To my mind, Agnetha and Frida are the best female vocal harmony duo of all time. Their voices are perfect together; the mezzo and the soprano complement each other without fighting for space on the staff.

I remember a documentary about them where they showed the ladies were exactly one octave apart with their vocals which is where they get that perfect harmony.
The odds of that are almost impossible.

ABBA - is the best popband in history! Their music is timeless and versitale, have got so many kind of styles. I am from Sweden, close to Gothenburg 🎉 My favoritesong with Abba is hard to choose - for the moment I think it is ”The Name Of The Game” or ”I’ve Been Waiting For You”. You can’t find a better storyteller than Agnetha and her heartbreaking voice in songs like ”My Love, My Life” S.O.S., The Winner Takes It All, Slippering Through My Fingers or One Of Us. Cheers!

I couldn't agree more and I have been asking for years why that line is so special. I even saw a video with Frida back stage (older) singing that line as others performed the song. It has affected me forever. Something about those notes. Thank you.

It's not 200 but over 400 million records sold worldwide estimation also reported recently by the BBC in late.'21 and even more lately stated by BPI and still heading .Streamings are also solid strong and insistent for Abba from younger audiences and that's phenomenal for a band that was formed in 1972.Cheers.

Being born in 1970, I literally grew up with ABBA , it also happens I like the music and have all of the albums. I remember a documentary, which was released around the time of the Mamma Mia musical, and of course Benny and Bjorn were going through the music , and as a result they voiced displeasure at how complicated they made things with the arrangements. In another documentary, it was noted by both Ladies that Benny and Bjorn, never told them what part of the vocal line to sing , but let them ( Ladies ) experiment, and it always seem to work out, but that obviously the boys had an idea of what sound and of course they new the vocal ranges to a tee..

They have a cult following and soooooo many hits. No one actually admits they love them - they just do. Like the Bay City Rollers lol

In 2022, ABBA built a theater in London where you can watch an ABBA "concert." The tech trick is that the band members wore movement-recognition body suits and computer images were crafted for each member. So the end result is you are watching a 3D concert projection recording of the band as if they were still in their prime (20-30's). Like a live concert, but not. P.S. Listen to The Winner Takes It All!

To my mind the best group ever. Ever since winning the European song contest way back in the 70's their talent has shone through. World Wide Fame and every song a no1 through decades their talent is phenomenal. The list is long but you should listen to more.

People think of Benny and Bjorn as songwriters.
They’re so much more than that…
They are arrangers, comparable to Burt Bacharach…
They have the unusual capacity to hear the music in their head, and find a way to make it a reality…

No question, for me my favourite song is 'The winner takes it all'. Im also fond of 'The day before you came' but I prefer the cover by Blancmange.

First time hearing winner takes it all was from a local rock band called storm project with lead guitarist Raven Storm who did that song using a craven guitar double neck and made some great guitar solos the unique thing they did it metal style

They opened the piano for the same reasons why every pianist opens the concert grand for concerts. It makes the sound louder and a little bit more 'open'. Another reason is that it is
much easier to record or amplify the opened piano with microphones because you can place them just on the acoustically right spot.
Every sound engeneer hates closed pianos or grand pianos. (OK, today we have Electric Pianos, but why do all the famous pianists use these old-fashioned normal concert grands???)

I don't know why, but all that hair flicking about toward the end of the video to Dancing Queen always reminds me of a Timotei advertisement. 😁

I recall watching a tribute act for ABBA on British TV, where they had half a dozen “girl groups” recreating their songs.
Two dozen girls couldn’t get within an inch of those ladies’ pitch…
