I’ve always wondered if the Verum Rex game segment in Toy Box would be more significant. I think you could make the argument it’s technically a datascape? It is technically a video game which you enter, digital code, but given that most (if not all?) datascapes we’ve seen are reflections of the realm of light… it would be interesting. I think KH4 is going to get very meta, maybe a little too meta for some given how the series doesn’t often “wink at the camera” and things could very easily go in that direction but I have full faith these elements will be treated with the same sincerity and weight everything else does. I’m just eating for when Sora in Quadratum sees a KH video game and the crisis that comes with that. We could very well be looking at a system where you enter worlds via their mediums (I.E. Entering Star Wars through a movie theater and/or Marvel through a Comic Book). Comics, especially DC comics, have used this idea of one world’s reality being another’s fiction often and recall in an interview something similar being said to that will be in KH4, at least the idea of it.
Also, if Donald and Goofy do go through traditional Disney worlds, I highly doubt that would just be in cutscenes. Hear me out, Kairi will be there. She’ll have to obtain the power of waking to reach Sora? Traditional Disney worlds are in the realm of light and not Unreality? They could very easily have Kairi fill Sora’s place in the traditional KH format for Disney worlds and Sora/Riku for things like Star Wars. Just a thought given how they would probably want to reuse assets from KH3 for 4 and you can’t have Sora revisit Toy Box but would probably have to given it’s plot importance, same with Olympus.
that definitley follows what we have learned so far. Heck! Maybe in the black box there is a book like what maleficient said previously, but its not one of prophecy. Rather, it is a book that allows the user to travel to another world. Also the Idea of going through books in order to travel to other worlds sounds very much like Winnie the Poo
Nomura all but fist-fought Disney to use Toybox. He wouldn't make KH3 without Toybox. That world is littered with parallels to both the Datascape and Realm of Sleep. Besides introducing Yozora/Quadratum and foreshadowing Re:Mind, there's gotta be deeper layers of meaning to these Data/Dream refs. Nomura is not lazy or general with his lore or foreshadowing, he put clues in the tiniest most obscure details, from a X on a t-shirt, to cover art composition, to gameplay mechanics (drop system, Riku's dream eater fusions), to the KH3's logo color gradiant. Never think you're looking too deep, Nomura wants us to deep dive into this lore/setting
KH3 was initially supposed to be called Verum Rex with the Kingdom Hearts title dropped completely. Lightning Returns and KH both do quite a bit of exploration about hopping worldlines and the worlds of fiction versus worlds of reality. In LR, Eorzea is mentioned as a fictional world for example, and at the end of the game Bhunivelze and Darkness sweep the worlds away while Lightning and all of the Souls/Hearts of Nova Chrysalia are transported to real world Earth.
I've been suspicious regarding Toybox and the "Game" Verum Rex ever since the first secret movie. Re:Mind just blew it into fullscale. What I think more so, is the enemy in Quadratum does things differently to the convention. One that will give the series a true sense of maturity and progression regarding the human condition (which wowzers, KH does pretty well already). As JoyHappiness said, we're looking for a lasting consequence and a true struggle for Sora and Riku. One that fits with the circumstances in Quadratum for Yozora, the Nameless star and their friends. Should look into Versus XIII and the Fabula Nova lore, it seems those concepts and interpretations are making their way into KH4 and I could not be happier. FF15 was a huge letdown for me due to removing those elements.
Lightning Returns alone does enough to set up for Kingdom Hearts, considering the role of Lightning in that game is collecting people's hearts in order to transport them to a new world as the darkness is consuming Nova Chrysalia
I wonder if Quadratum is Disney's excuse for a Final Fantacy style world(s) or excuse for "the other side", which would lead into what were ALL hoping is the Star Wars/Death Star worlds, I'm hoping that's the case :)
I agree somewhat, but disagree about donald and goofy going back to Toy Box. In KH3 it was a big deal that Donald and Goofy couldn't go to the world of Darkness because there would be no one to save Sora, Riku, or Mikey if something happened, I have a feeling since the world of Darkness has found a way into Quadratum that Donald and Goofy will find a portal or something similar to enter Quadratum.
Plot twist. MoM is soras Nobody. Where Roxas is actually Ventus' which explains why he look like ventus. Sora had multiple hearts in his own. Kairi,Ventus and his own. At the end of kh1. When he freed kairis heart Namine was created, so was Roxas. But that's only 2. So MoM was created aswell but left in another realm due to a overflow of hearts being tampered with. And not out of darkness Which is WhY Sora didn't turn into a Darkling because he did it willingly. MoM was sent back in time due to the Darkness existing in ventus' heart which was in Sora. So when he was a Child he witnessed the first keyblade war between darkness and light and possibly the creation of Kingdom Hearts. He traveled along the Darkness' life line instead. Then grew up and bestowed keyblades to the fortellers and sent Luxu out on his journey. Till disproven this is my headcannon which I'll iron out. As Vanitas was separated when ven was in Soras heart. But I'm sure with some thinking me or someone else can iron it out. Apologies for any mistakes or incoherentness. I'm staying up stupid long due to having things to do on my opposite schedule. Hopefully the point gets across.
Great Video :) Thinking Of The Quadratum World Riku Is Going To Is The One With Yozora (The Real World) And Sora Is In Quadratum As Well But As (An After Life) Because Of His Actions And Maybe Donald And Goofy Are Looking For Hades In The Underworld For Help To Get Sora Out. I Been Having These Weird Thoughts Lately That When Yozora Defeats Sora, Sora Gets Crystallized And Returns To The One Heart That Has The Special Bond With Him That Is Riku’s And That’s Why Riku Has The Dreams Of Himself Finding Sora In Tall Buildings And Someone Watching Him Up Ahead. Riku Will Be The Key To Restore Sora’s Being. Also When Sora Defeats Yozora, Yozora States That His Power Isn’t Needed Yet (Thinking All Three Sora, Riku and Yozora Will Have A Huge Impact Going Forward) PS Yozora Wakes Up And Asked “Impressive Is It Not”? Maybe Yozora Had A Task To Prove That He Has This Special Power Or Used The Power Of Waking, Like He Said He Went Through Trials And To Save Sora But There Is More Than Himself To Save Sora. :)

I think this is an interesting theory. However, it would maybe be Kari's job. She wanted to go to quadratom. It would make sense. Kairis goal is Sora. And who is she training with.. aqua. I feel Venus story intertwine with kairis and also the twilight gang as lea and his pals need a way to understand what happened to Thier pal. So it might imterlap as to a solution to cross worlds ie how kairi originally got to destiny island. Nomura already set the clues
I don’t think that’s a portal to Quadratum, I think it’s a portal to a video game based on the world of unreality, because that world is fiction to KH world.

Yozora is the video game equivalent of Noctis Lucis Caelum, he is a fictional character based on a real person, a fantasy based on reality.
