Grays are pretty easy to recognize from the shore of the beach. They slowly move back and forth in shallow water with a sandy or gravel base, like mowing a lawn. Although they are about the same size as humpbacks, behavior is very different.
They swim in shallow waters to scrape off the parasitic barnicles that cover all whales. Their behavior of leaping ans splashing is for the same purpose, dislodgin these barnicles.
@@paulhomsy2751 Many whales do as you say, scraping barnacles off. The daily motivation for Greys is to stir up the food source. Many of the tiny critters they eat walk on the sea floor, so they stir up that bottom layer and filter feed the disturbed mix.
In fact, the grey whale (Eschrichtius robustus) is the only surviving member of the family Eschrichtiidae, its closest living relative is the pygmy right whale (Caperea marginata), which is the last surviving member of the family Cetotheriidae, this makes the pygmy right whale and grey whale the only two surviving members of the superfamily Cetotherioidea, this superfamily is most closely related to the superfamily Balaenoidea, which contains the monotypic families Balaenidae and Eubalaenidae, both superfamilies belong to the infraorder Balaenicephalia, which includes all living baleen whales except for rorquals (family Balaenopteridae), which are the sole extant family of both the superfamily Balaenopteroidea and the infraorder Balaenopterocephalia.
He shows a baleen whale eating an orca. You're spitting all this academic bullsh*t out & you don't think that's a problem? Really? You're that ignorant, & spineless yet you expect me to believe you know anything? Wow.
Gray whales can only survive an Orca attack IF they keep moving for once they stop moving it's all over for them. They can't bite an Orca because they're baleen whales and have no teeth. Orcas rarely go after an adult gray whale because it's main weapon is it's tail which can kill an Orca if the delivered blow is in the right place. But a gray whale calf stands no chance against a family group of Orcas who take turns in wearing the calf out until the calf has to stop from sheer exhaustion and then they hold the calf underwater to drown it. All they eat is the calf's tongue and nothing else. Having eaten the calf's tongue they clear off leaving the calf to sink the the ocean floor to become food for other fish.
@@meirsolomon5626 I don't know why they only eat the tongue the same as I don't now why they take baby seals off a beach and then toss them in the air. The Orcas have a cunning mind and will often herd fish into a ball and then smack the fish with their tails stunning them and then they eat the stunned fish. Much easier that way than trying to catch the fish when they're spread out and swimming freely.
Beautiful dinosaurs of the sea let the humans recognise the the devil in disguise and allow the destruction to be honest beyond and above to relent and release❤

What is that supposed to mean? Do you understand english syntax? You need to get off the adderall & take a nap.
Thanks to grey whales for offing orcas that kill dolphins and endangered whales. Humans are also prey to orcas.
Is not true, humans are not Prey to Wild Orcas, not every Orca pod attack Dolphins. We humankind endanger and Kill Whales, Dolphins and Orca's

2nd whale - hold my candle I am next
Also - the grey whale is not a fish
It is a mammal
Thanks you Vietsub
Walvis eat plankton not fish .
He shows a baleen whale eating an orca. That's a real problem.
Orca is the only predator of the Grey whale. Wrong info that there are more predators
Calling it a rival of orca's is complete nonsense.
Tell us why?
Is it that they do not compete for the same prey?
@@Menapho
They do not compete in any way. Grey whale is seldom prey for orca's. Although being prey does not make it a rival.
