work love the videos Jon👍
Hey Jon B, I’ve watched both of your 24hr series and really enjoyed it. You should definitely do Sc or NC next for your 24 hr video. Sweet content and appreciate you!
We have incredible fishing in the Northwest (as do the Rocky Mountain States) but we always get ignored by all the fishing shows who focus so heavily on the South and Midwest, come here and fish for Salmon, Steelhead, multiple kinds of Trout and Char, Striper, Sturgeon and ocean fish galore.
You don’t want them to show off how good the fishing is up there , I live in Florida and everywhere the fishing shows fish at the spot gets trashed and overfished. I love the fishing shows just as much as everyone else but the people that they bring in aren’t always great for your fishing spots .
I was thinking"steelhead trout" when he asked for suggestions in the last video, but I didn't know where they typically live. We used to buy them at the local market in Connecticut (which has great fishing despite that it's a small state.) Really good eating. We also occasionally got carp, which I bought whole, gutted (instead of typically filleting) and stuffed with a prune and onion carp-stuffing recipe that I found in an old German cookbook. My eldest daughter and I loved it, but certain members of the family were put off by the idea that it was a carp. 🤷
Just saying this series in as many states as you can would be amazing and certainly hope to see more. like maybe a michigan one when steelhead are running. Or like a Utah one real soon before things start getting cold. Idk I'd just love to see more like this in the future lmao. Love the vids Jon!
I believe that is the Possum Kingdom Tailrace in the Brazos River where you caught that Guad Bass. Go there during the winter (about dec 1) To fish for trout. They stock em all winter!
The only issue I have with the googan baits so far, is durability. Granted, the softer plastic lends to great action, it just sucks going through multiple packs of bait every time you get into some fish.
There is definitely a line that you have to draw between durability and action. I usually use Strike King because they have all the same stuff that the Googans have but they are more durable.
I've never had issues with their durability honestly. Like I've gotten like 5 fish on a drag n drop. Which is pretty normally for other baits I've tried about 3-5 fish or so on a soft plastic isn't awful
I will say on their craw baits the pinchers have fallen off while casting them on a jig a couple times which is pretty bad but I mean I am bouncing them off hella rocks and in current and sending them pretty far so they go through a lot it's just disappointing when it happens because we all know it shouldn't
I love the enthusiasm you have for catching each species you just love all fish and i sincerely love the respect and decent manner you handle the fish.... Keep it it man
hey jon b, i’m not sure what kind of hooks you were using for the alligator gar but you need to set the hook super hard to get through their tough mouths. like… super hard. love the videos🤟🏽
Totally dig the outlook at the end. Spent 9 hrs and two lakes today on the greenback grind just as I was gonna call it got one small one then 4 casts later hooked into an easy 3+ which is rare for public water in my area, jumped and shook the hook right at the edge of my kayak. Fished through the pain and ended up getting on a fun jerkbait bite. Gotta cherish what we can make happen in our day!
I’ve hit some big spools of fishing line in my motor a few times when loading up my boat at the boat landing. Doesn’t mess your motor up as much as a anchor rope but people need to really learn on keeping the boat landings clean for everybody else
Canada in New Brunswick we got some of the best fisheries in the world for Atlantic salmon, striped bass, smallmouth bass, musky, brook trout and brown trout, chain pickerel, huge sturgeon, We also got some alright largemouth and catfish, white and yellow perch!
Would love to see more carp and catfish videos from Jon b, it’s hard to find a fishing channel with an entertaining angler as well as being informative of the species caught. Jon B and Carl from UK best out there rn
What if in the future, you formatted this challenge as a Speedrun where you timed yourself to see how fast you could catch every species in a state rather than giving up once the 24 hours are over?
Awesome video! Wisconsin 24 hour challenge. Muskie, Pike, Small Mouth/Rock, White and Large Mouth Bass, Walleye, Trout/Salmon, Warmouth, Bourbot or eelpout, endless opportunities on panfish.
Absolutely awesome, I love these so much. You should go to Florida and do a freshwater and a salt water video. Or what would be cooler is go home to your home state and catch as many species as possible!!! Love your videos!!
I watched the previous 24 hour fishing challenge last night. I was like dammnnn ima have to wait forever to see your next one . And here you are dude the very next day 😂😂 gotta come to Florida with that challenge man. Can’t wait
I'm from Wisconsin, born and raised. Moved down here with my family, and my passion for fishing was reignited. There are so many fun species down here, and so many nice ponds and lakes. However, I do miss my small mouth bass, walleye, yellow perch, and pike/muskie lol

nice vid. even when you don't land a gar, you still make the experience intense. you need to do another video on catching a gar like the one you did night fishing with Kyle B last year
Watched the last one and ya fell short and I was so rooting for ya! It's done....you did it....Freakin satisfying is what it is....Congrats and thanks!
I’d go up to Michigan during the salmon/steelhead run, u have the option to catch tons of fish such as, brook trout, brown trout, chinook salmon, coho salmon, steelhead and walleye and potentially a bass! 🎣🎣
Come over to Arkansas boys... not too far and you can Catch everything from brown trout to bowfin I think that would be an awesome challenge with so much diversity!!
You let it eat an ok amount of time, but you didn’t set the hook nearly hard enough… you gotta ram that hook basically into bone. Another great video brother!
My ex-brother in law loved fishing gar because of the way they would play with their food. He always said that was true fishing. I've heard a lot of people don't like fishing them because they don't act like normal fish and they're really strong.
@@wiebevangrouw2203 they aren't a trash fish at all. The thing is that there are many types of game fish and eaters here. The carp has it's respect, I love them for the intensity they have on the hook 🪝
Just watched your sick 24 hour challenge all the way over here is Australia. Dude you gotta get back over here and do the challenge! So many species that will pull your arms off, all within a 10min drive from each other
It’s cool to see you step out of the normal routine and target less sought after species. I know it s part of the challenge but still. You and LFG crappie fishing or even carp would be fire.

Hey Jon B,
I’ve watched both of your 24hr series and really enjoyed it. You should definitely do Sc or NC next for your 24 hr video. Sweet content and appreciate you!
Definitely sc, a place called Lake Secession has such good fighting bass and catfish.😃
