I absolutely love Kerry Ellis in this role, I've just been given the part of Nancy so I've been looking up loads of different versions of her songs and Kerry is definitely my favourite!!
+The101genco we all get you like her as Nancy but you are being a tad stubborn because there are plenty of other great Nancy's out there including this one and we don't all have to agree with you Mate.
Well everyone has there favorites and I can comment my favorite. Shani Wallis and Kerry Ellis are my favorite Nancy. Shani really is the best..No one can top her in my eyes.
@fountainchain126 It was our College Christmas production. How we got her is a funny story, our Music lecturer had done some work with Kerry before and we said as a joke "Why don't you phone her and see if she wants to come and help us with "Oliver"?", but then she came in the next day and said "Yeah, she'll do it.". Thes stuff she did with us was just going through a few Nancy scenes, choreographed "Consider Yourself" and "Oom-Pah-Pah for us and we gave her a sample of our singing.
@fountainchain126 We're all entitled to our own opinion - and I personally loved her in the role. I was sceptical at first, but was converted by her brilliant performance. We all take different things from performers.
@caferoys Who wouldn´t love to? I saw several performances at Drury Lane in late November and early December 2010 and I am still "hungry". I wish there were a DVD. I would pay quite a lot for it.
@tellymad649 no way!!! are you serious???? that's amazing that she would do that. is it a community theatre production or a school production? what sort of stuff did she do? tell us all :)
She's very good, but Shani will always be my favorite. And I don't like this scene done with the kids as much. Even though that's how it was originally done on Broadway, I loved how the movie changed it to being at the pub. To me, it sets a much better mood and I always get chills watching it and I just want to be there at the bar with them. My favorite movie ever!!! Also, is it just me, or does this version seem a little too fast?
Shani is the BEST Nancy ever..She IS Nancy! I also like the tavern as well a much better tone. But I do love Kerry Ellis's Nancy too she's just no Shani Wallis, No one is.
The101genco why did you feel the need to leave your opinion multiple times on every fucking Oliver video? No one gives a shit who you think is the best.
I'm a 13 year old girl playing Nancy in my school play, the drama teacher is very scrict and if you do one thing wrong even by accident she raises her voice, I find it so nerve racking, I tried to quit but the teacher stormed off then later wouldn't let me quit, im having a very hard time, any tips?
@jammie196dodger So you played Charlie Bates, didn´t you? I suppose you were in Team Bloomsbury, so you probably don´t know the answer (I think Team Aldwych played on that day), but hopefully you could make an educated guess. On Saturday, December 4th, 2010 I saw Oliver! at Drury Lane and at the end of Consider Yourself Oliver wasn´t carried on the shoulders. Why? Did it happen at other times, too?
@ElphabaEmerald182 I have to disagree, I'm afraid. I'm not picking a fight, I'm just stating the obvious here... Jodie Prenger, although I don't think she can sing or act and think she'd make a great TV presenter, was phenomenal in this role. Kerry -- on the night I saw her and apparently more often than not -- wasn't arsed in this role and didn't give any ounce of energy, she seemed bored in the show and didn't care really - it was just a cheque for her really.
i love watching this because i am the boy in a red coat , black hat and glasses , and now the whole show is over it brings back great memories x
I absolutely love Kerry Ellis in this role, I've just been given the part of Nancy so I've been looking up loads of different versions of her songs and Kerry is definitely my favourite!!
perfection is the only word
Miss Ellis actually came from London to help us with our production of "Oliver" in November. What an honour
She's phenomenal! I saw her in this role in April, and she really is sublime. Honestly!
the cast of the movie musical Oliver cannot be beat....amazing talented crew of actors.
Auditioning for Bet at my theatre :3
My favorite and the best Nancy will always be Shani Wallis
Not just her. To me, Doris Lloyd, Kay Walsh, Sheri Lunghi, Amanda Harris and Emily Woolf played the role of Nancy brilliantly
Shani will always be the best no matter what. Number 1 Nancy!!
+The101genco we all get you like her as Nancy but you are being a tad stubborn because there are plenty of other great Nancy's out there including this one and we don't all have to agree with you Mate.

To me that's true but I don't know what Nancy really suits the book to me
I'd love to be in a show with kerry ellis.

Shani is my favorite Nancy but I do love Kerry's Nancy too.

@lydiamee This is a West End production :) Their costumes were made especially for this show.
Oliver! Is now on a Uk tour!!! That why :)
Do you have the full show? Would you consider emailing/sending me it?:)
Do you or anyone have ( I'd do anything or be back soon) from this very performance or another london or broadway performance of this, maybe west end?
@tellymad649 no way!!! are you serious???? that's amazing that she would do that. is it a community theatre production or a school production? what sort of stuff did she do? tell us all :)

musicallover8 but surely without the kids it's not Oliver the kids play a big role

I love how she almost drops the kid at 1:00 !! ;)

@MsHammyUK She's already finished! It's not on the west end anymore :/ x
@ElphabaEmerald182 Exactly... She just didn't do it for me, but I know a lot of people like yourself loved her
@BallerinaAnnieV is your nancy on the west end?

@cherryride12 no we're in the east :p btw we already has it and it went great!!! I dont have a vid of it tho :,(
my brothers in it!(the one in the blue)
where did you get your costume from??? xx
Wow the screen is going green... the orange... then pixillated... I'm totally tripping balls here.
then I'm really wondering what you'd think of Samantha Barks hahaha
@BallerinaAnnieV Oh yes, I'm sure she is.
@creepyworld22 could we do a trade for this?
Im a 13 year old girl playing namcg

Who plays Fagin?
Haha, she nearly dropped the little kid, I'm playing nancy in February and I hope a don't do that!
I spent the whole thing trying to be decent and admire her talent but my eyes kept drifting down.
Unpopular opinion: I don't really like her as Nancy.
shes amazing... but our Nancy is better....
