My biggest tip for a bull terrier puppy is that everyone should know that you’re getting a hyper three year old trapped in a dog’s body. They don’t act like normal dogs and do things you wouldn’t think dogs would do. The best thing I did for my mbt pup was add evening socialization as part of his routine at day one. He came from a breeder that had over 12 family members living in the house and he was the pup everyone grabbed to snuggle and play with, so I decided to continue it. Almost every evening for the first few weeks I made an effort to take him somewhere whether that be a family member’s or friend’s house, or I made sure someone came over to my house. So every night he played and explored in a controlled environment. He had a majority of his vaccines when I got him so we would even go to low dog traffic patios. It helped me too b/c it would tire him out for the night so everyone got good healthy sleep and it helped him become such a friendly and confident dog. I also started training “eyes” and “sit” from day one. My profile picture is taken from mastering “sit” day two he was with me. The minute he was eligible, I put him in an all levels obedience class. His confidence in me and himself has done nothing but grown.
Was raised with bullies, me and the missus just bought our house and will be picking up our first bully in a couple of weeks. Thank you for these amazing resources!
My BT male is being dropped off on Monday! I am so psyched I've waited for a year before I made a decision to extend our small family. Thanks for the great content please keep it up! 🥰
my bully dont give a shit.she has her own mind . and shes lovely to every one and loves all dogs . you can see her playing with our big germ shep in my vids. great vid guys
The recipe for a healthy, happy, English Bull Terrier, both standard, and mini: Raw diet, raw meat and veggies! 🥗 🥩 Exercise! A minimum of 3 hours a day, at least 1 hour a day after 3-5 years. Obedience! Starts ASAP! As early as 12 weeks old! You must train your bully in a social setting with other dogs and their owners! This actually is a great video, well done! And thanks Great Britain for sending us such an awesome dog! Greetings from New England!
@@Paul-214 4 month old is okay, if getting a EBT from a rescue, I highly suggest you take it into real consideration and make sure you know its history, sometimes getting a EBT from a rescue can be a real nightmare if the bully has issues, meaning make sure you can handle those issues before making that decision, this breed isn't an ordinary breed, trust me. Has it been checked for deafness (not just all-white coated pups), is there AKC and NKC paperwork? (legitimate paperwork) are all shots updated? Will you be home all day the first year of bringing home your pup? Will you be financially able to afford medications if allergies are a problem? To put that question into perspective, I've spent about 35-50k on a raw custom diet from the local butcher, vet bills, animal dermatologist, obedience training, as well as a daily dog walker for the weekdays while i'm at work. Obedience training is a must, there's no way around it. Fixation is a no-go on small animals (cats, squirrels, etc). Bottom line: get a book on the breed before you jump in, and be 100% sure you are ready, they are a huge responsibility, and need to be in the right environment. I share this, because 10/10 times you find a bully in a rescue, it's because its original owner had absolutely no business having one, and had no idea what they were getting themselves into. This isn't a breed you can stick in a crate all day, not that ANY breed should be stuck in a crate all day, but the EBT becomes EXTREMELY attached, and can have EXTREME separation anxiety. Anywho, best of luck. Try to cram as much knowledge on the breed as possible, the more you know the better, and best wishes! Once you get a bully, there's no turning back, I can never imagine ever not being around them, best breed ever!
Also plenty of roughage. Rusks are good. I used to make my own, by placing slices bread in the oven until it was toasted through. It's more economical too. Beef bones keep them busy. Their anal gland can get blocked, and is not a pleasant job to relieve it. And vets are very expensive, so it is worth learning how to do it. Rubber gloves essential. If you see your dog rubbing its backside along the ground, that is the first sign.
Very wise info, thanks for sharing. Only with our second bully we found raw food was so important. We would boil root veg also. At 7 we got told our Baxter had 2 months to live with ex-endive drugs due to kidney failure. Wife researched and we chucked out all the vet and supermarket dog food. Raw tripe and a selection of raw foods. No beef. 48 hours was a different dog vet had to check and re check we brought the same dog back in as bloods looked from a different dog. 3 country’s travelling we had our glorious boy for another 7 years. Finally passing at 14. It’s taken over a year to get over him and only now are thinking we could get our 3rd bully
i never had success with discipline and my first bull terrier. Positive reinforcement was the only thing that worked. I just got a 4 month old EBT this week. she's been such a good girl but having a 13 year old ebt and this pup has created new difficulties. so far the biggest challenge is feeding them both.
I lost my staffy after 11yrs recently . We are picking up our bull terrier pup on 7th Jan.. I remember all the training I done with my staffy girl loosely ( not getting any younger lol ) but yeah .. here for a refresher course 🤪
The Best Guidance video I’ve Seen in UA-cam ! My first Bull is now 3 months old, it’s challenging but rewarding, just started toilet training on the street, because the first months he had to do it at home in a designated spot, but now it is difficult to make him understand that outside is the spot, Do you have a video explaining that process or transition. You guys are amazing
Having an issue with the same thing. Transition from inside to outside. My bull terrier WILL NOT go potty outside. Only 3rd day of trying. Will be persistent with it
When he does it inside grab him and put his nose in it and raise your voice and make sure he understands you are upset....when he does it outside reward him, give him a treat and make sure he understands you are happy. Also a routine....take him outside right before bed and as soon as you wake up.
These guys on the video are proffessionals... training and raising dogs is their full time job. You cannot expect to get the same results with your dog as day have especially if you have a full time job outside of home etc... These advices are useful for people who have a plenty of free time...

However there are missing some really important issues in this video, which is important to know before getting one... Like you heve to take an insurance for responsibility in case of when your " tank " walks away with grandma's antique caninet filled with crystal glasses because he was itching his back under it, or when he runs into a ladder when the painter is on it, just enthousiasm, or when he bumps a bicycle against someones car because he starts spinning after being surprised by his own fart, and most important is that you know what to do when they by accident get a hold of another dog , thats annoying him for 6 weeks, DO NOT DRAG THE DOGS APART, THERE WILL BE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE BECAUSE OF YOU DRAGGING AND PULLING, OR DO NOT BREAK HIS JAW, there are easy tricks to get the jaws apart. A bullterrier doesnt shake when he fights and his jaw gets stuck because of his jawmuscle which is bred in the race 150 yrs ago. Ask a breeder anout the tricks ( I use the rose scissors. ) dont panic and tell the other dog owner to remain calm. These are really important things. Furthermore I really dont agree with the comment about little children and harassing or bullying. These dogs are the perfect companion for the youngest or smallest, if grown up together, and you forget to mention the most famous bullterrier, the one that bit a child, alleged to the children , when parents came in the room they saw a brooze on the youngest arm and got spooked, after hospital with child and minor brooze on arm treated, they were send to the vet and all parties decided on euthanising the bull. When the owners were gone and the vet had to put the dead dog in the bin outside to be picked up, he scratched his finger to blood when lifting the bullterrier... Long story short: this bullterrier was bullied by his "own" kids who where between 6 and 12 yrs old, and they played bus with him, stapeling his ears at every " busstop" the vet found in one ear like 260 staples, fresh and old, in the other like 40 or 50... They used a tiny kiddo stapeler.. and this bullterrier became a real hero, unfortunately, after life... The parents as well as the vet, never forgave themselves, for just following gaslit information from neighbours, hospital doctors and the vet himself. The worst was that they were mad and left the life bull at the vet without saying goodbye ( im crying now 😢)...think about any other breed enduring this horrible pain several days after eachother. These dogs will do anything to please their people. . . Its a real shame that people think they're short tempered, because this is typicall bullterrier behaviour !!!! TOLERATING EVERYTHING, JUST IF THE KIDS ARE HAPPY! THEY ARE CAPABLE OF ENDURING SO MUCH, AND HAVE THE HIGHEST SCORE ON GOING IN PAIN (kids confessed later, where afraid to tell because they knew they had no business torturing the dog, they did it a couple of times before without the dog getting fed up with them)
I’m on a waitlist for a bull terrier puppy and she’ll be here in about two months, this is the video that i really needed! Thank you so much! I don’t know if you have other videos on it but if not are you able to make a video about the ideal schedule for a puppy the second they come home?
Hi Isabel, thanks so much for watching it's great to hear you found it helpful! We have a number of different videos looking at training and behaviour tips for your puppy on our channel, but we also offer training courses on our website you might find interesting. Find our more information on our website: fenrirdogtraining.com
I will be getting a bull terrier puppy in late February, the videos your channel has uploaded have been so helpful for me. I'll be purchasing the puppy training course as well.
Hello from South Africa. I am a proud owner of a male bull terrier. I have a question: Is it true that a choke chain should not be used when walking my bully? Some inside info. I have never been inclined to use a choke chain but my husband wants us to use such a collar. I’m unsure as I only want the best for my dog.
My bull terriers are 2 and 3 and they are bad lil kids. I want to put them in training but I can’t afford it and they’re adults and used to being outside all the time and they can be really aggressive and I don’t know how to train them at all. Any tips for adult terriers?
Hey Beatrix, thanks for watching! We'd obviously recommend looking into a local training if you have a serious behaviour concern with your dogs but understand that might not be possibly at the moment. We do however have a free short course looking at canine behaviour that can help you restructure your relationship with your dogs which will then help with dealing with undesirable behaviours. Check out our website for more details: leader.fenrircanineleaders.co.uk/pcb1624251731913
So glad I found your channel. My bull terrier is 10 weeks old and if I'm honest, he's a bit of a nightmare atm. We're really struggling to stop him from nipping and grabbing our clothes when we're walking around the house, and when we're trying to tickle him. Any tips on how to stop the nipping and mouthing? Cheers guys
Hey Liz, thanks for watching! It might be a case of inserting mental and physical exercise but we do have a recent video looking at this question you might find helpful: ua-cam.com/video/Atm9D6h6cKo/v-deo.html Also don't forget if you'd like a little more help with training, we do offer a free course you might find really helpful.Head over to our website for more details: leader.fenrircanineleaders.co.uk/pcb1624251731913
What do you do hide absolutely everything from shoes to remote control, dish towels, Fingers toes eyeglasses rugs any cords you could possibly want to protect etc. Also include hugs lots of love and treats in the best dog food possible and may be a possible comfy bed of course they’re going to chew it up
Firstly beware! BTs are puppies until they are about 7 years old. And then they become 8 year old puppies. Common sense is key. And always have plenty of stuff for them to destroy. Shoes are a favourite with all bullies. Carpets. Furniture. Wooden things. If they get a chance, they will eat it. But the biggest mistake EVERY bullie owner mistakes is letting them into your bed. DON'T DO IT.... The second mistake all bullie owners make is getting a second one. Enjoy.
Thanks so much for all your Bull Terrier vids! 🙌🌟 I fell in love with them after meeting one and I want two more than anything and didn't know where to turn to about training them but this has made me a lot more confident and eager about it 😋 will probably buy one of your courses when the time comes! Are there any specific ones you'd recommend?
We just got our 10 week old pup, but he keeps trying to rip up the carpets, how can I stop him from doing it? so that he doesnt get made an outside dog😅
I have one that I have one that i took in for a friend because Panda is super hyper I also a week earlier took in a male pit bull he looks like a bully but he’s not the mini kind he’s the big one. Pluto is his. name he was super scared of people and would not follow basic commands he was so afraid that my husband would call him and would pee himself. When panda showed up from the moment I opened up the door Pluto .when after Panda and Panda would not back down. Finally we got the dogs settled and my husband who’s been around pit bulls said let them go. And we decided that they could co exist now Pluto has already been neutered. But Panda is not. My biggest problem is Panda is very rough with Pluto, He bites him very hard and we have had a few scares because things have go gotten heated with them and panda is always the aggressor he 4:00 doesn’t. He doesn’t listen. He doesn’t follow any basic commands my backyard looks like a damn Mindfield because I have holes everywhere he I’ve just now am finding out what kind of dog he is and I didn’t realize that you cannot train this breed of dog like you would any other dog, so I’m gonna try some of the things that you guys have said as far as the exercise and keeping them engaged I don’t let him out of his cage because he chews up everything and I don’t I can’t really watch him so I’m concerned I guess about the two dogs getting into a huge fight and how to get them to get along because panda is always taking food. Pluto food his bones. He’s always messing with him and he won’t listen. He’s only he’s only gotten aggressive with me once when I tried to break up a fight but it’s getting to the point where she’s jumping and I can’t tell if he’s playing or if he’s actually gonna try to bite me because I think it’s unfair to have them in their cages all day, but at the same time he tears everything up help
My mom is thinking about getting me a bull terrier puppy, but we have a dog she’s 4 and she’s a chihuahua mixed with a Pomeranian so idk if it’s okay to have the puppy with her if we even get one.
I think if I would bring a bull terrier puppy home I wouldn’t be able not to cuddle him for one second, roll with him on a bad and on a pillow, rubbing noses and showing all kind of affection and love…I don’t know how good that would be for his development and latter behaviour 😔 I like these puppies so much I don’t think that I could manage my emotions at all 😔
I even called the animal rescue here to see if I can turn them both in because at this point we’re just like oh my God what do we do and the only reason that’s holding me is the shelter here is a kill shelter in I’ll have to pay $60 to turn them in and right now they’re telling me there’s dogs that are full with pitbull and they’re really sweet dogs. I just wanna make sure if I do decide to give them up and if this doesn’t work with With them I don’t want them to go to a place where I’m gonna pay and then if they did, they don’t get adopted in 60 days they’re gonna kill them. I just saw my husband. We’ve been doing everything all wrong with him with with him he gets he keeps us up all night for for no reason just cause he wants to play and we let him out and we know your chips have been helpful, so I’m gonna try every day because I don’t want them to know to wind up dead.,
i got problem with my one year old bull boy he sometimes when some friend of mine aproaches me while we having a walk on a leash ofc have some strange behaviour he suddenly growls and literally if i blink he could rip someones leg im really concerned about his temperament he never have had bad experiences with humans he is two weeks with me but i chose him for my friend who have moved overseas and first day i took him to my mom and he was acting perfectly but other than close family he can be more than dangerous it is always sudden WHAT TO DO WITH HIM PEOPLE ARE GENERALY SCARED AND I THINK THAT HE JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE FIRST CONTACT
also after that sudden strike hes acting normally he have good genes, he is not deaf, he is always answering when i call him or sumn he does not act up or sumn but that blitz attacks are making me nervous more and more
He is trying to protect you! This is not a breed which will be friendly with everyone! If you cant handle that you should not get a dog of this breed (or another protective dog like a Dutch Shepherd or Malinois)!
@@arnograbner4741 i adopted him from guy who was going to jail, i didn't want to see him go to shelter because he is such a good dog. He is happy, and now thats all that matters i think.
See when you say punish what would be an appropriate punishment I know shouting and screaming at the dog is no good, any advice would be great I want to make this little guy apart of the family
You need to take a break from work and commit full time job for raising your pup! It takes a Looot of time. That's number one! Pup is going to toilette 8-10 time per day, so if you want to avoid accidents, yeah prepare yourself like you're raising the baby!!!
As an owner of 5 bull terriers...all this advice is useless...all u have to do is want a dog....and treat it like a companion and everything will be fine
That's because training a well behaved dog is repetition. Most people don't have the patience, and most people shouldn't have a dog. If you got annoyed after 5 minutes, you should probably not be thinking about a BT.
@@wildboybatko I still think this is worthwhile. Second bull terrier? I had my first one nearly 40 years ago, and I'm getting a nice show prospect (male puppy) on October 7. I have bred them and showed them with great success. I was the American handler of the English and American Champion Catrana Eye Opener of Aricon ("Dominic"), perhaps the greatest bull terrier in the history of the breed. "Dominic" appears 5 times in the pedigree of the colored bull terrier "Rufus." who won Best in Show at Westminster in 2006. I know bull terriers, and I believe this video is not just "click bait."

This is really helpful thank you! We're just about to get our first puppy 🐶
How do you deal with trancing? I can no longer walk mine. He goes into a trance over a shadow or nose into a bush and will not move.
I pick my puppy up on April 2nd, these videos are really going to help me!
This is so exciting! Hope the final weeks of prep goes well!
@@fenrirbullterriershow7548 thank you!
Thank you for the information I found it really helpful 😊
Great video 🎉🎉
So glad I found your channel. My bull terrier is 10 weeks old and if I'm honest, he's a bit of a nightmare atm. We're really struggling to stop him from nipping and grabbing our clothes when we're walking around the house, and when we're trying to tickle him. Any tips on how to stop the nipping and mouthing? Cheers guys
Hey Liz, thanks for watching! It might be a case of inserting mental and physical exercise but we do have a recent video looking at this question you might find helpful: ua-cam.com/video/Atm9D6h6cKo/v-deo.html
Also don't forget if you'd like a little more help with training, we do offer a free course you might find really helpful.Head over to our website for more details: leader.fenrircanineleaders.co.uk/pcb1624251731913
Thank you for your reply. I'll watch the video you've linked and I'll try the course. Cheers guys
First thing: stop to tickle him!
Thanks for watching! You can find all our online courses over on our website: www.fenrircanineleaders.com
I live in Ladd Illinois and I really want a bull terrier to take on walks/jogs and feed.💩 I don't know where to get one?
We just got our 10 week old pup, but he keeps trying to rip up the carpets, how can I stop him from doing it? so that he doesnt get made an outside dog😅
As a previous owner, bullys are more dog than people bargain for.
My wife's friend would take her rescue dog to a super mar ket to sit in.outside entrance lobby.to get dog used to people ,socialisation practice
Great advice. You guys are full of knowledge. Wanting to get a bull terrier or mini
Thanks..
I didn’t read your name when I clicked on the video and I was thrown off when you said fenrir since I use fenrir as my username for everything 😂
I think if I would bring a bull terrier puppy home I wouldn’t be able not to cuddle him for one second, roll with him on a bad and on a pillow, rubbing noses and showing all kind of affection and love…I don’t know how good that would be for his development and latter behaviour 😔 I like these puppies so much I don’t think that I could manage my emotions at all 😔
Great video thanks
Is the BT's coat soft or smooth to the touch? Thanks!
None of your links work. I hope you're still with us.
Excellent video
Just love them 💕
Are bullies easy with people or risky to bite
We’ve been doing everything all wrong with him with with him he gets he keeps us up all night for for no reason just cause he wants to play and we let him out and we know your chips have been helpful, so I’m gonna try every day because I don’t want them to know to wind up dead.,
Sound like to many rules I had a red nose pitbull and didn't have no rules at all and he was perfectly fine
Not every dog is the same! But normally every dog needs rules to follow! In a pack of dogs are rules, so it is normal for a dog to follow rules!
will these tips work for my girlfriend , she is spanish ...................... and really nice looking
Good insight
what does "break" mean in American English?
Release from the sit-stay position. 3 commands, sit, stay, wait for release from stay. Useful for doorways and roads etc.
i got problem with my one year old bull boy
he sometimes when some friend of mine aproaches me while we having a walk on a leash ofc
have some strange behaviour
he suddenly growls and literally if i blink he could rip someones leg
im really concerned about his temperament
he never have had bad experiences with humans
he is two weeks with me but i chose him for my friend who have moved overseas
and first day i took him to my mom and he was acting perfectly
but other than close family he can be more than dangerous
it is always sudden
WHAT TO DO WITH HIM PEOPLE ARE GENERALY SCARED AND I THINK THAT HE JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE FIRST CONTACT
also after that sudden strike hes acting normally
he have good genes, he is not deaf, he is always answering when i call him or sumn
he does not act up or sumn
but that blitz attacks are making me nervous more and more
He is trying to protect you!
Do your dogs get very confused with you constantly talking without breaks?
Very good info brother
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'd spoil and train them little doggies.Simple mission statement, yes head kisses every day to. Gotta love them dogs!
Great attitude for Bull Terriers
I would welcome an English Bull Terrier living here with us.
👍🏻💪🏻
Easy take them to the park to play.
You need to take a break from work and commit full time job for raising your pup! It takes a Looot of time. That's number one! Pup is going to toilette 8-10 time per day, so if you want to avoid accidents, yeah prepare yourself like you're raising the baby!!!
My Bull Terrier can kill anythign he want to. So tough man be awesome get a bully.
Bapada boopi
Too much waffle
As an owner of 5 bull terriers...all this advice is useless...all u have to do is want a dog....and treat it like a companion and everything will be fine
4 minutes this dude repeats one and the same thing…. this was so annoying
That's because training a well behaved dog is repetition. Most people don't have the patience, and most people shouldn't have a dog. If you got annoyed after 5 minutes, you should probably not be thinking about a BT.
@@polybius23 lol. It is my second bull terrier and it is going great. And I still do not like to watch bs nonsense videos with an obvious clickbait
Wasted time
Dont get one if you like your furniture.
