Watching straight dudes glow during their ABBA reactions is my thing right now lol.
I love ABBA! My late husband was a tattooed biker type man who looked rough but had the heart of a teddy bear. He was my best friend and partner for 23 years until his passing. ABBA was his favorite band and he traveled to many European countries to see them live in concert. He said that they were the best concerts he had ever been to, surpassing all the great bands from the 70's including Janice Joplin. He was a true ABBA fan and so am I! Thanks for another great reaction video!
Listen to Abba Gold from start to finish. It’s life changing
This album is a 'universal treasure" to pop music domain.
It's definitely life-changing, I vividly remember the first time I listened to it when I was about 6-7 years old. Those sounds went straight to my heart and haven't left since then. They're the best.
I first heard it when I was 30. I’d heard several of the songs on the radio growing up, but for some reason they never made much of an impression on me. Listening to them as an adult, with fresh ears, I thought “THIS is what I was hearing all that time???!!!” It blew my mind and made me an instant fan.
@@frakte 😊!
When she goes into the bridge: and I'll be there when you arrive.... - your heart melts! Her voice is so velvety ❤
And in the middle of it all, that dramatic line "The sight of you will prove to me, I'm still alive", I imagine the two lovers running into each other's arms.
I love zeppelin floyd sabbath alice cooper...but I also absolutely love ABBA....the most perfect of pop band's ❤️
Thumbs up to u!with all of ma heart!
Same
This has one of the best bridges I have ever heard - when it comes, I just melt into it like it’s a big fluffy cloud.
The SUPER TROUPER is what they call a Follow Spotlight, that's why 'Super Trouper Lights are going to find you'
The Super Trouper follow spotlight is a particular type of light but the spotlight used in this video is a CCT silhouette follow spot
Frida's third verse: 'So I'll be there...'. Goosebumps!
Super Trouper album is their masterpiece.
It's like a warm blanket, isn't it? Whenever you're having a bad day, put some ABBA on, it's medicine for the soul.
Absolutely.
There are about 8 exceptional Frida leads you haven't done yet. Of course all her leads are great. Her ability to go from ballad to lullaby to show tune is incredible. After abba she rocked Fire and Ice in a show she hosted. There is nothing she can't do. She was and is one of the best vocalists to walk the planet. And then there is Agnetha wonderful in a different way. How lucky that fate put them together and that they had voices which were not only word class but blended they way they did.
Abba ❤ Frida shines here with her beautiful voice 😍
this year marks 50 yrs since ABBA won Eurovision song contest with Waterloo ❤❤❤ ABBA was fortunate enough to see ABBA live in Melbourne Australia Sidney Myer Music Bowl March 1977
They won in my hometown. Sadly it was ten years prior to my birth, so naturally I missed it.
The entire Super Trooper album is amazing. You can’t go wrong with any song.
Yes, it's "Frida" - and, may I say: I'm SO GLAD you've finally got into some of the Frida-led tracks. Don't get me wrong, ABBA is my favourite band of all time and I absolutely adore Agnetha, but Frida was always slightly less recognised than Agnetha, despite her being the lead on so many of their hits and a key part of that "third voice" they both created together. Great to see a contemporary reactor acknowledging the pure power of Frida's vocals. ABBA is the one band where you can't rank any single member ahead of the others: they're all absolutely integral to that uniquely rare wall of sound.
Very well said 👏
I love that Frida got the lead on this one
No autotune - when they could sing...
The big spot light at the start is a model called “Super Trouper“
Didn't know that, thanks.
It's not, actually, the Super Trouper spotlight is a helluva lot bigger (I've seen it in an ABBA museum.) If you look at the Wikipedia page that he's looking at they give the actual model used.
This is my favourite ABBA song, and there is some major competition in that back catalogue. Despite the fact this was a huge hit on its release, as you highlighted from the Wikipedia entry, I *do* agree its underrated - when you consider how much attention "Waterloo" and "Dancing Queen" still get to this day, "Super Trouper" should get far more recognition in the present day for being just a sublime piece of pop music mastery.
I can never hear "Super Trouper" without getting a warn feeling all over, and being taken back to that nostalgic time when I was a preteen and also remembering that this was one of my mother's favourite songs back then. I didn't appreciate it as much then, but since I grew into adulthood and got past the scepticism about ABBA that many here in the UK had during the late 80s and early 90s (when the band were seen by the young and by music industry snobs as 'cheesy') and finally began to appreciate the musicality and craft, this has grown to be one of my favourite songs of that period.
You can’t help but smile whenever ABBA is played. As a young girl I remember my sister and I and a couple of friends used put on ABBA concerts and every song now is a beautiful and spirit raising trip to nostalgia land
2 days ago it was exactly 50 years ago since ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest and started their international career❤
ABBA was very, very special.
Was ?
They releasedatum an album 2021
And Are.
If you haven't already... check out their Voyage album (2021).
Indeed.Still are big deal.Evergreen.
YOU HAVEN'T DONE ABBA "FERNANDO" YET!!!!!
He hasn't done a lot of fantastic ABBA songs yet, nut we still have them to look forward to hopefully.
I Love when they used this song in Malcolm In The Middle and the youngest brother was dancing with the elderly babysitter to this song 💃💃
Be patient. He'll get there!
Yess... Thats great suggestion
Yeah, Fernando is one of their very best.
Die hard fan of Abba since the 70's! ✌
I'm a rocker by nature, but I have such a spot in my heart for ABBA. Everything about them is frigging amazing!
This is seriously one of my favorite reactions of all time. Just seeing you bliss out on this shiny pop confection is so great.
Best selling album in the UK in 1980 and 4th best selling single. Pop Royalty ❤
Their comeback song is great, “Don’t Shut Me Down”.

'what an angelic vocal,...by the end of it i'm just melting"
Same here!Even after 44 years (since i first heard that song) i many times still get chills.
When this song came out in 1980 - I wore it out. I remember declaring "I'm hearing the future!" This song is a master class - and then, the 2nd song on this Album is "The Winner Takes it All " Need i say more. Frida and Agnetha's voices are otherworldly. I love your raw reactions. It's so great to see the younger generation experience the ABBA phenomenon. And mind you, back in the day - the "music establishment "panned ABBA - icluding Rolling Stone Magazine. They (the establishment) were so out of touch. Another Frida classic I recommend is "Fernando!" - you'll be lifted.
7:36 Frida ❤❤ I love this part ❤❤
My favourite ABBA song - thanks for reacting to it at last
Anni-Frid is very beautiful! Amazing!!!
ABBA was one of the most successful international groups of all time.
Pure unadulterated TALENT.
BEST ⭐ POP ⭐ EVER ⭐ MADE! 😃
❤🅰️🅱️🅱️🅰️
❤️🇨🇱🤗✌️👍
thank you for this video and return with your reaction and comments to ABBA songs
I was one of those who request these song,
when You did "The winner takes it all" long time ago
"Super trouper" (1980)
was the nine and last single #1 to ABBA in UK ; and it was the #1 (with the album too) the day than the iconic John Lennon was murder
and is the second most selling ABBA song in UK
(only behind Dancing Queen)
It's the opening track in Their seventh album "Super Trouper" , that was #1 too in UK and several countries of all continents
This album included the most heartbroken song
"The winner takes it all" ,
it shows how versatily ABBA is, two songs different in style and lyrics and lead singer, and worldwide hit too
in "Súper Trouper" you can hear clear the brunette Frida amazing sweet as a lead singer, the blonde Agnetha fantastic in second voice (as could see specialy in the second verse of the official video), and a beautiful melody with power and catchy chorus (with 'a capela' parts)
"Super Trouper" is in my Top10 of ABBA songs.
and my Top5 of Frida as lead voice in ABBA songs
(in fact, is My favourite with Frida leads in ABBA)
Another great song with Frida in lead voice
wich have an official video is
"Knowing me knowing You" (1976/1977)
a worldwide hit and classic heartbroken song
and another greatest and classic ABBA song is
"Thank you for the music"
with the blonde singer Agnetha in lead voice
See you in the next video to ABBA songs
My best regards to You from
Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷
South America
My favorite Abba song.
One of my favorite ABBA songs! But it's soooo hard to pick favorites - they're all so damn good! They make us Swedes proud! 😍
They mastered it alright, many times with many great songs. Try my favourite - "Thank You for the Music"
Even metalheads love ABBA ❤
Sssshhh!Don't tell anyone,it's not ''proper"(lol!).except we know many many do reaaally love them.Sometimes a guilty pleasure is more pleasant when it's guilty isn't it?☺
Really true !!! Lots of metal bands (and single artists) are producing ABBA song covers. They are probably the most metallized authors in absolute. That's proof metalheads love ABBA, Just try putting the words "ABBA" and "metal" in your UA-cam search box and a new world will open up to you
The Sex Pistols only hade cassette band in their tour bus - ABBA.
@@JustWickedSwede Yes indeed it was the '70s collection 'Abba Greatest hits".An iconic album. Also Nirvana had ABBA ''Gold" on repeat as was stated while touring in the '90s.Both Kurt and David fell for them.
One of your best reactions... and it happens to be for one of my favorite ABBA songs. You'd definitely love Chiquitita and Fernando as have already been mentioned.
He did ir before "Chiquitita"
not yet "Fernando"
There are just no bad ABBA songs. Glad you enjoy them so much...wish I had a chance to see them live.
Great reaction! Super Trouper is one of my favourites too. Also on this album is one of ABBA's lesser known songs, Andante Andante, which is my all time ABBA favourite (hint). Actually, there are loads of great tracks on this album. ABBA was one of those bands that just kept getting better and more mature.
Andante andante is gorgeousness
Another great track on this album is "Andante, Andante". It wasn't a huge hit, I'm not even sure if it was released as a single, but I used to play it over and over again as a kid, and it would always put a lump in my throat every single time I listened to it for some reason. Still not exactly sure why. Those beautiful vocals with the guitar hypnotised me...
Mama Mia!!!
Great reaction Salvo!! I've loved this album as long as I can remember (came out in 1980, I was born in '78 - my parents played this one often!!) The whole album plays like a 'greatest hits' collection - there is that many great songs on it!!
Highly recommend: Lay Your Love On Me, The Piper, Our Last Summer, Andante Andante... (you already did The Winner Takes It All) - The Piper has been my #1 forever...it's a bit 'darker' than many of the popular ABBA songs! Cheers!
HAPPY HAWAII is one of many favourite songs from abba I love
Yes good song and the same melody as why does it have to be me. It also is in cartoon version. They were goi g to make an ABBA cartoon and Happy Hawii and Money Money Money were made but then they stopped for some reason but they are kind of neat to see in cartoon version
Check out my fav: KNOWING ME, KNOWING YOU and don't miss FERNANDO and S.O.S.
Knowing Me Knowing You is ridiculously wonderful. The Name of the Game, too!
You need to listen to Dancing Queen, Honey Honey, Knowing Me Knowing You, Fernando, Does your mother know, Lay all your love on me, Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie (full version), Voulez Vous, One of Us, Fernando, Take a chance on me, Angel Eyes, When all is said & done, SOS, Money Money Money. Just listen to them all!
Best band ever
Great Reaction! 😁 ABBA the best Pop-Band of the World! 🤩🤩🤩
Again. So VERY VERY VERY GOOD ❤❤❤❤❤
I get my first ABBA-record when i was 12-years old for christmas gift and that was in the year of 1982, i´m 56-years today and still love ABBA....
It is really nice to see a reactor do his own research and not asking viewers to educate them. Bonus points for you. ABBA Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny, Anni-Frid (AKA Frida) the FRID is like freed, like Frida. The magnificence of their talent is beyond words and then the 3rd voice coming out of the two women is unheard of. it doesn't hurt anyone to look at them. Two magnificent looking women with kind hearts and decent souls. If you read about Frida's life you will cry for her but admire her strength. She has been through hell many times.
Didn’t know this about Frida. Thanks for the tip
ABBA.
EVERYONE’s guilty pleasure.
One always thinks an ABBA song is their very best until they hear the next one 😁😄🤩🏅
This song is beautiful♥️Love every ABBA song♥️♥️💖
Andante. Andante is a brilliant stand out track on this album as well. You should react to that one
Love this angelic song. One of my favorites from ABBA.
ABBA is life🥲👊😇😏
My favorite ABBA song, for any mood.
You should check out ABBA's "Knowing Me Knowing You"
They're Wonderful !!
This was the first song I heard from ABBA, and also was the same time I saw something called CD for the first time which has music and rainbow in a disc. You can't imagine the thrill and excitement it brought to me when I was a teenager. I had never heard something like this before, I was so enchanted! This song still remains my number 1 favorite song of ABBA.
FAVORITE ABBA SONG! I catch grief about that. They have great songs, and many of them, but this one gives me goosebumps ON TOP OF my goosebumps!
I've seen them live in concert
I was feeling down so the doctor told me to take two ABBA songs every day 🐈⬛🐈🫂♥️
It was fun to see you react! "Underrated", I think that person meant the song is so much better than what it was it was credited for. Your reaction clearly proved that. ❤ Thanks for making me smile.
What a band !!! Love it 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
You should definitely check out their song the Visitors.
I just LOVE ABBA! Can't get enough of them! ❤❤❤❤😂😅
Music for all eternity
So many good songs by them
I can't stop going back and rewatching all of Salvos ABBA reactions. It makes me so happy - did it yesterday and doing it again today. I need more lol. I love seeing the joy and excitement of people reacting to them and their catchy tunes (I do it also with BeeGees and Queen reactions too). Please do more ABBA reactions. Ring Ring always used to be my favourite song of theirs as a child in the 80's (honestly I love them all now) and I don't think anyone has reacted to it yet. Hugs from Oz
Careful. Once you’re bitten you’ll never be the same. 🕺🏼🕺🏼
"That's some distinguished company." Yes, Abba is. 😀
I feel like ABBA brings out the little kid in people. Their music just makes you 10 again, it renews your sense of wonder and fun with no worry about being cool or aggressive. You just sit there and bounce up and down, smiling.
A serotonine injection,it makes u feel again a carefree teen,no worries,...as if it's a deceptively wonderful world.i once spotted a comment kinda saying 'back at the time we didn't need prozak, cause we had Abba"lol.
You should listen to Knowing Me Knowing You! 😊
Play that bass Rutger Gunnarsson! GOLD!! RIP bass man.
I absolutely love your joy 😄 in discovering these great tunes 🎶🎧🎵🎷🥁🎸
This is my favorite ABBA song. Watching you enjoy it, Sal, brings back memories how I felt listening to it.
Best song by ABBA imo ❤--
Loved your reaction btw
Perfect reaction and as probably most ABBA fans would concur, I have your sort of reaction every time I hear this song. Maybe not outwardly with others around, but, internally totally getting into each and every moment of this perfect slice of pop bliss, and when I do listen on my own I usually can’t resist and have to join in with the “su-pa-pah, tru-pa-pah”. So glad you appreciate ABBA and the way Benny and Bjorn were (are) true architects of music design and construction who managed to build so many gorgeous structures of song utilizing the tools of melody, harmony, irresistible hooks, clever lyrics and technical prowess when it came to the art of studio production. There is a reason ABBA is probably more known today than at the height of their commercial success in the 70s and 80s and it’s due to the timeless quality of their music which will never sound dated. ❤ABBA❤
❤❤❤
I read you did saw Voyage in London you lucky boy....
@@alexioverdo5225 I did see the “Voyage” show last June when I was in London. I also saw ABBA themselves live in concert in Boston when I was in high school on October 3, 1979.
@@jerrycote659And in Boston?!Oh wow!
Btw 1978/1979,what a year to be a teenager!
Love ABBA. They're so often like danceable Chopin. And this song, by two guys whose first language is not English, has a lyric with a line ending in "Glasgow"...which Bjorn proceeds to rhyme successfully. Showoff. Glorious...
Salvo, my man. It all begins and ends with Dancing Queen. Regarded by many as one of the most perfect songs ever written and performed. A thing of beauty.
Such a good song. Huge in many countries. Went nowhere in others.
What I like about ABBA is that they knew how to use synths. They werent children with a new toy - having synth dominate their sound like so many acts of that period did. They were truly pioneers of synth.
One you might not have heard yet- Thank You for the Music. You'll love it. ❤
ABBA is a once in a generation band that just knew how to create incredibly infectious music that makes you feel so good. It's so awesome to see you reacting to their music with such joy Salvo.
Thank you very much. Keep doing Abba, please. Big kiss from Portugal. Ana
My favorite Abba tune. It has the same joy ELO's Mr. Blue Sky has.
One of my favorites!
That drop is absolutely legendary🔥🔥🔥
Su PAPA, Tru PAPA 😂😂😂
Really good to see you back bud, love your open mind to music
They did this live in 81 on Dick Cavett meets ABBA. Very small backup band and singers. It's amazing. Every bit as good as the studio version. Those girls could drop into perfect ABBA harmony at the drop of a hat. The clip or the whole little mini concert is on YT and will blow your mind. BTW Bjorn wrote these lyrics while on their last tour in 79 about the wife after Agnetha. At the time of the Dick Cavett concert both couples had broken up. The girls stick tight together and apart from the guy's.
You look like you are hugging the song!! Love all your reactions
ALWAYS awesome, articulate, heartfelt reviews! Next one? LAY ALL YOUR LOVE ON ME! The lyric video has exploded to around 36 million views since it was launched a year or so ago! Phenomenally popular! More than most new songs.
A perfect example of a 'complete' mellow pop music gem and a No1 smash from a gr8 No1 smash album the ABBA way.
Love ABBA! This is one of my many favorites of theirs!!! I was born in 1973, a year after ABBA formed, I remember my parent's (especially my mom) listening to them so because of her, I got hooked on them at a young age! I remember listening to their tapes and pretty much wearing them out at that young age!
The record starts with Frida's angelic voice and Agnetha's beautiful harmonies.
You know from the beginning what you're getting into.
The game is over right from the start.
