I was literally coming down to the comments to mention they looked like 2 of the remnants from Advent Children. Loz and Yazoo. The black feather specifically crumbling to dust is like Sephiroth's main calling card. Tho why the Remnants exist in a time before Sephiroth even exists I have no idea.
And a world where sephiroth is a super boss that’s nothing to do with the main plot
@@adammorin2955 well yeah but young zack cameos in bbs and missing lini takes place before that. Im not say kh has to wait for Sephiroth to die for the remnants to show up. It's just weird to have them exist on the timeline before Sephiroth. But im still leaning towards it being them which is what makes it weird!

Dumb theory time:
The heartless are still born from the darkness in peoples' hearts and mostly reside in the realm of darkness, but use the Astral plane to travel the realms. The Astral plane is timeless, and thus once the emblem heartless were born, they immediately existed across all time.

I think The Astral Plane is a mirror to Our Irl World, and the Darkness and Memories come from Our Hearts. And we remember the Emblem Heartless, so they are there.
Either that, or the Book of Prophecies dreamed them there because The Master had Seen Them and wrote Them in.

@reignvanvoorhis3273 I've heard a theory saying that Yazora's love interest is also named Sora hence why he may have been shocked. Also why when Sora does loose, he says "I will save you." Possibly referring to his love interest. Obviously just a theory but yeah lol

Sora introduced himself as Sora to her, why didn't she specifically point out they have the same name.
Yozora said he was "asked" to save Sora. He doesn't have to, but it's now his responsibility, wouldn't be surprised if this is another time travel scenario and someone went back to tell Yozora this.
I have been thinking a younger Odin could show up but his ravens? Now that’s an interesting take! We’ll have to see (eventually)
It would be awesome if both missing link and KH4 gets revealed at Summer Game Fest similar to FF7 EVER CRISIS AND REBIRTH
Wow this is a crazy story drop, a lot of this stuff makes the games title more clear, truly a "Missing Link" tying together stuff from the Chi saga, KH3 and KH4
Seen the cutscenes last night. And I gotta say this game looks so frickin good my guy. Just hyped we got a loom at something new from kingdom hearts
The two people when i saw the cutscene since they have white hair i only thought they could be like people part of Xehanort's family or smth, but have a connection with odin would be interresting tbh 🤔
The heroes naming scheme is interesting there all named after mythical heroes who failed to make a city.
Remus was the brother of Romulus the founder of Rome.
Nept is named after Neptune who his Greek variant Poseidon lost a contest to Athena to become the patron god of Athens
Freya was the leader of the Vanir who went to war with the Aesir and lost. She was forced to marry the king of the Aesir Odin.
One thing i noticed with roman and greek mythology. Their roman versions have more failures more then one actually and their greek versions are more high and mighty cocky type mostly depends on the god but i wonder if we are getting roman gods for some of the characters the higher upper houses have greek names?

makes me wonder if we'll eventually see a character named gillgamesh! but he doesn't fit the "failed king" pattern so maybe he'd be a villain
I feel like if Odin is gonna be in the story he's gonna be much younger than our character considering our character died from old age when Xehanort was a younger and Odin was there as Xehanort grew older in Scala.
Its kinda of a weird timespan cause player of this game grows to be like 70+ enough to die of old age or whatever odin needs to be at least 20 here to even make sense

Lore seems really interesting so far but man I really hope this game actually comes out soon. We've been waiting so long for a MOBILE game that I feel like they shouldve just made it a console game. Seems like they kinda struggle with this too cause its so big and making it work on most phones is probably no easy task. Its cool that we got actual cutscenes and stuff now but I truly hope this is the last mobile game man

There was a ton of Sephiroth symbolism & indications Scala ad Caelum got the distortion world traveling tech from Shinra/FF7 Universe--the black feathers that fell from the sky only to look up and see two silver haired individuals looking down going "busted" [anyone who's seen ff7 advent crisis movie should recognize exactly what this scene most likely means and who those two were], the sign outside the Baroque HQ being written in CETRA SCRIPT (Ancients; Aerith), the portal to the distortion worlds being located in the EXACT MAKO REACTOR FROM FF7 REMAKE (the one JENOVA was below), the distortions taking place in the mind of the player (just like Cloud) AND in the world you first enter on the Astral Plane, the opening scene literally looking like it was straight out of FF7 REMAKE Shinra territory, the whole taking fragments from distorted, dead worlds to gain memories and magic/abilities [materia, anybody?], and a few more I know I'm forgetting.
This makes sense, as all our Final Fantasy characters were integral parts of the Dark Seeker Saga (until the end, lol); they TOLD US THEY'RE WORLD DIED! Finally it looks like we're going to get that plot point paid-off. And since Scala ad Caelum is a blend of all worlds and the connection to them, it makes perfect sense why characters from other Worlds like final fantasy would also land here just like the MC and others have been as already stated many times in Missing Links first 4 chapters lol.
I could go on, but I'll say it--this is going to be a game heavy with final fantasy 7 content. That's my bet. There's no way they'd give us so many references so off the bat and then just be like "gotcha" when the necessary FF7 characters have been in KH from day 1 and the ff7 world is canonically one of the dead distortion worlds on the astral plane.
I'll leave it at that. ✌️
Hoping they allow this game to be played on console or pc.

Edym, to be specific. But yes. He, Lauriam and Elena I believe were supposed to get more backstory in this game.
I thought the same exact thing. I hope they give backstory for Demyx and Luxord in Missing Link. We already know the backstory for Larxene/Elrena and Marluxia/Lauriam. Now we need to know the backstory for Demyx and Luxord and what their real names are.

there is a bit of misstranslations in the new update but basiclly one of the reasons the baroque arent well liked is because of their operation master being either sleepy lazy and dosnt show up to meetings like at all or do any work
and from how they talk probablly just cause around picking misfits so yeah the guy is basiclly like yami

Don't panic about missing sound fx I've worked in game audio before and foley sounds like that tend do be some of the last things put in because they are subject to animation changes I'm confidant the full version will have them

What is MoM was the first and last being to ever exist in the KH universe. He was thought of by someone in "our" world and the rest is history.

It may just be me. But with that character being named Nept, while his companion is named Freya, I think we may see a mesh of histories here. Nept and Remus are very Roman names while Freya and Odin are old Norse. Idk if it’ll mean anything but the names could represent a combination of “societies” coming together or it could be a stark difference and we should keep an eye on the Norse people or the Roman people
Perhaps each family line uses a different mythology to name themselves.
Maybe Nept and Remus come from the same family tree somewhere down the line. Same with Freya and Odin.

KHUX updates were regular. There always was a new story update every month with only a few exceptions, where then usually the month before or after got 2 updates.
You can't exactly get more regular updates than monthly. The real issue was that the global version was always ~5 months behind the Japanese version

Just want to clarify one thing : again, there's a mistranslation concerning the astral plane. In dub, they say it connects existence with non existence. In japanese, they use the same word "koku" that xemnas and Vanitas use when they talk about the Void. So astral plane connects existence/reality with the Void.

I'm currently watching Black Clover and had already made the connection or similarity between the Black Bulls and This society.
Here's my theory that I hope isn't real:
The universe of Kingdom Hearts is probably going to end up as a MMO game to the inhabitants of Quadradum which is the astral realm in Missing Link. I have been on this disgusting cop-out theory for a while due to the nature of data, replicas, unreality, escaping into pods like the dandelions in Union cross to Kiari, there's a Traverse coffee shop that you can see from the Yozora boss fight area if you go out of bounds and there's a almost 'Sega like' logo that says 'D-dream' and 'D-eater' (Dream eaters and D links) on a building in Quadratum's KH4 trailer.
The Quadratum inhabitants noticed their self inserted characters of their game started to act strangely so they sent in darkness/heartless as a anti virus software but the KH keyblade wielders saw this as a threat so they started to destroy the darkness not knowing where it came from. They manipulated the game's code as 'light' and keyblades to take out the heartless. Now, some of the video game characters like Sora and Strelitzia found their way into the real world after being deleted and one of the anti virus software heartless broke loose in the real world in KH4.
Sora messed with the program so the game deleted him from the game but the hopes and dreams of the people that wanted KH to be their escape from their mundane lives, appeared as 'real' people. These memories from the astral dimension in Missing Link could just be coding from the KH game in Quadratum.
Yozora: "You're my self inserted character that I wanted to save from being deleted. How are you in the real world? I thought we could only enter the KH universe to play and train in? We sent in a heartless program to take care of the viruses."
"Sora: "What did you mean a game? I'm in the afterlife."
Yozora: "No, you're not in the afterlife. I'm real and I made you and Riku from 1s and 0s and from my wishes to be free of this world and the war. I also have a avatar that doesn't look like my real self. My girlfriend is trapped in the KH game so I need to free her. It's weird how I might need one of my game character's help and how data is in the real world? Is any of this real or is not? Your and Riku's personality is only based off mine."
Roxas: "Doesn't feel nice to have a existential crisis does it, Sora? I know the feeling being made from you and Ventus."
This cop out story that the universe isn't real but a MMO escape to a dystopian slave community in the real world unexplained BS was in Star Ocean 3 that ruined the entire series, we don't need it in Kingdom Hearts! It takes the magic and emotional story out of KH over the years we played it. Sure, KH is a game to us but lore wise, we pretend it's a magical Disney/Final Fantasy dimension in the universe that needs saving.
Nomura, PLEASE DON'T don't pull a Star Ocean 3 on us because Missing Link and the trailer of KH4 is making is seem so.

Could be? I mean owls do have feathers, but then the two controlling the guards with the feather were clad in all black making the raven theory a bit more plausible.
If this is truly the player, he'll be very sad that Ephemer is already dead. (And in union x, I'm not sure if Ephemer and Skuld knew the player was never possessed but I don't think they knew, so to make it sadder, the player will never be able to apoligize to them for unintentionly hurting them)
No, they never knew the player wasn't possessed the whole time; That's undoubtedly going to cause issues within the story of Missing Link.
I did say its likeley they didn't know the player was possessed but... I haven't been able to catch up to tge story, so can you pkease explain how this is an issue? Just curiouse and I want to understand

If the Astral plane is their nonexistence and our existence, then it's our world, and our world doesn't have KH hearts, so we are the heartless.

The movie part is nothing but rumors currently; Also, Disney owns Kingdom Hearts so they're likely footing a good chunk of the bill.
Man, KH is like my favorite game ever but what the heck happened to it? I liked the main characters. When BBS came out I was upset about the 3 new characters but after getting to know them I fell I. Live with the idea. Things were a bit crazy looking what with the armour and whatnot but i liked it after all. I can’t stand phone games so I wasn’t all that jazzed about playing through Chi but I did my best. In the end I just watched the cutscenes on UA-cam. And that’s the same thing I did with dark roads. Missing link looks interesting but I feel like the Original idea of KH just got lost somewhere. It doesn’t feel the same. Kind of like he’s trying to turn it into some new form of FF. With the real life like people and the realistic cities and stuff. Don’t get me wrong KH3 looks amazing! But I want to stick with the original concept. Travel worlds, stop darkness, help friends. And all these new characters!? It’s a lot to keep up with. I didn’t even know missing link was going to look like this or that all these cutscenes had been available until today. I hate to say it but I miss the Xehanort days. 😂 I need my nostalgia! My friends from a little island that wanted to see other worlds! It just feels different, I can’t explain it but it does. It can’t just be me right?
Man what a shame it is this didnt come to PC or Console. I just have no interest in mobile gaming, everything from the screen to the controls, it all just acts as a giant deterrant to me. I'd have loved this.
Not sure on PC port, but console is definitely not happening.
I'm getting tired of all the reused Disney places😩 leave Olympus alone it has been in every kingdom hearts game so far

Kinda leaves me with a bad aftertaste that you'll have to gacha $50 to get half of Ars Arcanum (Riku's Spirit Trophy) but if people have fun then hell yeah!

To be fair, Kingdom Hearts has rarely done good with talkable NPC's; Besides, this is mobile game 101.
