      I actually was a contractor that installed and buried the valve. Really surprised me.

    Mine is leaking at the point the shower stem connection. Only leaks when I put the shower head on. I have the wall opened up on the back side and can feel the drip. It doesn't leake when the shower head is off though. Any fix ideas?

    I would check the sharkbite fitting it could simply not be pushed down right or cut to short. We have to stop hating on sharkbite. Plumbing is evolving it is part of the business. I have seen every type of fitting collapse.

    I love it how people blame the shark bite fitting when I have never had one fail in 30 years. so many times people either don't deburr or don't insert it far enough. I assume the later in this case. I always put a line on the pex because its so easy to think you pushed it in far enough. So when I don't see a line on the pipe its usually not pushed in far enough.

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  Рік тому +1

      Oh I don’t mind sharkbite fittings. I use them from time to time. But I like them to be accessible. The way the wall was built was the biggest issue.

      @MichaelMantion Рік тому

      @@ThatFixItGuy I trust shark bite more than a sweat copper pipe connection, those . I use Shark bite all the time behind walls. Again never had an issue because I use them correctly and deburr copper and insert to the correct depth. If you have to use copper then a crimped fitting is ok.

      @@ThatFixItGuy Because they work and they are quick and easy. Cost used to be a factor but the new Evo Pex are more cost effective. No special tools needed. I use them all the time.

    Not pushed in far enough. It moves because the shark bites rotate.
