    Like a lot of people I'm on a health kick in January and trying to lose some weight I put on over Christmas.
    I'd never tried slimming world before but had heard great think and wanted to do something that was sustainable. I couldn't find a video explaining the main principles so thought I would make this video to explain the basic principles of slimming world plus show you an Aldi haul and what I'm eating that week.

    Weekly Meal Plan
    Mon - Breakfast - Asparagus, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, Lunch - Carrot Soup. Dinner - Spicy Chicken, Sweet Potato and broccoli bowl.
    Tues - Breakfast - Weetabix. Linch - Tuna salad. Dinner - Salmon & rice
    Weds - Breakfast - Asparagus, smoked salmon and scrambled egg. Lunch - minestrone soup. Dinner - Turkey Curry.
    Thurs - Breakfast - Raisin wheats. Lunch - Chicken Salad. Dinner - Swedish meatballs with mash
    Fri -Breakfast - overnight oats. Lunch - Minestrone soup. Dinner - veggie chilli
    Sat - Breakfast - Bubble & Squeak. Lunch - Beans on toast. Dinner - Chicken Pasta Bake

    Hi! SW group member here! I think you explained things very well!
    The only thing I would add which can be extremely important to most peoples weightloss...
    It's true that you can eat free and speed food without weighing and with no limit but your appetite. There is a guideline SW offer for portioning. They reccomend everyone fills AT LEAST a third of their plate with speed food. And to reach for speed (before anything else) between meals.
    Some people can lose purely on free food but everyone will have better losses with 1/3 speed and 2/3 free food. It's called speed because it "speeds up your weightloss".

    I am new to this too second week and I think I need a diary for food for the week and scan everything with my app as there are so many different brown breads out there for example I’ve got a lot to learn thanks for adding this video it’s fantastic.

    Great video well explained . The Slimming world books and meetings can be a little confusing when you first start but this video gets you up and running and with the shopping list it helps set up your first week of planning. Keep these video's coming they will definitely keep me on track. 😉

    Like u I didn't want to join class or go online ,..tried so many over the yrs but this plan is the only one I haven't for some reason ?     Great video & explanation but I think the syns for the popcorn may be wrong - depending on the size of bag the sw app is saying between 4 and 4 1/2. Or maybe this bag is smaller - would love to think it is and I'll go and get some myself as I love popcorn. Such a great low syn treat xx

    I was on SlimmingWorld a few years ago I was 27 stone 9lb I lost about 7 stone am now 20stone 7 started a week ago am now 20stone just need to plan and work out my syns as not sure what am aloud and just need to work out my carb weights I need I have rejoined the gym need to start love your videos

    Thank you, great video! I find it difficult with syns as I use them up
    too quickly early in the day. I get cravings at 9pm each night and then it all goes wrong! Thanks.

      I find if I fill myself up more throughout the day with Carbs & protein etc I don't get as hungry :)

      Check out Dr Ekberg on youtube, he will explain why the cravings. You eat too often and the wrong foods. Also Dy Ann Parham has a phenomenal channel.

      Hi Julie, I use either the book or if it's not in the book I search online and can generally find them that way x

      It generally works out at 20 kal is one syn so the pop corn would have been four and a half syns not two xx

    Just like to point out that not all veg and fruit is speed food. Speed food is low density foods like lettuce, tomato, carrots, kale. You can't have avocado, peas, sweetcorn, banana etc as a speed food, these are included in your free foods and avocado is syns.

      From following the principles of slimming world i know generally what is syn free and cooking from scratch helps too. Anything im nit sure on i check my book or search online

      Thank you I'm in Australia and loss why in England, we have so much packages of food I spent two hrs in my supermarket with my syn count,and has taken me a week just to write out my shopping list and some of your receipes for a week lol thank you .I can't buy jaffa biscuits because I ate the lot yesterday .Thank you so much love following your utube cooking .

    I've just ordered the books from eBay after listening to this. So is there just one plan now. I know they used to give the red and green day options. But looks like it's all one plan now which seems much easier!x

    I think I'm getting confused with the healthy extras. It says one healthy extra a and one healthy extra b. ? But if your having an extra easy day I healthy a, and 2 b's?.x

      I’m single and i spend around £25 a week on SlimmingWorld without shopping around to much. When I was married we were spending a little more, maybe £30ish

    Calories in and calories out is the best and most effective long term way to loose weight and keep the weight off. I recommend working out the calories of what you are eating so you aren't dependent on them in the long term.
    "Free food" has calories. If you eat more than you burn you won't loose.

      You can just follow the principles and eat cheaper foods like pasta and veg etc

    Aldi's food is mostly Bio engineered read the ingredients. That's why it's cheap. I would not support them
