- How to install a pop up sink hole plug, my one locked up and I could't push it down anymore so after attempts at fixing it I found it better to just replace it.

Many thanks. With this vid showing exactly how things are put together (unlike some others) I was able to remove, strip, clean, lubricate and replace the unit with very little trouble. I did try just cleaning the unit intact at first, but even after that, once I dismantled it I found a lot of residual crud inside. Interesting that some say use WD40 and others say that will make things worse over time and you should use grease. I used a little grease and it works like new! I'd just sprayed WD40 on it a few times before but it never lasted long. Who knows how long it will last this time but at least I now know that I'd done everything short of replacing it. Last week it was replacing the air filter on my car that the garage wanted to charge me £70 for and today this! I love UA-cam and particularly the kind hearted people who take the time and effort to post these helpful videos for everyone's benefit. Thanks again.

my one comes out with the plate attached to the mechanism, I can't get the plate off at all and can't find a plate replacement, it measures 42mm diameter
My piston snapped/came apart. The bottom part is stuck in the sink/drain but the top half came out. I dont know how to get it out :(
