Thank you for your video! Maybe you may reply, how to import MD clothes to Daz with thickness of the garment, with opportunity deduct of part clothes, for example to redye some details (when OBJ is not like 1 full object without opportunity changing part of it), and seams without any distance between details?
Heyyy, thank you so much for the tutorial, amazing script! I know this super late but I have a question: everything works wonderfully but I'd like to parent the animation to an avatar so it follows the avatar's head movements. But nothing moves (translations and rotations). From what I understand, the 1st obj (the xxxxx_0000) is moving and parented but all the morphs do not respond to the parenting and stay in the same place - so on their respective frame, the object is shown on its original place. How can I parent the whole sequence to the avatar? Thank youuu!
Thanks for the video! I tried repeat after you step by step, but unfortunately I don’t know how to create an animation without any avatar in MD or CLO. Does anybody know how to do that?
Hey, I know this video is old but I have a question. Everytime I import my obj sequence ( I followed this tutorial to the T) the garment is always late. I am trying to import an animated obj from CLO into Daz to hopefully make the final animation render in Daz but the obj always move about 1.5 second late. I have tried every different combination like importing the sequence starting from various frames and even saving the walking animation from Daz as joint motion in CLO. Please share any insights you have 🙏
Hi Rian, it's not a phenomenon I'm familiar with. If it's a constant offset, as in say 30 frames late, I would try shifting the keyframes of the garment (or the figure) and see if it stays in sync. If that's the case, make a note of the offset and export starting at a later frame. It sounds like the transition frames from the A pose might be at fault. If it does not stay in sync despite an offset, perhaps the frame rates are different somewhere? I hope you can work it out.
@@WPguru hi thanks for replying. Yes I think that’s the issue too because if I use a collada avatar I’ve noticed the garment is not positioned perfectly in line with the avatar but the thing is, I know ideally I would want to use collada but there are always issues with my collada file. For example, I imported the collada with hair, brows, and anatomical elements. In Clo/MD when I hit play the hair, brows, and anatomical elements always wonder off to the side and move on their own. And that’s after I fitted and parent everything to the figure. I’m thinking if I can fix that all my issues will be resolved. Any idea on how to fix that? Appreciate the help.
@@PlataInvierno There are more pieces to the puzzle than this video though. I only focus on how to use the script, I cover the whole Daz to MD and back to Daz workflow in a lengthier video that may help shed some light: ua-cam.com/video/oELyP6jtSCQ/v-deo.html In essence, Collada doesn't work well, use an MDD sequence instead. Don't export items that are not necessary for the draping (like eyebrows, hair, anatomical elements, textures, hands that could catch on the garments, etc). Hope the other video helps.
This method that you have explained works very well, but I have a problem, that maybe you can help me: once I have the clothes in Daz, ¡how do I make them, part of the genesis that I am using, and that I want to export to Unreal? the alembic format is not very stable for me to import into unreal .... help !!!! thanks thanks!!!!
Hi Graciela, I'm familiar with the process, but I don't know how this works between DAZ Studio and Unreal Engine. I've tried the DAZ to Unreal Bridge last year and it combined the character and the clothing automatically, with varying degrees of success. Try that and see if it works. Thank you so much for the coffee 😍
Hi, great tutorial. Thank you so much. When i add clothes sequences to Daz (animation i export from daz-> put to MD-> wearing the clothes with animation-> export to sequences-> add to daz), and i add an avatar-> animation it, clothes always out of the body.:(. how i can fix it? or do you have any tutorial about it? Thanks in advance.
Hi Darja, there’s a link in the description for the script. Bringing textures from MD to DAZ Studio involves a lot of steps, I’ll make a video about that soon.
Hi sir, please also explain how to save it, I tried to import the obj sequence into a clothing animation, but after I save it and reopen it the animation doesn't move. thank you
Thanks for your good tutorial~~~ I tried this in DAZ4.15pro, but found that: If the obj sequences are too long( 6800+frames), the DAZ will crash~~~ but that doesn't happen when I import a short length sequence like 100 frames~~ 🤕
Wow, that is long indeed. I have a feeling it’s probably running out of memory, as each frame of the sequence is imported as full geometry data. Try splitting it up into chunks of 2000 frames or so. You can try using multiple instances on DAZ Studio while you work to make the process more efficient: www.versluis.com/2021/02/daz-second-instance/
Yes that should work as well. I suppose it's easier to animate a morph with a keyframe directly in DAZ Studio, but if you ever need to do this in an external application, then you can use an OBJ sequence to create the same effect in this manner.

File - Save As - Scene will do the trick in DAZ Studio. It will save all objects and animations in your scene.

Is there a way to get these from Daz to Iclone?
I don’t know I’m afraid, I don’t use iClone.

Regardless, this may be a way to start using particle effect that can export sequence obj to Daz, from Storm3d
