The most beautiful Boss From Soft ever made and she will be hard to beat in this regard. Glad to see Romina won a bit more fights than I expected (she was very close to beat Messmer and Bayle as well).

She was better than my expectations.
she is some kind of priest, not a trained warrior, so it is kind of cute that her fighting "style" shows that

If a had nickel for every boss in 2024 that was a person with a centipede for a lower half, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but weird that it happened twice.

The spinning attack on her glaive is called Romina's *purification* , when that's definitely the polar opposite of what she actually does.
Due to this, for some reason I like to think of her as an otherwise perfectly nice lady who doesn't think there's anything wrong with being a half-scorpion-centipede-thing, and doesn't know that the Scarlet Rot 'viciously eats away at life'. She just wants to help out the Kindred of Rot with their mommy issues from Malenia and thinks that she's beautifying the place with her butterflies.

Man, rot isn't a vicious thing. It is not kegare-thing of this game. Rot are actually quite the opposite of stagnation. It would be too obvious if it was the kegare-thing of the game. Martin and From are not believers, rot as a evil thing is an idea from religion.

@@ricardorocha5420Yeah, no, it is. Let's see what the game itself actually says-
"Rot is one of the divine elements of the outer gods, and eats away at life like a *vicious* plague." -Hefty Rot Pot
"Romina discovered a twisted divine element, which she weaved into the *baleful* scarlet rot." - Remembrance of the Saint of the Bud- baleful meaning sinister
"You will witness true horror"- Malenia, implying she sees the Rot as a horror even as she uses it willingly and cognizantly.
This idea of the rot not being that bad is fans reading too much into things without context. They'll bring up the line about the rot symbolising rebirth and decay, conveniently forgetting to mention that *only* the adherents and worshippers of Rot see it as that, and that only the poison incantations actually describe it as this. It isn't. It's a horrible thing dressed up as something that isn't because those afflicted by it want to take comfort in their community. It is the same way as Death is often romanticised in real life to help people come to terms with its existence.
      Plus, it S T I N K S

"eats away at life like a vicious plague"
but, bro, what is a plague? I would say something that is too good at reproduction and it is kind of a problem to others beings.
and we, humans, are this kind of thing, we need to eat life to be alive. we are part of this, another animal, just this.
Life itself is something abhorent, we are being of blood, flesh, many things that have o powerful smell... our way of birth and our ways of death, our ways of reproduction... they are not a cute thing, I would dare to say...
My point is that the idea that rot is a 'vicious thing' seems naive. Humans, beings doomed to rot, tend to perceive this as evil. However, all animals succumb to that, and from that, new life emerges. It is just how things work: without a inner meaning. The world continues its relentless cycle, indifferent (again) to human concepts of good and evil.
Simply put, I believe rot is a kind of power. and a power is not evil or good per se, it is what it is. We do not have gods or magic, I would dare to say. but in real life, we are doomed to rot.. and From says "hey, this kind of view... we do recognize it and take this part of the game to have a tête-à-tête with this" and I do appreciate this invitation from From.
To be clear. The concept of evil or bad does not seem to fit very well in a FS's or GRRM's work.
      and...
      "it S T I N K S"
hey..."Though this results in a pungent odor, some come to find the aroma irresistible."

Not bad. You know when you see a lore expert, when someone starts quoting item descriptions. I agree.@@Count.Saruman

@@Count.Saruman my first reply has not shown... why? then, short writing:
      but bro
I am pretty aware about those things.
but I said this is not kegare, kegare-thing
and if vicious is 'cruel, violent or immoral...' rot it is not that things but the Golden Order might be for example
the game says a lot of things... but "like" something is not something
      and even if
a plague it is not a bad thing per se.
for humans might be sometimes... but a world does not belong to anyone. if one kind will perish, this is how evolution works
and From has made this before, the only I remember: Kalameet has two eyes, but the description says "one-eyed black dragon Kalameet"
From invites us to read and read the world indeed, that how I see their works, not just game, something that might be like D. Quixote, quite a classic, something that speaks about humanity today and maybe as long as humanity exist
and our life itself seems a lot more like how rot works than anything else in this game, since we are animals after all. so... rot is baleful indeed... how distant our life is from that? how we eat, reproduce and die... not cute and kind of sticky
horror, sinister and a lot of those things have be used in art to express how life can not be in a single way. Frankenstein might be a really good example
the context of the game without thinking about our world itself it might end on simple readings
if with math things can go very complicated very soon, why good art would be simple?
Again, Martin and From, both of them, have a writing that speaks with our world and things that are evil, like some kind of disney movie, it is too simple.
but i swear... i am not Gowry! he is too naive about rot too.
