I'm pretty sure that cats are playing their education role here, chasing other pets or small animals could be a serious problem for bully or any other terrier breed.
Bull terriers are super energetic and very stubborn and not for the faint hearted 😂they can be an absolute nightmare as young puppies with their relentless chewing.... they do end up getting disowned a lot because people don’t do their research , but a well trained bull terrier can be an absolute joy to own with their clown like behaviour and playful nature
I don’t disagree with your comments. I have a lot of experience with this breed and with other breeds as well. Often ppl don’t put any time into researching breeds before they take the plunge. This accounts for the number of dogs who end up in rescue groups and shelters.
@@workingbullterrierskennel Look at how many people get Jack Russells, thinking they're small, cute, short haired. Easy, right? WRONG!! Unless you can be actively engaged with your JR throughout the day, this is not a breed for the faint of heart. I think terriers, in general, need to be interacted with, because they're incredibly smart, but their genetic makeup is hunting. You can forget the nice backyard, because your JR is going to be digging holes. Terriers will stay focused if you can figure of what drives them.
Super video and good tips, I have been training our boy for a few years now - and have some success in sit, stay, down etc, and release commands. But on walks he still focussed on anyone to meet them , he pulls quite a lot. My strategy has been to stop as soon as he pulls and puts tension on the leash.. I periodically reward when he walks close by. He is fine in our garden and only pulls when we go out..
Bull Terier are special they need to see why and what’s in for them. I hv trained many and bull Terier are very intelligent and won’t do unless they see why and what’s in it for them 😅… patience …
Probably everything you have tried failed. This is not because you did anything wrong ,it is because what works with other breeds ,most of the time doesn't work with Bull Terriers. We will publish a video on the matter very soon. This is something that most new Bull Terrier owners need help with. Stay tuned!
@@workingbullterrierskennel The puppy is 12 weeks now. He is still biting and lunging. I have not ever had a biting problem like this with any other dog breed I have worked with. I have trained many dogs, but none quite like this. The vet says it is too risky to take them outside. I have been using treats with him and I use the leash to help prevent him from biting quite as much. A video on dealing with a biting frenzy would be nice. Right now, I use the leash to keep some distance between his mouth and my flesh when he gets in that mood, I use treats with or without a command to try to redirect him from biting, it doesn’t always work. He isn’t like this all the time, sometimes he is in a sweet mood and doesn’t get mouthy when I pet him and he gives love eyes right back.
@@cameronbourke4252 The biting is still there and it’s safe to say that I will never be a hand model. 🙃 I have learnt to keep the training sessions and play sessions super short to avoid overstimulating the puppy to avoid any biting issues. The treats are helpful. The more desirable the treat the more likely he tends to listen when I ask him to do something, he doesn’t always, if he doesn’t listen to verbal command I use the leash and food lure hidden in my hand to his face to lure him into position. If I suspect that he might bite, I cover up the exposed skin I expect he will aim for incase my leash correction isn’t fast enough or the treat doesn’t work.
As long as the owner knows what to do but i dont know a thing about these dogs i have! They very much run my life as i HAVE TO KEEP THEM SEPERATED. cause the girl terrier grabbed on the chihuahua and wouldnt let go... twice. So we seperated them and now they run our lives

The cats hanging out during this video just kill me! Totally unphased by these Bull Terriers.

Many people get a dog for the wrong reasons. And as you said they don't put any time researching breeds.

Anyone know how to deal with English bull terrier puppy nipping and biting?

We have the same issues with our 8 week old. How are you getting along now?
