Being from the area, it is awesome to see y’all bringing light to the insane fishery it is. The more people that know about it and buy licenses allow the Everglades to stay beautiful and wild
Always knew I was super fortunate to grow up here (As a fisherman, it's still a sh^tsh*w otherwise 🤣) Anyways can confirm Pub Subs are the truth lol. Keep after it and pursue the night fishing. It's slept on out here badly.
The sunfish were spotted sunfish and the bass were Florida Largemouth bass (Micropterus Salmoides). Choctaw bass are only native to the upper panhandle of Florida. Gar were also Florida Gar, very similar to Spotted gar of Texas. Love your multispecies vids
Thanks for the clarifications, I just know sometimes there are local nicknames or references and the appearance on the video looked similar to some photos I’d seen of Flier’s online. We don’t have any of those up north where I’m from so it’s just really cool seeing and learning about different species. Thanks again! Tight lines all!
In order as seen: Species 1: Bullseye Snakehead Species 2: Florida Bass (Micropterus salmoides). Recently split from the regular Largemouth Bass (Micropterus nigricans). Species 3: Spotted Sunfish, not a hybrid. Native species. Species 4: Mayan Cichlid Species 5: Oscar Species 6: Jaguar Guapote The weird Bass are more than likely just more Florida Bass, but it is possible they're hybrids between Florida Bass and introduced Spotted Bass or Largemouth Bass, I have no idea what Bass species are introduced in that area. Choctaw Bass are only found on the panhandle. At 20:14 the little guys swimming around are African Jewel Cichlid, probably the best bait for any Florida gar. Species 7: Florida Gar Species 8: Coppernose Bluegill Species 9: Peacock Cichlid At 28:34 that obviously was a Bullseye Snakehead as I'm sure you know Not bad.
Not many people I can watch on UA-cam for 30mins without changing it...your videos are still premium 👌 from the first time i have ever seen one of your videos before googan squad was even a thing!! love watching them fish on!! Tight lines my friend 🎣 🐟
When people in Florida think of fishing it’s always salt! Honestly the freshwater fishing is so underrated. Your amazing content always highlights the parts of Florida fishing I love!
There is a big freshwater fishing community throughout the state. I grew up in the panhandle and did a lot of both. Many of our river systems are surrounded by public land wma's, so there is a ton of access. I could name off 25 or 30 major rivers in the northern part of the state that are surrounded by state land.
Awesome video you should do this type of video out in California like in the San Joaquin delta, there are tons of different species like smallmouth bass, stripers, largemouth, steelhead, salmon, lots of sucker fish, sturgeon and more. I love these kind of vids man
Great to see you guys back in Florida! I fish those same canals along 41 throughout the Everglades and all around Everglades City. Florida truly is an amazing fishery. Keep up the great work! 👏🏼
Would love to see the Salt Water challenge. I grew up a Bass Fisherman in the Northeast but now live in Florida and I’m starting to really get into Surf casting.
I've been a viewer for about 5 years now and have been loving everything! Do you think you would ever upgrade the videos to 1440P or 4K possibly? Much love
The bass at 18:22 definitely looked odd, maybe a large mouth, but it’s jaws and markings on its face were suspicious. This is such a great video, love the multi species angling
Pretty sure the unidentified species are: Spotted sunfish, Choctaw bass, and Florida gar (Which is separate from spotted gar). Sick video! Being from Minnesota, I wish I was down there right now myself!
watching some of the florida classics, and the hook sets jon has are still hilarious. 28:43 almost WHACKS caleb in the face and proceeds to say "did you see that" 😂
hey Jon, you should travel to Thailand or Malaysia to hunt for actual giant snakeheads. they get absolutely huge, some reach a meter in length and up to 30 pounds in terms of weight. plus they fight hard too. insane looking fish
I always had Oscars as a kid. They would grow so big. I always felt bad when they got big. They had personalities and started to feel like keeping a dog in a fish tank.
if you wanna do a 24 hr saltwater florida video, let me know...reds, trout, sails, tuna, bones, tarpon etc. ...could be something amazing if conditions allow...would be out of kayaks/land
So cool seeing how stoked you get sticking a snakehead! Hit me up next time you're in SoFla and we'll slide my skiff into my sketchy snake spot and chase some biggins.
I love these 24 hour challenge videos! I also had to laugh at the bleep bleep part even though you got stung. Sorry, but its nice to see you have that human vocabulary when it hurts. For real though, please keep posting videos! I watch them at work when nothing is going on. You are the King Weiner!!!
That’s the beauty of small baits you can catch anything. I’ll be looking at those googan micro baits to throw on my bfs setups. I just wrecked a creek in Fort Worth on a 3/64th oz Jackson bass jig.
Great video, being from the Uk England I watch your videos and wind myself up as I'd love to be able to catch the species you have access too. Maybe one day i'll get over their to chuck some lures around, in the meantime I'll keep watching your videos brilliant work jon well done 🎣tight lines 👊👍
Snakes don’t really harm the bass population. They mostly eat frogs, lizards and things that fall in. Bass eat a lot of bait fish. They really coexist really easily
John, you and the team should take a fishing trip to eastern Ontario Canda, maybe near the St. Lawrence river. Obviously not right now unless you want to ice fish but otherise summer fishing in the St, Lawrence is beauty!
Come up to western Washington and do a 24 hour challenge in the summer. Tons of opportunity if the timing is right for freshwater and saltwater in the sound and on the coast.
I live around the area you're fishing. With a snakehead, they have a wide mouth, so when they hit the bait, you should count to 2 when using a frog. That will give them time to really get ahold of the bait.
Love watching these challenges, hope the video makes the likes so you guys can go saltwater too! Just curious, what Costas are you wearing in this video?
Being from the area, it is awesome to see y’all bringing light to the insane fishery it is. The more people that know about it and buy licenses allow the Everglades to stay beautiful and wild
Could not agree more, keep the glades beautiful
Always knew I was super fortunate to grow up here (As a fisherman, it's still a sh^tsh*w otherwise 🤣) Anyways can confirm Pub Subs are the truth lol. Keep after it and pursue the night fishing. It's slept on out here badly.
Wish i could like this a million times, keep Florida beautiful!✌🏼
Agreed although I would add that people should keep invasive species because they are dramatically out competing our native species
What reel are you using that makes that noise....I want one.!!!
The sunfish were spotted sunfish and the bass were Florida Largemouth bass (Micropterus Salmoides). Choctaw bass are only native to the upper panhandle of Florida. Gar were also Florida Gar, very similar to Spotted gar of Texas. Love your multispecies vids
Let's add to this that the one at 28:29 was not a bowfin but a snakehead
Just wondering, is the spotted sunfish the same or different species from a Flier?
@HAWKSFAN4444 different. Spotted sunfish belong to the genius lepmois, whereas flier belong to centrarchus
Beat me to the proper IDs

at 28:34 that wasn’t a snakehead it was a bowfin but everything else is accurate
@@mx_rider8951 they said it was a bowfin but it looks nothing like a bowfin. its possible they meant bullhead
I love it when you go for a hook set and Caleb flinches. Creek fishing is so fun. Love the challenge.
I love these multispecies challenges!

Yes his videos are great quality I feel like it’s a tv show lol
Did you get this giveaway or did they ask you for a bunch of money
@@ThepsychJ I didn't get any sort of giveaway
You know its a good day when Jon B posts a challenge video

@@JonBrollinthe first sun fish the hybrid looked like a pumpkin seed cross green sunfish

Not me, I prefer freshwater fishing.
not me

Banger video brotha🤘 always love these 24 hour challenges.
Fun video, i love doing this kind of stuff, but it’s also super fun to watch you nail a bunch of species. Im voting please do a saltwater version 🙏🏻

That’s what I was thinking too!
Yes Caleb is my guy swearing by the Publix sub. Absolute dynamite and a must when I'm down in Florida
Come to south east Asia ...catch the giant Snakehead ... That would be lit
Excited about that salt water video too!
The bass at 18:22 definitely looked odd, maybe a large mouth, but it’s jaws and markings on its face were suspicious. This is such a great video, love the multi species angling

Don’t think Choctaw Bass is that far south.
South Florida is a fisherman's paradise. We are spoiled with all the different species of fish to catch.
Bro, this one hit home! I love fishing bass derbies but this one was just nostalgic and awesome!! My favorite of your videos
It’s an honor to have my comment liked and highlighted by you I’ve been waiting very long for this thankyou so much your the best 😁🤙
Another great episode man! Keep up the great work!! Watching for that 10k!
24 hour Salt Challenge? Great time of year for it
watching some of the florida classics, and the hook sets jon has are still hilarious. 28:43 almost WHACKS caleb in the face and proceeds to say "did you see that" 😂
Saltwater in Florida 2 day species challenge would be fireeeeeee 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome! If you would have fished the canals that lead to the ocean, could’ve hooked Snook and Tarpon as well!
Great video, that method of Gar fishing is crazy. Can't wait for the saltwater challenge
BRING US THE SALTWATER FISHING!!!!!!!!
hey Jon, you should travel to Thailand or Malaysia to hunt for actual giant snakeheads. they get absolutely huge, some reach a meter in length and up to 30 pounds in terms of weight. plus they fight hard too. insane looking fish
Oscar is apart of the cichlid family. As always love the vids and baits.
sweet, thank you for the clarification
I always had Oscars as a kid. They would grow so big. I always felt bad when they got big. They had personalities and started to feel like keeping a dog in a fish tank.
3:37 - “They can release them selves” he says as he releases it💀
Great video Jon. Those Clown Knife are some finicky fish, especially when lure fishing. Cool fish, fight hard and jump, but man. Finicky.
That day seemed like pure chaos between the chopper, the dude jump scaring you, and those solid pike. Bet it was a blast.
That panfish in the glades are what we Floridians refer to as a stumpknocker just so you know. Great vid man and keep ‘em coming!
jon’s fishing knowledge is immaculate
Never expected to see so many Canadian Geese just chilling in the Florida canals
if you wanna do a 24 hr saltwater florida video, let me know...reds, trout, sails, tuna, bones, tarpon etc. ...could be something amazing if conditions allow...would be out of kayaks/land
Wow !!!
Everyone like it! Wanna see the 24 hr salt water, love you Jon you keep me fishing everyday!

Pubsubs are GOATED
Gotta do the saltwater challenge!
Sweet videos...love seeing people promote my home state and area
LFG love the 24 hour fishing challenges
10:46 looks like a spotted sunfish, almost like what we call a stump knocker in SE Georgia.
In my lake, largemouth dominate over snakeheads. You could go fishing for hours and catch like 30 largemouth and like 1 snakehead
Dude you've made it I remember the Illinois pond fish videos now Killin it heck yeah man

Love the video Jon! but the "Bowfin" at 28 minutes def was a snakehead!
I lowkey love Mayan cichlids. They hit crank baits as hard as the peacocks do
Man you are forcing me to have to go to Florida and fish looks so fun bro!! 😂🔥
Do it! Some awesome bank fishing
Leo would be proud of your efforts.
You should go to Louisiana and catch bowfin and alligator gar there’s a lot of good places to catch these prehistoric monsters!

This is my second favorite challenge just behind the mtb slam challenge which needs to come back
Been planning a trip for 5 years to FL and haven't made it yet. Definitely gotta do one now. The fisheries look insane.

Finally saw John catch a snakehead. Book a fishing trip to Papua new Guinea and target Black Bass they will give you chills
