- In his first Test innings on Aussie soil, Martin Crowe struck an elegant 188, his third Test ton, to put New Zealand into a dominant position in Brisbane, 1985.

"the toughest batsmen I've ever bowled too" - Wasim Akram
When u have a bowler of Wasim's caliber say something like that, you know the batsman was particularly special
Same statement was given by waqar younus also
I love Martin Crowe's back-foot shots. He really pounces on the ball.
From what I've seen through crowe footages, he's a class apart
His batting is very pleasurable to the eyes and heard he was the most popular kiwi cricketer in his time who had a huge aura and to top this all he also fought against the deadly cancer.
RIP crowe 👑
What a great player for New Zealand. RIP Martin Crowe. I would also like to see Richard Hadlee's performance in this game as he too 15 wickets :/
5:20 that's a too much happiness right there for a bowler after getting the guy who scored 188 runs
I need that kind of a mindset to live happily 💖
Elegance!! Look at the purity of that innings
One of the pure greats, poetry in motion, taken too soon
Thanks cricket Australia for posting the video of the genius mind Martin Crowe..
It is the same match where Sir Hadlee took 15 wickets in the match... NZ won by an innings courtesy the performances of these two legends...
This innings and Hadlee’s 15 wickets in the match including 9 in Australia’s 1st innings were brilliant.
An awesome video of a truly great batsman.
Brilliant shots
Martin Crowe was the finest batsman NZ ever produced!!!
Yes he was and Kane Williamson will be New Zealand's greatest at the end of his career.
Legend for his country. Champion
I remember seeing swathes of this series as a young Aussie boy on tv - the Australian team was absolutely terrible at the time and the New Zealanders took full advantage of that with a very, very professional and competent team - Hadlee, Crowe, Reid, Chatfield, Coney - great team that made Australia respect them on Australian soil.
Yes. They had Wayne Phillips, the wicket keeper opening the batting then. Kepler Wessels retired during the mid series complaining of discrimination for being a non Australian in the side, after the first test. They also had some inexperienced batsmen like Robbie Kerr who lost his place soon & some seniors like David Hookes & Greg Ritchie who were not pulling their weight around while playing. In bowling Geoff Lawson & Craig McDermott were burnt out from overwork while Dave Gilbert was mediocre. Bob Holland was 40 plus & effective only in Sydney. Ray Bright was a mere support bowler. The first 5 years after the retirement of Chappell, Lillee & Marsh were the toughest for the Aussies.
@@sidb0206 Good summary.
Despite all these negatives I remember this time quite fondly!
Great Video uploaded Sir
Very underrated!
Super batting
Had there been Kane Williamson and Taylor playing with Martin, would have been unforgetable batsmanship shows from that time.
The definition of changing gears as a top order batsman.... essential ingredient. There's a point at the end of the end of the day where Crowe's aggression has put NZ right on top. The bowling gets a bit slower .... the line is a bit off and Crowes reactions look fast.
Nice cricket
Jeremy Coney was a gem of a captain. Kane Williamson is not even close to him.
No wonder Greg Matthews had a toilet seat thrown at him (when he was going out to bat) when he toured NZ a few months later....
Why, what did he do to deserve that? He did score a century in the Aus 2nd innigs along with Allan Border. He scored another against India in the next series. The last of his tons came against WI in 1992-93, when he said that he'd gladly swap it for 5 wickets instead!
Dutchi Holland serving up fodder
At his best Crowe a step above Kane.
leg spinner was not good - Holland?
He had a bad game. They brought him back at 38 years old for the 84/85 series against the West Indies and his bowling helped Australia win a game I think.
Daily more videos upload plz

You think you know cricket? Based on averages? Guys like Martin Crowe , gavaskar , viv and Barry richards and Miandad were much tougher batsman to bowl to in test then sachin or Lara
