You have to keep stopping the track because your hot queues are triggering play. I prefer to switch that off and have play stop when you lift your finger off the hot queue button.
Put slip on and skip to end of the track if you want your hot cues to stop on release without having to stop the track. You could also switch a setting to make the hot cues toggle or hold but incase you like toggle on and want to use them as hold this is another way you can do that.
