Thank you for doing this series. While I'm very familiar with boots myself it's excellent to introduce people I know that see me wearing boots but don't want to put down North of $300+. You explain why boots cost what they do. Instead they are moving up from Nike, Echo, Danner, Timberland, Dr. Martens, etc.
This provides visuals far more than I can provide. I advise a lot of them to try Thursday or try a Red Wing 10877 in the store. But you cover far more variety on this channel.
I would love an entry level series focus on work entry level to provide for them. Otherwise I just need to see if I can get them to watch more than one of your videos since you explain it very thoroughly throughout all 3.

While not a newbie I am far from a expert in higher end boots. Content creators like Teikoh help fill in the gaps for guys like me. This has been a great series Thanks!

I have my eyes set on the loake bedale in maybe their burgundy or Oxblood grain options. I really like brogues especially on derby shoes. Brogues on boots I wasn’t in on it at first but slowly warmed up to the idea.

I own four pairs of Loake Bedales and love them. My feet are wide so they fit me well and break in was quick.

I will mention that the Dalton boot can go on sale fairly deep so it's more in the 300 usd range

This is a great series. I’ve been buying shoes for 25 years, and I am still learning things.

The Thursday Wingtip was indeed one of my first two quality boot picks, along with Jim Green's African Rangers. Mine are the "Color #77". It's a pretty great boot! It's my go-to for formal occasions when I'm in a suit, but also works well in a more casual outfit. Though with jeans it feels just a little too ostentatious for my personal tastes to be in the heavy rotation, making it a choice for those odd days when I'm feeling just a little bit more fancy than usual. And it's very good for that. If I wanted to go over it with a magnifying glass, I think the quality control isn't quite what it could be. The scalloped edges of the wingtips aren't quite as firmly attached as I'd like, there's a spot where the burnishing looks a little uneven. But for the price point, it's more than acceptable.

A shout out for my Meermin wingtip brogues. They are GYW and have a veg-tan leather insole. I bought the for about 160 euros at the time and the break-in was punishing. Now they are some of my most comfortable boots.

In Canada, there are even cheaper Goodyear welted boots in Canada West. $200 will get you a brand new GYW boot and support a local maker. Plus on the used market you can get them for $100-$150 for a couple wears. The cheapest Thursday boot is $300+, I can get red wing boots for almost the same price. Thanks for the great videos!

Yep. VAT and shipping costs can easily bump an entry level into entry luxury category.

Another good tip would be to check the secondary market, if you dont mind a less than pristine boot. I got my cheaney boots that way.

Very informative video! Would also be cool if you make a comparison between your various wingtip boots? What are the difference between boots in different price brackets (Thursday vs Greyson vs truckers…)

Besides where they're made and that there are many different tanneries and therefore qualities of the leather it may be in the construction such as what makes up the mid and insole.
Thursdays for example use a poron insole on most of their boots that may degrade with time but is on a leather midsole and cork filler so it's better for longevity than a pure foam inside.
As you get higher up you'll find full leather insoles that will make the boot a 1 of a kind shaped to you.
Then there's the hands on time by the cobblers and the artistry for brogue

Do you ever review high end boots from dress shoemakers like John Lobb, Edward Green, Saint crispin's etc?
